NFL Divisional Round Predictions/Stories

Today the National Football League begins it’s Divisional Round Playoffs, Last week I picked three out of the four winners in the wildcard round. The only surprise I received was the San Diego Chargers beating the Bengals.

This Weekends games will be, not as competitive in my mind, but we shall see.

AFC

Colts come to Patriots in New England—- Take the Patriots with 7 points.

San Diego goes to Denver—- take Denver at home with Manning throwing for 4 tds at least

NFC

NO Saints go to Seattle to play the Leagues best in the Seahawks— I would take the Saints here by 3

San Francisco goes to Carolina to face the Panthers— Take San Francisco here by 7

The AFC and NFC Championships should be interesting in any case, the remaining teams are fighters!

And away we go, towards the Superbowl!

A Murder Mystery with a twist ending!

Thoughts of World, War and Home!

Another Day begins in 2014, and more keeps happening world-wide. Each day a new attack from someone on someone somewhere in the world. These who believe war will earn them something are wrong, unless that war is based on principles of peace and necessary. Sadly, we shoot each other and kill each other like fools over a border line, a religious quote, a belief, or in anger, each minute in the world someone dies, who shouldn’t due to it all.  Wars are foolish, unnecessary, and ruthless, for more innocents get killed and all we do is watch in horror. America tries to defend and protect and police the world against evil, but in the end, ever the greatest nation in the world, must stop doing so and take care of its own people.

America is not made to police the world, but we are here as a country and people, because we believe in what is right and that all men are created equal. We believe there is no reason to attack another country just because of religious beliefs, or political differences, we do what is right and we may walk away from such people it is our right as a nation. Policing the world failed for us in Korea, it failed for us in Vietnam, it will fail where ever we try to do it, for we are not the world police folks, and people have differences we do not belong in. We use our military to influence and push other into a better direction, isn’t it time we realize, we can’t afford to keep doing so. Afghanistan, The Sudan,  and others across the world call for our help knowing we have military might and political pull in the world, but is it time we stop, pulling others fat out of the fire so to say. What can we do is North and South Korea  fight it out, nothing folks, we are too far away and too smart I hope to do that one again. If you want to help the world and the people in it Americans help the children who will one day be the leaders on the planet to understand and survive, so these wars will not happen again, educate, teach, live peace.

As 2014, goes further along we are now 5 days in, and I see no change in America’s stances on many things and yes, I am an American Disabled Veteran folks. I did my job for 16 years in the military lived my life my way and did as ordered. I firmly believe in America, protect, preserve and defend, I didn’t stay in the military for that long of a time to not care, I stayed in not for myself, but for the love I had for my family and friends back home here. Some Americans have the opinion that American Service members stay in just to retire and get the benefits from it, others do not understand, as military members we do our best to stay alive out there, but we do so for those we love back home. We get killed and hurt and injured, and then we come home to a country that has moved forward, elected a new President and been taken in a new direction, and we feel left out or lost, because we can’t assimilate to the society we left behind anymore. So we suffer depression, anxiety, pain each day and we smile through it all, until we feel abandoned and forgotten by the same people we fought to defend and protect. Then as the depression builds, in loneliness, one day they find us dead with a gun in one hand and our brains blown across some floor. This is what happens to men and women who serve who can’t live anymore because of PTSD, depression and anxieties and they can’t reach out and find a way to fit in anymore, because they are no longer equipped to do so. Sad isn’t it folks but true, look around and you will see us, struggling on a street corner, living in a cardboard box on a street alley, asking for donations so we can eat and sleep in warmth, heading to churches for help and to talk. We are Americas Veterans, we are the survivors of battles you all sent us in to fight, and we did so proudly, not for ourselves, but for Love, Honor, Country, Family and friends. So, when you walk into a Walmart, or shopping mall or plaza and see a scraggly person, in old uniforms or dressed in flags hobbling around and hurt, and hungry, many of them could be us, the Veterans you asked to serve and did so proudly only to come home and get overlooked.

I have other beefs and rants too of course as a man and a person, but none more than the above. I don’t agree with all that our country does, but I do have the following thing to say as a final rant for today. If America were to pull out of all war zones and battles and policing actions, bring home all weapons, military and money, and put it into the American Economy and making jobs for all and educating Americans, wouldn’t America be so much better off? Think of the money we spend to fight wars and police other nations and people and how many billions we use to do so and what it would do for our own economy and country if we invested in ourselves instead of it all? Amazingly, you would find an economy today that would be growing instead of puttering along, the jobs would open up more and the wheels would get greased that we need to fix, Obama Care, to fix Job Markets, to fix many things, yet we continue to fight wars for others! Sad aren’t we folks, we sometimes look too far outside and ignore what is inside our own country and needing help.

Ok, enough ranting today, it is Sunday a Fun Day as my baby sister always say, It’s a Sunday to pray as you please to what God you believe in, it’s a Sunday for family, friends and lovers to unite. It’s a Football Day in January with two games played yesterday and two more to go today for WildCard Weekend in The NFL. One thing Americans like to watch sports of all kinds, Football, Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, and more, yes even Golf, why I don’t know one whole of that one and I sleep.  But, people are different every where ya go and we love our sports.  So Sunday is usually sports day here in America, although the women hate us for it lol. We do it anyway, and love it us men at least. Traditions just die-hard for sure and we pass them to our children each day we live, this is just one of them.

My closing today is a little different folks, I as a Disabled Veteran believe in my country and our freedom of speech and appreciate it greatly. As all of us should for we fought for the rights we have long ago in history against the British and Won. I believe in our right to bear arms too, but, I don’t believe in the right to bear military weapons in our homes, on our streets or not protected and safety on and stored properly so our children will never get them. You want to hunt animals fine, you want to go shooting on a range fine, you have these rights, but you do not have the right to take a firearm to a public place and start shooting people because your mad or depressed or sick.  We need stronger gun laws to protect our children, our citizens and more, not to protect the people who shoot people, Ok! Enough said!

Here in Connecticut, where I live, we got hit by Snow Storm Bethanny last night and into today. The Snow is not too bad but the cold is miserable and the winds and temps even worse. The wind picks it up and swirls it about and wham drifts occur making it harder to clear up in a driveway, walkway or yard. I have a snow Thrower/ Blower and believe me it will clean it all up as soon as I can with it. I do not have any intention of killing myself doing so, since I am now down one and one-third lung. Cancer does slow ya down folks believe me, but I am also a stubborn old sailor and I will not pay anyone 55 bucks a shot to clear my driveway when I own an Ariens Blower. Besides no one needs to go anywhere that bad around here.

I can remember when I was a kid back in the 1960s, and I would get dressed up grab a sled and off I would go, riding down hills every where we could. Laughing, and joking and so intent on who could reach the bottom first. Ah it was fun being a kid, making snow angels, having snow ball fights, riding sleds in the snow. Playing Baseball, Football in the backyards and fields, plus games like hide and seek, 1,2,3 Red Light, and even Army games. But those days are limited for all of us humans we grow up to be cynical, mean, bitches and bastards, who only worry about our ourselves and our own children. Yet the children don’t know the difference and still play and have fun and that is all a part of life. It’s something we pass down and kids learn easily and with laughter and tears sometimes. They don’t worry if they are white, black, hispanic, oriental or any other race or color, they just know it’s fun to play together. Funny how society is different when your young than when your older, kids become what we teach them to be folks, just like the snow when it falls, it does what mother nature tells it to do and cleans the planet to a holy white scene. Amazingly, we get along so much better as children then as adults on this planet, every wonder why? It’s easy folks, no matter who you are, you teach your children to be like you, to do and speak like you, instead of letting them grow on their own and find out alone, we warn them, we put our prejudices, our discriminations in their minds and push them to be scared of the others, to be fearful and to hate and dislike. We shouldn’t for like Hillary Clinton said, it’s takes a Neighborhood to raise a child and make the world better, we all need to be in the same one.

Today, is January 3rd, 2014, it’s cold, windy, snowy and it needs cleaned up outside. But in my heart is a warmth for the family, friends and grandkids I love best. As we get further into 2014 each day, I stop now, once a day and think of the loved ones and friends I have had, and wonder where are they now and are they all ok? Time makes us separate and move on as each part of our lives come and go, in stages. Yet, each of us can indeed look back and remember special loved ones, friends from each period or age time in our lives and smile at the memories. It, is folks what makes us all so human, we have emotions, we have minds, we have thought and yes memories of all kinds. Just, remember the good times folks, use the bad as a guidance to avoid and go on with life as 2014 will roll along, and make it a great New Year and new Life start fresh as the white virgin snow and build a new portrait on it.

January 2nd,2014

ImageToday is January 2nd 2014 a new day  has dawned and I still remember January 2nd, 1982 when my first daughter Eileen Marie was born, pictured above. It was a balmy day in Virginia that day in Norfolk, as I walked her mother, my ex-up and down the streets to induce her to give birth. We chatted about family, life and having a baby. We walked for hours at a clip to get Eileen to come, she was stubborn then before birth and more so today I bet. Yet at 2;58 am on January, 2nd, 1982, she came into our lives, and we will always love her, no matter what she does.

Eileen Marie has her own attitudes, her own personalities and thank god, she got my looks not her moms. But that’s another story, she grew up after the divorce between her mom and I, raised by her Grandmother and Uncle and her mom flying in and out working everyday. She still has her anger towards the world and the fighting spirit she was born with, and is usually a straight shooter. I was proud of her the day she was born and i am proud of her today too, I keep telling her, you can do anything you set your mind to, as long as you stick to it, and she does.

I will love Eileen till the day I die, even if she gets angry at me at times and dislikes my views or opinions. She is my daughter and I hope she will know that forever more. I have a second daughter too, Leslie Ann, and love her and her family also just as much, each is an individual in their own right, a little different from the other, but still my girls. I love ya both Eileen and Leslie and Hope you both know it too.

Now with a new Year under way, snow storms coming in to wash away the odors and stinks of 2013, a new beginning is here. The world is fresh, but is it ready to move forward? Or will we face more wars, policing actions, fights and battles with fools who want to conquer all and make the world a sad place to live in? Lets hope not, let’s do what is right for our people, our country, and pull out of all wars, and use the money, materials, personnel and more to drive our economy, create jobs, and make America a place that is first in all.

When I was a child in the 1960’s I was born in 1956, the world was indeed a different place to live in. People would stop and help one another, whether it was to change a tire or an injury. It was what I called it, a we society then, where it was all for one and one for all. It changed in the 1980s to a me society, yes people running around saying I got mine, the hell with you, and has stayed that way since, sad isn’t it? Americans are not meant to be me people, we are meant to be we the people, not give me and the hell with you! Sad isn’t it, that we turned in that direction in the 1980s and never turned back?

As Obama Care rolls out and more and more Americans enroll in Health Care for all, lets hope it works for all not just the rich. Lets hope Congress has a brain enough among them to increase Unemployment for another 26 weeks, lets hope we can create jobs in many occupations and get our people back to work and to middle class levels everywhere here at home.

Congress needs to also address the Farm Bills that affect the cost of produce and dairy products. Don’t let milk got to 5 bucks a gallon, children need it to grow, don’t let farmers work themselves to death and have no income to survive and keep going. Fix it!

Last but not least today I want to mention the following; As a boy I had no women in my life who protected me or coddled me in anyway. My mother, didn’t do any of that.

But, as I grew older most of my friends are females and I had surrogate mothers and more so I am lucky as hell that way. I went from a loner boy, to a male surrounded by women in life. I have my daughters, my sister, my wife, roomers and more all females, old friends and more, and I thank God for all of Them.! So I am a lucky man in many ways, not only with the birth of my daughter, but with life in general. I write stories, poems, blogs people read. I have survived seizures, 199, by the age of 9 months old. beatings with pipes, two by fours and fireplace pokers, 2 years in an Institution I didn’t belong in, then 16 years of military life between three branch of service Army, Army National Guard and US Navy. I have survived also service injuries 6 herniated discs in my spine, sleep apnea, depression, anxiety and PTSD and now in 2013 I have survived lung cancer. I am indeed a Lucky Man. I love all my friends and family, my daughters, my wife and my life, God Bless all and Happy 2014!

Looking back and Happy New Year to All!

The last day of 2013 has arrived folks, as we prepare for New Years Eve tonight and a New year tomorrow. we need to stop for a moment and look at where we are in life and in the world and all that happened before we start a new one. The world is a dangerous place for all to live and we Americans are the luckiest ones on it currently. We live in peace and we have choices and can vote for what we wish. we control our own destiny if we come together as a nation, throw aside who is what color, what race, what nationality and what party and learn that it takes all to make it work right!

I have lived now 57 years, and seen Presidents come and go, from Eisenhower to now Obama, seen wars from Vietnam to Afghanistan, seen economic boom to economic bust and still I am here and icking and soon to turn 58. I am entering now my downside of life, an age where many retire and disappear to hotter climates and warmer places and slowly fade into the past. Yet I wonder what more I shall live to see, an America with full health care for all, an America with all colors, races and nationalities and religions getting along would be nice.  As I sit here and think back, I remember a lady in my old project neighborhood, her name I don’t remember her actions I do.  It was the 1960’s before the March on Washington by Martin Luther KIng Jr. and it seemed to me as a  little boy a simpler time than now. I was outside playing, I had a simple empty jar and I was chasing bees to catch them and look at them that day. As I went to close the cover on the jar, the bee escaped and stung me on my right hand and I cried out in shock and pain from it. Out rushed this nice, sweet lady who looked at me and helped me right away, she held my hand out and said watch this as I looked at her in amazement. She reached down and got a bit of mud out of the ground and packed it on my palm where I had been stung. One minute later, the stinger was out, my tears were dried and I was ready to play once more and I thinked her. I remember her big brown eyes, her smile at me and her friendly and kind nature. I was a white boy and she a black woman in her late forties. She didn’t have to help me back then for the division between colors and races was still in action, yet she did out of the bigness of her heart. And the warmth of her being shone through to me and we were friends from that day on till we moved. The point being this folks, it matters not what color, what nationality, whet religion if we care for one another as Americans we can do anything, together. I hope 2014 will bring that cooperation, friendliness and more back to America. Lord knows we all need it folks no matter what color we may be.

I have lived through attacks on America by others that took down the World Trade Towers in New York and stood still frozen in time as a plane went down near Pittsburgh, Pa. where my daughters lived and prayed they would not get killed.  I have served my country as a soldier, national guardsman and in the end a sailor and seen the world. I have visited countries of wonder in Europe, The North Atlantic, South America and even the Bermudas, on active duty, and been fascinated by all the different people, the cultures and wonders of it all.  I lived through 199 seizures in the first nine months of my life and survived, beating given to me as a child by abusing parents, fought through institutions to stay free. and survived. I survived my military life, with six herniated discs in my spine, depression, PTSD and Anxiety, and much more. I have recently survived lung cancer in 2013, having a lobe and one third removed from my right lung, to remove the cancer. I am a lucky man in many aspects and I know it.  So, when I say this I mean it America, 2014 must bring peace and get us out of wars, it must bring peace between the races, and nationalities of America and we must all move forward to improve this country, it’s economy and how we care for one another. America is indeed the shinning beacon it once was before if we make it so people, we the Americans can do it!

The one thing we all need to do, no matter what race, color or nationality may be or religion, is to stop policing other nations and fighting their wars for them. we can’t keep spreading our forces around the world policing nations that don’t want us there and spending what wed on’t have to defend others. We need that cash, our people, and our weapons and money at home and added to our economy to create new jobs for all, to pay for the unemployed and to help healthcare for all to get underway. I hope and pray 2014 will be so much better for all of America, and all Americans everywhere. May Peace reign and may mankind discover, it’s better to love than hate one another!

          Happy New Year To All!

My Thoughts on the World as we head into 2014

30th of December 2013, is here, the day begins in darkness for me, I awoke at 6 am you see. As I sit here and think back on the year I start to think of what people live through. We live through pain, suffering, hopes and joys, thoughts and things made up by little girls and boys. We live on dreams for the future and try to forget the past, but are we all living too damn fast?

2013 had flown on by for me with all that has happened in the world. One day after another followed by stories of murders and murderers who get off on killing people and escaping the justice system in the world. We see leaders of countries killing their own off one by one or in mass amounts, we see disease and more come invade people’s bodies and countries, yet no one has the solutions so  people die in mass amounts. Why? Balance ladies and gentlemen, balance, the human equation and the planet’s too, say we must balance things or all be through. The polar ice caps melt each day at a faster rate than ever before, due to mankind’s lack of respect or care for the planet and the atmospheric system we live in that is so fragile indeed. The atmosphere is slowly disintegrating, the water sof the world rise each day and year, closing off land masses where humans must live. yet we continue to pollute, destroy and hard the planet that sustains and keeps our beings alive each day, why?

Here is a few other thoughts about 2013 for all to think about. 1) Do we follow our leaders blindly and let them lead us into wars and disasters for all. The wars of the world are based on political bullshit and differences no man should be killing each other over at all. What would happen I ask if the Jews and Arabs all found they came from the same one day in the near future and they just actually broke off from one another over religious beliefs, not political ones? Be amazing wouldn’t it to see, that indeed no matter what religion or background or heritage we may be, we are all indeed related as human beings and intermixed without knowing it! 20 What if the whole world had Health care for all, paid for by all of humankind to help one another survive? Could that happen yes, would it no, for we let personal and political bullshit get involved and fight one another.

What if we all pulled back the troops, weapons and fighting between each race, country and each other and found common ground, could mankind eventual save the planet and itself by using the combined intelligence of all the people in the world to preserve the plants? I bet we could, if we just stop being assholes to one another, and really start listen and give each other respect instead of hate!

Has anyone ever realized, Orson Wells, the writer, producer, director of movies and books fame actually gave us a solution to saving mankind before we self destruct decades ago? He produced the story and movie of War of The Worlds and talked about aliens invading the earth, at sometime in the future. If you watch the story closely and pay attention, all humanity at first goes into a panic scared shitless by the invaders. But than they realize to survive they must band together to save the human race and face off the invaders as one race, the earthlings who belong here. Amazingly, there is the blueprint to save humanity, it’s planet andour way of life, by making sacrifices to battle what we can as one. Interesting isn’t it folks?

To the countries like the United States, who hold nuclear weapons in their arsenal to protect their own or to retaliate, I say, there is no more reason for them and they should be banned and disassembled and that includes, Russia’s our own, and any other country that has them too. If one man pushes a nuke button and launches at another the world would be done in less then 15 minutes and all of us as the human race would be gone, leaving a shell of a planets behind. is that what we intend to do here on Earth folks, if so, ya better find a new planet fast!.

So, as we now head into 2014, in about 48 hours or so, we should think about all of this and more. Is having a political difference or a religious difference enough to kill humanity itself off and destroy the planet we live on? I think not, so wake up folks. 2014 is a coming, can we make a Resolution that says, no matter what color, race, heritage, religion or beliefs we may be or have, we are all mankind and we need to get along and together to save the planet and the human race!
