Aging and the Problem with it.

Aging and the Problem with it
Ever notice when your young, you want to be older to do all the things adults do, like drinking, smoking and others items, but when you get old enough to do them you don’t have the time, or health or want to do them anymore? When your young your body os healthy and you can take on anything, try anything, and get away with anything, because your young, but when ya get older you get cautious and smarter.
The biggest problem with aging is simple not only do you do it mentally and experience wise but you do it physically too. Imagine if you would, being a virile young 16-year-old with the same knowledge you have at 30? The things humanity could do then right? We would all be like Supermen and Superwomen, smart and still energetic and strong enough to do it all!.
The problem with aging is, that after you get to a certain age, 50 and up, everyone starts to look at you as a senior and no one bothers to help you. The next biggest problem with aging is, people want to take away the benefits you earned that you paid into all your life and you expect to have for retirement or assistance. Why? I will never understand it that’s for sure, but when one has to fight to keep Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security, or Disability or all of the above something is really wrong. We all paid into these plans, in good thoughts and for our own security when we do age, but now, Congress wants to take it all away from us.
Before I go on, there is one thing for all to remember, I know, I know, your all going to say, there are too many of us baby boomer children for these programs to pay for and it will put the country broke. I give you my thought on this one, we didn’t ask to be born a part of a baby boomer spurt or era or years, but we are here and we deserve what our ancestors and mothers got for assistance also, we paid in. So stop trying to blame the numbers of elderly for the problems in Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and stop borrowing the money from our assistance programs we paid into for other things in government, and lets replace what you took out and borrowed and no one will hurt without benefits then.
The problem with aging is looking back and knowing now that if you had the hindsight at a younger time in your life you would have done things different, We can’t roll back time, nor can we ignore what sits in front of us. Due to the fact the 1950s and 60s, produced a baby boomer population we now have roaming America, you can’t take from them the benefits they earned working and paying into all their lives. Wake up and leave the elderly alone, stop borrowing from Social Security, leave Medicare and Medicaid alone, what else will we have in our old age? Before you touch these programs and harm us aging americans and your forefathers and mothers, stop and think, what will you in the end have to fall back upon once we are gone, if you destroy Social Security and Disability payments and take away Medicare and Medicaid now? Unless you come up with a better solution, I suggest you fix what exists and make it solvent and reliable for the future.
Other wise, those who can’t afford to buy their own insurance and who rely on Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, will come knocking at your doors in rural america and asking you for help personally. Would you like millions of baby boomers on your doorstep asking why you cut benefits from them. I think not, so wake up!
Election 2012
Election 2012
This election cycle in the USA has been one comedy show after another by the Republicans and continues to be the worse mess I have ever seen a political party run out. Why, do this to yourselves and know in the end who ever is the nominee will never beat President Obama. You gave up way too much time and effort killing one another off, it’s stupid childish and ignorant.
This Republican Primary is not an election cycle it is indeed a circus of clowns throwing pies in each others faces, to make themselves look better is all. It does indeed and will forever in my book, remind me of old Three Stooges shorts, attached to movies. When will these Stooges get their act together and all work together to beat one opponent, well maybe never, making President Obama’s second term a great possibility and likely outcome.
As the calendar flies by and the days and months count down to November, it is highly getting more realistic that President Obama will indeed get his second term and chance to straighten out the economy in full. Will it be good for America or bad? That folks is yet to come, for only time can tell what shall happen next.
So, as the circus of the Republican Stooges continues to entertain Americans and the world, I wonder when Moe=Mitt Romney, will finally stand up and bang Larry=Santorum, Curley=Gingrich, Shemp=Paul’s heads together and tell them to get the hell out-of-the-way!. If not soon then, there is no real sense in running a General Election for President, the outcome is now a foreseen conclusion.
Break up The Republican Stooges !
Break up The Republican Stooges !
Republicans it is time to unite and make Mitt Romney your Nominee and run a full pledged and fledged Election Cycle against President Obama if your going to compete!. The problem with continuing this dog fight between four candidates is you all know you won’t win and are scared of winning really. You believe the country is in a mess and the Democrats are responsible and you don’t know if you can fix it all !. Now that is the truth, is it not, you really just want to make a scene and a song and dance out of this and you know President Obama will kick anyone’s ass you put up there!.
In American History this little act of a long primary fight is silly and we all know it. It is a delaying factor as well as a factor of saying to your opponent, we can’t decide who we want ourselves so how can we beat you!. In the end this game of the Stooges playing Republican Candidates has to end and to run this all the way to the Convention is crazy and stupid and a disaster for who ever you pick as a party. President Obama and the Democrats will most likely win reelection and take a slate of democrats into the House and Senate with him, at this rate.
Politics in America affects more than just Washington, it affects people’s lives at home, medically, and more. It affects people’s work climates, jobs and in the end how they live each and every day. Oh I know all these elections and politicians running around, don’t seem to do much do they for us poor average americans, and your right. They earn big pay checks, have plenty and do very little other than rant and rave and talk. What ever happened to real politicians who get the job done and pass real laws and bills that affect the country and it’s people in good ways?
Sadly we have Santorum running about making statements he shouldn’t, Romney fumbling things too, and Gingrich and Paul playing along in this adventure show. These four are indeed the Stooges having a squabble over who should lead, it’s a comedy act, the country can do without, folks.
Even if you Republicans agree to disagree, the numbers show Romney=Moe, will more than likely be the nominee and that the other three, Santorum=Larry, Curley= Gingrich and Shemp=Paul, should finally stop the act and step aside, time is running out now. You can’t settle on a nominee, by keeping the comedy act going this way, nor will you have a strong enough candidate to go against the Democrats or President Obama come November.
My Message to the Republican Party is simple now, stop the Comedy Act, break up the Stooges, add the pressure needed to make them drop out, and let Larry, Curley and Shemp go home, and give it to Moe=Romney and lets duke out the election now!
Theraphy and Stories and Facts & WattPad
Theraphy and Stories and Facts & WattPad
As I said in a prior blog people suffer PTSD in different ways and deal with it in different ways. My way of dealing with it is to write stories, poems and rants and raves here on my blog and else where.
My stories range from military ones, to love stories, to sci-fi and more, and even poems I have done. I found a new outlet for many of them now on a web site called WattPad.com. WattPad works by allowing people to submit their stories, books, in different lengths or as compiled by the writer and then helps you promote your writings to the world online.
It has become an outlet for many different people from young adults to older folks like myself to express or release the writings they have done over time for different reasons. It works on many different operating systems including android, and windows that I know of. It contains hundreds of thousands of stories, poems, and more and is free to read and submit to, a great outlet indeed for many.
Many of the sites for Writers online help to teach a writer how to write, how to express themselves and each use the knowledge they gather to write in their own styles and ways. Another great Organization and School for writing is Long Ridge Writers here in Connecticut, I took a writing course through them and the editing they do is great and so is the suggestions they give.
My Stories have now shown up on WattPad, and another website called LongStoryShort has published and accepted my works. It is a proud moment when someone finds out what they wrote is good enough for someone to want to show it to others to read. I have poems and Christmas Stories they published.
The therapy writing produces for PTSD and Depression is great for many, it helps ease the pressure, strains, tensions of the conditions, So these websites and writing sites are to be thanked for their abilities to get people to write in general whether they are a victim of Depression, PTSD or any other mental condition or physical one too. I actually look forward to writing my blog here daily and writing other stories and poems and rants and raves too in other places, it is like a relief valve at times on an old steam-powered radiator!. It helps and is fun.
PTSD and Depression
PTSD and Depression
I remember a Doctor told me when I was just discharged from the military, where I served for 16 years, I would need to find something to let my inner feelings out and make it worth my while. I played with woodworking, model building, puzzles, even reading. In the end the one thing which helped me with my disabilities and my PTSD, was writing. To express myself in words on paper or on a computer and then release it to the world to read, helped me deal with my nightmares, from the Service and childhood. We all deal with life’s bad moments in a different way, some of us let it loose in displays of screaming, some in physical violence, some in other ways, but when you know the anger and feelings you carry can hurt either yourself or someone else you love, you find a way to let it out easier and slower.
PTSD contains memories of violence, anger, beatings, pain and yes even deaths of others. The human mind builds its own defense mechanisms, and the person experiencing it all doesn’t understand why it is happening, or how, it just does to them. Fighting nightmares of bad dreams of events of your past, can get you in the end.
So, my way of dealing with the beatings as a child the incidents of action and destruction in the Services and the nightmares of life, is to write some out on paper or computer and then let the world read about and understand it all. Some victims of PTSD, deal with this in many different ways as I said, and they each have their own stories to tell I am sure.
Dealing with experiences from one’s past is the hardest thing in the world to do, they tend to flash back into your mind triggered by events in current times, or people you react to because of the past. Then you react to the situation or person unconsciously and the result can be hurting someone you had no intention of hurting at all or yourself. It also can lead you into depression, opening another dimension of pain and suffering because you blame yourself for what happens or happened and you start to put yourself down. The two link and when they do, can lead to a bad cocktail of mind problems that can kill the patient or those around them. Careful Medication helps and a relief for the pressure and feeling into words on a computer or on paper does it for me.
No I am not a Doctor, but I am a patient, one who suffers from PTSD, flashbacks and nightmares. One who when he does, gets away from all and finds a peaceful place to relax and to calm the mind down.
So to my fellow ex-service members and those suffering today from PTSD, get counselling, get medication, find a way to tell others your stories, your feeling and relieve the pressure in your minds and souls in someway. Write the nightmares down, and let others see them, don’t blame yourself for actions beyond your control at the time they happened. relieve the pressure by writing, reading, puzzles, medication or more, and live in peace once more if you can.
