Jobs, Jobs and Speeches

Jobs, Jobs, and Speeches

America a country built on blue
collar jobs and manufacturing is not creating jobs anymore, why is that? The
Republicans are giving speeches on creating jobs and promises to do so, The
President as the running Democrat shall unveil his plan for doing the same. So,
who is right or wrong and who should we listen to and support? In fact
Washington is at a crossroads and log jam.
As American’s we made a big mistake in electing a Democrat for
President, and then electing a congress full of Republicans.

The best solution for jobs is a
simple three part process which no politician will tell anyone. They want to
make it so complicated no one can understand and they can never do it once
elected. So, let’s discuss the facts of creating jobs in a simple manner.

Jobs can, not be created if the
people and businesses creating them can, not make a profit doing so, why create
them then? Right or Wrong I am sure many will agree with this.

Next, what all have forgotten, and few
ever will remember is the greatest economy America ever had was built on the
backs of the blue collar workers. The ones who sweated and strained, to work
for manufacturers, who created products, the world used. Now those blue collar
workers walk the streets searching for jobs that exist no more. Why?

We now face two choices simple and
pure 1) Bring back manufacturing to the USA by reducing tariffs and taxes and
cutting back on the trade agreements we made with other countries and selling
more then we receive once more.  Or face
our downfall as one of the greatest civilizations in the history of the world.

The second thing we can do to create
jobs is simple also, stop getting involved in wars and other countries and let
them solve their own problems. Bring our military supplies, weapons and
machinery home and our people and use the money spent on those wars to create
jobs here.

Isn’t it time finally to tell China
and other countries to stop buying our property and say no, as well as start
protecting our own? Haven’t we as Americans sacrificed enough over our history
to help other countries that it is time to take care of our own?

National Guard Heros

To Serve and protect the military motto of the United States American Armed Services, will forever be a part of American History and the History of many who choose to serve. This is a life many choose to live, to protect the rights we were given under our constitution and democracy in the world. Freedom is what keeps us going and the military is the way we ensure it. Those of us who have served, do not do it for our own personal welfare or wants, we do it to protect the rights and privileges and the families we left behind so they can grow up peacefully and safe. We do what we do in the military to protect home and family.

I served in three different branches of the United States Military, I started in The U.S. Army, but did not like it, nor did I last in it, I ended up leaving it due to immaturity. Then, went on, to join, the Connecticut Army National Guard, and then finally serving in The United States Navy for 12 more years. So Military life, was and is ingrained in me as a Disable American Veteran.

Naval stories I tell all, the time and people laugh at the ones I tell. I have been told some are good enough for publishing. SO I thought I would attempt to tell a story from my time in the Army and Army National Guard. My first job in the Army was as a M-88 tank retriever driver. I hated it, slushing through mud to tow out broken tanks. My second military experience was in the Connecticut Army National Guard and I became a Machine Gunner Scout then. I learned many tricks in warfare and field experiences from some of the best in the business in my mind, who, were actual Vietnam Veterans. These men were the best America had in my book and helped me mature and grow as a man I served proudly with them in the Guard and would do so again if I could, for they represent the best there ever was.

But like many Veterans, these proud men, suffered from the same thing I now suffer from PTSD, Post Traumatic Shock Disorder. Nightmares, flash backs, inability to sleep and certain circumstances that will make grown men not be able to sleep normally. And yes, I say men, but as we all know, the fact is women are included all so, so I shall say my fellow military Veterans of all sexes and ages and races. Sadly, war, and military life can affect all of us and in the end it also proves we are all equals no matter what gender, race, nationality or any other damn thing.

The National Guard Unit I served in is a small one in a small Connecticut town. We were called weekend warriors, playing war games in case we were ever attacked on the home front. But each, drill meeting or two week camp, each year brought all in the unit closer together and we depended on the senior members to lead and teach us. Among these men, were two, who to this day stand out in my mind and will forever more. Armand and Louie I call them, they were two Sergeants who served in Nam, and knew the ways of war, and suffered for it in many ways.

Once a month we would meet at the Armory and drill and take apart and clean our weapons, and clean jeeps and equipment. Listen to lectures and lessons in war and learn tactics we would need if anything occurred. A typical weekend drill would start on a Friday night for many of us, we would meet at the Amory, and hang out together even sleeping there. Fridays were for the men of the company to get together and have fun, card games and drinking then war games on the weekend. It was fun indeed at times and at other times very serious indeed.

For Armand and Louie, the drills were serious things and put them back into war mode when the real war games began. I remember starting one such weekend on a Friday evening and learning more then I needed to know about these two men who served so proudly and took the time to teach us younger solders things that would save our asses later. It began on a Friday at the Armory with beer, and drinks and cards. As I said we all stayed there together and had fun.

We gathered and ordered in pizza for the evening, laid out our equipment for the next day, and settled in playing poker. As the evening wore on, I lost money and they laughed about it and I didn’t care I was with real men who had served and I learned from them even at cards But I learned even more about these men by the things they mentioned about being in Nam and the nightmares they talked about at the time. At first I didn’t believe them and thought they were messing with my mind till that Friday night.

As the night wore on, we slowly got drunk and the card game ended. We all decided morning would come soon enough for us, and we cleaned up all the garbage and headed for the old sleeping bags and rest. We all slept in the same locker room and it was a team thing.

As we settled in to sleep I remember seeing Louie in his special hat. It was unusual and different then al the ball caps we wore, I only saw it in shows on tv, in movies and that was it, it was a camafloge hat with a wide brim. Louie love dthat hat and even slept in it and I wondered why. I found out that night.

We all fell asleep around 11 pm, drunk and out of it. But, we didn’t sleep long. Around 2 am it began, first with shouts of Run, Down, Hurry!. I woke in a flash when I heard it coming from Louie that night, but I didn’t move,.Louie, was asleep, his hands grasping his hat down over his head laying there, his legs moving like he was running in place. The sweat was running off his forehead, and the lights were on. I didn’t know what o do, he got louder and louder and moved more and more. It had woken me but it also woke Armand, his friend. Armand waited a bit longer laying there like me in silence watching Louie. He told me don’t do anything, don’t get close and whatever you do don’t try to wake him. So, I watched Louie run an dthen finally wake up in a cold sweat, trembling and soaked in sweat. His eyes popped open wide and he jumped straight up out of the sleeping bag ready to kill someone!. I was scared and shocked, but he opened his eyes and I could see it dawn on him slowly as to where he was. He finally relaxed and started to calm down. When he was normal I asked if he was ok, he said yeah, happens all the time and climbed back in his sleeping bag and fell fast asleep. I looked at Armand who, gave me a grin and said I will tell you later sometime.

That weekend we went North to New York for training in the field, as we drove up, we managed to take a side trip at Armond’s suggestion. The neighborhood package store, we took a army trailor pulled by a jeep, loaded it with ice and beer. We had to have something to drink after war games. We set the tents up and lite fires that night and gathered round before sleeping. Drinking the beer and booze we each bought, relaxed us to sleep after training all day. And I was about to get Louie’s full story that night.

Turns out like this, in 1968 in Vietnam, Louie was in his base with is unit. All was quiet and fine in the field that nite according to Louie and no one knew what was coming. So, they set out the guards for the night, and all went to sleep. Louie was in his sleeping bag in his tent when it all occurred. He never knew it at all. Till he awoke and came out of his tent he had no idea.

At dawn the next morning Louie awoke and climbed out of his sleeping bag all dressed and grabbed his rifle to head out. When he came out the tent flap, it hit him, he was alone it was dead silence. Scanning around there were bodies everywhere, his whole unit was dead! Louie had slept thru a slaughter of his whole unit and he was the last survivor!. Sadly, the unit was wiped out, while Louie slept and for some reason they missed him!. Louie survived yes, but would never be the same.

In the end, this is why Louie could not sleep in the dark at any time. He had to have light at all times when he slept or he would awake thinking he was under attack. Armand had known the story far before me, because they were both Vietnam Veterans, Armand told me now that Louie told me his story, he now trusted me and all would be fine, next time. I learned then as I know now, military life can get you in the end and affect you forever.

Comic Books and Characters

Growing up in the 1960s’ comic books were still cheap at a nickel a shot and slowly rose in price over the years. But what was great about comics, was it was a make believe world you could escape to to get away from real life as a kid. You could dream of being Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Spiderman or Thor or Iron Man or whoever you wished to be. The stories were always of people in trouble rescued by people with super hero powers. in make believe world of course. I used to stand in the store at the comic rack and escape into the stories, to get away from real life problems in my family and life. And I know for a fact millions of other kids did the same, for the same basic reasons, it made family life and problems disappear and easier to live with.

Now the price of comic books is around five dollars a shot for some of them and it will kill the comic book industry. Sadly the heroes, we grew up with will slowly disappear and the fantasy worlds will too. Even with the add on of movies and DVDS on these characters and fantasy worlds, the price of being creative and entertained by it is getting far too high. What will happen to the worlds and characters and fantasies many of us escaped to as children, that my friends is still a question top be answered! But for me as a child, escaping into comic books keep me sane and stable and kept me happy. That and old books and board games. The simple days when not everything was electronics and video game.

A Lil Prayer

Lord I am not perfect, Lord I am not great, Lord I do love and very few do I do hate. Lord you made me who I am, in the end I am a Human and it is that I can be, for Lord you made me, to be me!

Why do ex-‘s act stupid?

I was divorced way back in1992 and my ex-wife took my daughters of course and raised them. She falsely accused me of crimes I did not commit, and I almost went to prison for it, but I didn’t. I gave this woman what she wanted her divorce because of problems in her family not mine. I have nothing to do with any moles testation or sexual abuse to anyone, her father did. Yet I ended up in a divorce because of that situation not my situation. When you marry someone do yourself a favor check for family problems ahead of time, they hide them well, I found out and they pass them on to their children if they get a chance. One one mistake when I got divorced was walking away from my daughters and leaving the state I was in. But as we all know, once a woman says divorce and requests it, us men have no legal leg to stand on and fight with, nor are we set up to raise children on our own. SO we make logical choices and use logical voices and carry on and start over, never forgetting what we left behind.

I followed the laws and instructions of the courts, even though I was innocent completely of any charges when I was released. Be careful men, if you marry a woman and you do not know what her father or mother did to them growing up it can get you jail for 10-20 years. They pass on their stories of sexual abuse and molestation to their children who then make false accusations. It happened to me, but I survived it. Women of divorces are also vindictive about those divorces towards their ex’s for no real reason. It happens, believe me, I know I live with it daily. Any Way.

I have two daughters, from this woman and both are beautiful and smart, yet, different I must agree. But besides their differences with one another I love them both equally and would do what ever I can for them and their children too.  But, recently, I have grown upset and angry with what I see from my daughter, on her Face Book Page, but, I know also her mother is controlling it right now. All of a sudden my ex’s second husband is named as her father, that’s crap. So I sent him a message telling him he isn’t her father and I sent my daughter one telling her I didn’t appreciate seeing this. My Ex-wife is an idiot at times and she will do anything she can to get at me including this bull. But I shall endeavor on and be a bigger man then she is a woman and let her take her Zoloft and carry on.

When you ask for a divorce , you get what you want and you still hold anger over it, over 20 years later, it kind of tells me you didn’t really want the divorce in the first place and your sorry you made the mistake. Grow up and realize you made the decision and I accepted it is all, don’t ever blame the one you decided to hurt for what you did, blame yourself and grow up!.

May 30th, 2011 Memorial Day

I am not Superman, I am not made of steel, I am a human made of flesh and blood and bone, who as a veteran fought so you can have a home, that is free and clear and you can sleep without fear! Do not disrespect us, do not forget us!. That is all a Veteran will ask for!

Memorial Day 2011

As we hit the end of May 2011, and Memorial Day Weekend arrives, and the partying and barbecues start and the beach runs too, take a good 5 minutes and stop and think, about the Men and Women who give this freedom and these rights to you. Honor the Veterans, and give them a thought, for they obviously did you during their time in service, say Thank You and be respectful is all a Veteran will say!.

ManKind and Gods.

Mankind and  Gods. Strange subject maybe but a realistic view of this may open some eyes in America and the World. Many races and ethics run the world some believe in God as a Christian does, others as Muslims do or Buddhists do and so on. But one belief runs solid through all religions and races, and that there is a supreme being who created all that is here for some reason. Mankind has not found that reason yet, but we all believe there must be a reason no matter who we are, for why else would mankind be here? Good question right? Well I believe, all of us have a purpose here on earth that we must accomplish in order to return to from which we came, so to say.  Amazingly, some think I am crazy for thinking this way, but in fact I think more people need to take a better look at it all.

We are all born on this planet for a reason of that I have no doubt, but I believe we are given a bunch of missions to accomplish while here on earth and when we finally fulfill those missions one by one through life’s process, we slowly age, till we complete the final mission assigned to us and finally we pass on to return to where we ultimately came from, the side of the God we love and all know exists in one form or another. The missions we are assigned to complete are not known to us, nor can we readily determine what they be, but the process of our lives shows us things we know we must do and we do them. So, is it all fate, circumstances, or good and bad luck or what? In the end we do not control our lives very much if you stop and think about it all. We are born into families and we have no control over whos’ family we are in, do we? So we struggle to grow up and old enough to start our own family and away we go. It’s all a process inbred in our genes and in us, that is far beyond our control.

So the next time you hear someone say God Help Me, or God Save Me, or anything along that line, stop and think about yourself and those around you and what you all may believe, and remember to yourself and for everyone else also, we are all here to complete certain missions assigned to us by a being who created all of us, destiny has nothing to do with it really, it’s in out make-up, our genes and the way we are.

Random Thoughts in April 2011

Well April is running along at a quick rate for me. The rains have not let up it seems for long at anytime this month. It can be depressing then Easter comes along and finally one day of sunshine before we are set back to rainy days once more. Seems the weather systems are messed up and global warming does exist George W. Bush, just you don’t realize it.

As I grow older I find certain things in life, do not change and others change constantly. The sun, the earth and such stay the same within reason of course, we have disasters everyday but, they are natural ones.  The unnatural disaster of people’s makings are the biggest and worse ones.  Why society produces child molesters and people who damage children who are innocent, is beyond me, but it happens and children are also killoed and it is sad.

The world it seems is not always a beautiful place for all who live in it as we all now know, Disasters that have swept the world and affected so many lives continue to occur and no one can stop mother nature, except father time as we all know.

Well next subject may spring come soon for all of us, may the sun start shinning through. May the darkness clear and days be bright, and may we all sleep at night, in peace. May the children we brought upon the earth live and prosper in peace and happiness. May they have all they need to live comfortably and happily and their children also in future years.

In The end, the one thing we can all be sure of, is we were all put upon the earth to accomplish certain missions or thing which ever one wishes to call them. When we finally accomplish all we were put here for, we slowly run down it seems our spirits slowly diminish and we go back to from whence we came. All I ever want to be remembered for is being a decent person who cared enough to do what he could for those he loved. That is all a man or woman can ask for .

Sports and Fun and Hopes

Every Spring Baseball starts with promises of your team making the World Series in the Fall, but for very few does it ever happen. I have watched my team, The Red Sox fall by the wayside more then once in my 55 years of life. Sadly, money can’t buy championships like many may think. You can get the best and still not win in the end, because it all depends on luck, and whether your players play as a team, and if they are on their game. The Yankees each year spend more and more money and get more players and rotate them through. The Red Sox try the same and find out they can’t do the same as NY can. It’s also a matter of team chemistry too. Anyway, we root on the teams we want to reach the Playoffs and World Series and have fun doing it, win, lose or draw. For a real fan, doesn’t drop a team because they are losing they hang in there and keep supporting them and believing in them. A fair weather sports fan is not a fan, it’s just a person who jumped on board for the good time ride.

Next, NFL and the so called shut down. Come on now Owners and Players what they hell you fighting over? Billions are to be had by the teams and the league and millions upon millions by the players. So lets stop the bullshit and get it back on track. I don’t care who concedes or who wins, just when September hits I want NFL Football, period.
