Indecision racks me as to what to write on next what subject is good and interesting to the public these days?

         Politics seems to me to be a subject, yet, it leads to anger, confusion and  ultimately a fight over who voted for whom and why, and who was right or wrong. I tired of this fight and argument, because Trump will show as he has so far, that those who voted for him are wrong. Each day he is in office and flying around with his wife to Florida every weekend get tiring to watch and talk about.  I am glad the Justice Department stopped his ban, and hope when he produces a new one it will make better common sense by naming countries that do terrorism.

          MY books are out there and who knows what can happen or will with them, I wrote them, edited them, and published them on Create Space and Amazon Kindle E-Books, done my part, it is now up to the buyers to say whether they are any good !

          I just thank God for being alive and having my wife with me each day and accept what i am given to survive and do what I can with it all!  One thing I can say is that getting older each day, week and year sucks, because the mortal body is a husk containing a spirit that runs it, when that body starts to deteriorate well, you get the idea!

               Everyday is a new one, and a new beginning in it’s own way, you can make yourself do and complete anything if you have the spirit and will to do it and the stubbornness and determination to keep going to get it done period. Just do it and remember folks no matter what, Mother Nature moves forward and is ruled by Father Time, and our time if limited here on earth, so just go for it, while your here. You will be remembered by those who love and care for you by what you do each day and leave behind once gone! Happy Saturday to All and Good Luck!

        Lets talk about launching as an Author/Writer today. I have been one of these writers/ authors who are having problems getting noticed and read! Are you one of these too? I bet many are out here searching for someone to help them advertise and promote their works to the mass public of people in the world. It is not easy at all to get noticed and to get Published but once you do get into book stores there still is guarantee you will be read. That is a problem all of us have!

          So How does one overcome this situation? I wish I knew really, I have tried online advertisers and so far no luck. I have tried sending it out to everyone I know, but without good reviews you get nothing for a response or sale! So, it seems to me, unless I am wrong,  you can’t get read without reviews and you can get sales without reviews and you can’t get reviews if you not noticed and read. The old Catch 22 is in effect here me thinks and I really have no idea what to do about any Suggestions would be helpful folks!

 

        Well, when that Doctors slapped my ass, 61 years ago and made me breath, he didn’t tell me how life would be!

          Some of us were born with silver spoons in our mouth like Trump, and other of us were born poor and struggled to survive, but it’s all about survival in the world is it not folks?

           I don’t have a Doctorate in science or  Masters in anything, but I do have my pride, and my Associates Degree, which is all I could afford to get using my Military Benefits. I don’t claim to be Stephen King, Robert Ludlum or Doris Kearns Goodwin but I do write. I write poetry, I write mysteries. I write even romances, but even when they are picked up by a Book Store like Barnes and Noble, they sit on shelves ignored, why because it is a catch 22 all writers face, you can shove your story/ slash book at people but like the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink. It’s all a matter of taste and interest, for those who read and whether an Author can hit a readers taste buds so to say. I know politics is popular these days, and trump is the dish of choice for newsrooms around the world. I also know, who won the Super Bowl and how they did and who they beat, but does anyone know me, nope! Why, because I write and try to make it work and end up in book stores on a shelf somewhere, and no one cares. Do writers have to scream and yell to be heard, or be on TV to get noticed what is it? You all tell me ok?

              How does one get noticed, it seems to me, if you write it may never happen? Am I asking for too much, am I that bad a writer that I suck? I don’t know, but, I can only hope some will read what I write and enjoy it all I can do is write and publish it and see what happens.

                Well that said and done for today and now off my chest, I shall move on back to being a Disc Jockey online in Second Life this am, doing Country Music and hopefully having fun. I shall see how it goes for now and hold off writing for a while to see if my little books will sell or not, in Barnes and Noble Online and in stores. If not, at l east I gave it a try, and all I can do is hope they fly. In the meantime, I shall continue on my way, DJing, writing, taking care of my wife with her cancer and watching myself for any return of my own cancer. And praying for forgiveness and luck to make ends meet and costs lower. Remember this my fellow Writers and Americans, President Trump cares not what the average american has or has not, nor does he intend to help anyone, but himself and his rich buddies and cronies. So save all you got, pay off your bills and hang on, for one messy ride, till 2020.

OK, after hesitation and thought I have tried to write stories that may appeal to people and hopefully will sell. Time shall tell, as I have tried an online advertising company to get my book out there, probably starting tomorrow. For me it is an experiment and I have tried to advertise on my own just isn’t working or my works suck, I guess I shall find out soon enough. Getting people to check out, independent Authors works or stories or books, isn’t easy and people don;t enjoy doing so it seems.

My works at least a few of them, have made it to Barnes and Noble Book Stores and I shall see if they sell, so far not much. I wish there was a way to make readers read them, but, we writers are at the mercy of the readers..

My Corner of Danger and Trouble Street, is going to be promoted and advertised online, I paid to see it happen. I just hope it reaches an audience it will sell to, if not, well, it may make me disappointed enough to stop writing, for I am not a professional at it, and all these failures to sell, can make me depressed. Time shall let me know that is for sure, soon enough. I did the book on Create Space, and I am hoping it is good enough for people to like it.

 

              After thinking it over many times mind you, I decided to pay to promote my book, online. for 30 days to see f it helps me get known as a writer and gets my story out to people to read and buy. In the past I have been hesitant to do so, figuring I could promote and advertise it myself, but in fact one person can not do the work of an entire team of people, and get you noticed or your story noticed too. As writers we try to make the story as interesting as we can, we can even self-publish it and broadcast it in our own voices online and in real life, yet, it doesn’t reach enough people unless, you are like Stephen King, if you know what I mea

              That said and done, it will be maybe 48 hours until it hits the internet and is promoted and advertised and I will wait and see how it does. Hopefully I wrote a story good enough for folks to read and like and want, I shall see. At this point I plan on going back into my Robbie’s Vengeance story and seeing if I can lengthen it some and make it a little more interesting by adjusting the ending. I want people to get to know and understand Robbie a bit more than what is their now.

               A little mention here for all, one of my favorite authors has always been the man who created Jason Bourne, Robert Ludlum,  I was very sad when he died, because he brought Bourne to life in so many different ways and styles. and I miss that.

           Stephen King does that with his characters also in most of his stories. It’s an ability I wish I could cultivate in myself and do better. While both King and Ludlum are favorites of mine to read, the best Biography writer who tells a great story and doe sit in such a way as to bring all the interactions and characters in the story to full life, is Doris Kearns Goodwin. This lady has the golden touch if you ask me, he book on Lincoln is unbelievable and engrossing and grabs you once you start it, and you won’t put it down till you finish it either.

                  Anyway, my Corner of Danger and Trouble Streets will be coming out and I just want to let everyone know I am trying and hope it reads well and people enjoy it. Thanks for reading my blog and hopefully checking out my paperback book.

              Well, Super Bowl 51 proved to be interesting and a great game to watch. Atlanta played a great game and it looked like they had it for a while there, but they made a mistake and let the Patriots back in it and that was that. It was a Super Bowl of historic moments, catches and scores and many records too. Congratulations to The New England Patriots, Owner Bob Kraft, Coach Bill and QB Tom Brady and all the team ! Best Super Bowl Ever !

            Next subject folks, my latest book is still incomplete in my mind do I am working on thoughts to make Robbie’s Vengeance longer and a little better, for a re release.

               In The mean time, I have released Corner of Danger and Trouble Streets in Create Space and hope some will try it and like it. It tells an interesting story of a hunt for a murderer, who kills because of sexual abuse and more, and then disappears as not one generation, but two of Detectives family look for the killer. and how the killer gets caught finally. Happy Super Bowl Sunday All

         Super Bowl Weekend is here. The New England Patriots, who have won four so far, will be challenged by the Atlanta Falcons a team that has won none. In my opinion it should be a decent game.

          Two high powered offenses will be on the field, two fine quarterbacks leading them too, so scoring shouldn’t be a problem.

           It will indeed be settled the game by the defenses, and who has the better one. Can the Falcons get to Brady? Will the Falcons get nervous because it’s their first time there? We shall see, if Atlanta can stay calm and not be riled by the crowd, they stand a chance to win is all I will say. I will never pick the game, for we all know how they go, but, I can hope for the Falcons to win, for they haven’t one one yet. I always back the underdogs, lol!

Morning all and Happy February third 2017. I am still working on my writings, trying to make it better, rewriting and expanding some of my books and trying to think of new subjects to write about, how about you?

I find myself at times, going back to look at older books I wrote and trying to expand them and make the endings more interesting. I recently went back and added to my Corner of Danger and Trouble Streets book, adding a Epilogue to it. I just hope some will buy it, and like what they read.

As to other things in life, I am now 61, turned it on January 25th, and feel no different due to age these days so far. I sometimes look back over my life and wonder did I do enough, more than likely not, but I tried. I graduated Elementary School, I dropped out of High School to work for a living in a factory, Then went and got a GED here in Connecticut and joined military. I did 16 years in the military, in three branches total, Army, Army National Guard and Navy.Have been married twice and have 2 daughters and one step daughter, and 6 grandchildren, not bad. At least on those counts right?

Next I returned to school in College, to Graduate with an Associates Degree in Hotel Management with a 3.7 average out of a possible 4.0, Earned Awards doing so too, and am a member of two Honor Societies. Managed a Hotel for a while then moved on to restaurants which I hated lol.

Now, I am retired with six degenerative discs in my spine, and I try to write books as I take care of my wife who has breast cancer spread  to bone cancer. We fight each day in keeping her alive and continue to keep keeping on.

I am closing in on 70 works I have written now and sold a few, not many for sure and wish to get better and sell more. As stated above, I redid the ending to my Corner of Danger and Trouble Streets and I think improved it some.          Voices in your head? Stories floating in there of people you have known? Yet when you start to write it down or type it out it all comes out jumbled and doesn’t sound right when you read it back? Be careful of those voices my friends, no, I don’t mean your going crazy or losing it, what I mean is you are writing in first person, than third person and mixing them. Remember to stay in either  first person, or third person all through your story if you don’t, Oh what a tangled mess you create, not only for yourself, but for any editor or publisher or reader too. So remember if your telling it from one characters stand point stay with that character unless they move away or die in the story. Many will confuse it and lose the reader, try not to folks.

              I like doing Murder Mysteries or thrillers and everyone once in a while a Romance will hit me and I will jot it down and later expand it into a romance. Romances must be told from the perspective of the one telling it, for there is really no way, of knowing for sure how the other other person is thinking or feeling. So it is a one person perspective of their own feelings and whether they believe it is being returned to them too. If they do, then the story may get overly mushy for many, so don’t go too far with that aspect.

            Finding your niche so to say is not easy when you write for at times you may mix them and try to make it work, and that again can cause confusion and a problem. What I try to do mostly as I said above, is write either mysteries for all to read, or romances, if they hit me as a good story.
