Politics and Wars/ Bring it all Home!

Politics has led us into wars just for the purpose of men, trying to prove they are better leaders then other men. Sadly we as patriotic Americans end up following their policies and commands cause these are men we elected to the White House.  Korea was such a war and so was Vietnam. We had no business in either war but we lost millions of Americans to them, not counting the disabled ones who came home. Now we are at the same trap in Iraq and Afghanistan, we can’t continue to police the world!. Nor are we able to police or control other countries in this way, so why do we do it?

Afghanistan does care one way or another if we are there and our soldiers and sailors  are dying for what? Their so called newly elected Government there is corrupt as they come, and we still try to install it and keep it in power for what? The Russians failed in Afghanistan and they are closer to it then we shall ever be, so why are we traveling half-way around the world to help a nation that doesn’t really even care about itself, never mind who helps them?

Iraq was a stupid mistake, made by a stupid American President, who really thought he was doing right by taking Saddam down. In fact we had no business there either and for that war we are suffering, just look in our VA Hospitals in the States.  We have American veterans being sent to Iraq still and even more being sent into Afghanistan and for what reasons, please someone tell me what good reasons we are there!.

America needs to wake up and slap their own faces, we are being foolishly led to wars we have no idea what for!

The best solution to all of this is simple America needs to pull back and stop helping others so much, Lets  bring home our troops, bring home our materials, save our troops and money and help our own here in the states. If we stopped feeding the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and brought it all home and placed it on the homeless, and jobless we have here, no one would be out of work or a place to live, nor hungry! We ignore our own Veterans, Homeless and unemployed, and give so much to other nations, it is tile we give less to them, and more to our own.

NFL Wild Card Weekend-Halfway

Saturday produced the ends for two NFL Teams. The Saints found their season ending in Seattle. The Seahawks played one heck of a game holding Brees and the Saints the way they did. But The run by Lynch is the real story for at least 5 Saints defensive Players missed tackling Lynch as he powered his way to the end zone.

Then later in the evening as The Colts and Jets went at it in Indy, The Jets made the last seconds count, perfectly and the field goal beats the Colts and Manning, by one point!. Both very good games to watch and entertaining indeed.

Today, two more games will be played. Baltimore will go into Kanas City and see how it fares against the Chiefs.  This one may be a defensive struggle folks and if any team should be favored here  it should be the Ravens. The Chiefs are young and upcoming and Cassel is a decent QB, but the Ravens are built on defense. Look for another low scoring good one here!

Then we shall get the Eagles hosting The Packers, this game will be a shootout between Vick and Rodgers if I am right. Who has the better defense may be the key here, and right now going in to the game that may be the Packers. In the end though look for turnovers to be the decider in this game if you ask me.

Saturday January 8th, 2011 Ranting

The big snow storm got us yesterday, seems we may have a good foot of snow here in our area of Connecticut. Just the reason I did buy my snow thrower a couple of years ago. Ah will take a good hour to two to dig out but I will get it done. Can’t fire it up till 7 am, not right to wake folks earlier then that.

Today starts the NFL Playoffs too. But for me not too sure I will watch much of them, although I will probably watch the Super Bowl in February. While I love the NFL, my wife doesn’t so it is a battle every year during football season, but that life, anything you may like or want bad enough you have to fight for! Way I see it anyway of all the teams left this year in playoffs, the favorite is New England Patriots for sure, so maybe another Super Bowl ring for them me thinks, unless they get surprised.

Well, the Republicans have taken over now in the House and want to take steps to try and repeal Obama’s Health Care Reform. I doubt very much if they can repeal it, if they are smarter they should try to fix it is all. National Health Care is needed in America it is all in how you do it that really count and on what will be covered or not covered. If Congress has a brain and the Republicans do too, they will just examine it and fix the loop holes in it and make it work correctly. If They do repeal it, medical and dental costs in the USA will fly upwards into billions more then they are getting now. I am not a politician but, even I know Insurance companies and medical, hospitals, Doctors will take full advantage if Health Care does get repealed.

Final line for today, New England gets socked with snow a good three maybe four times per winter here in Connecticut. And it seems to me people are not intelligent enough in a state that gets snow all the time in winter, to realize each year after the first snow storm or two, that you have to leave extra time to get where you are going, it takes time to clean and clear roads and driveways and walks and things do ice up and re-ice after melting each time it happens. So, I think if your smart in New England you prepare for it ahead of time and reschedule as needed and work around it as needed by leaving earlier to get any where. Use your brains folks and keep safe out there.

Is America Done or will we Overcome?

Each day brings news of businesses going under, companies closing, job loses and unemployment rises, why? America is the best job market in the world really, it is the way the market is changing that is screwing us all up. America was built on Blue Collar Factory work, not white collar jobs. Too many common men and women who only know blue collar work are out of it and can’t switch to white collar, because they can’t afford the education for it. If they get a loan for it they can’t figure how to pay it back and hold the jobs they got, because of  the background they have is only in blue collar areas. Ah whats the sense no one listens anyway!.

The Republicans are taking over again and now want to unfund Obama’s Health Care Reform so it flops. This will only make a bigger mess out of the health care situation not help it. Obama’s Health Care Reform should stay in place and only be tweaked and fixed as needed as it grows and gets in place, not be revoked or repealed. Somehow I think America made a bad choice, changing The house to Republican and leaving the Senate to Democrats and White House too. Americans will suffer for this choice we made  on election day. The Gridlock it will cause will be crazy and jobs and the economy and the American people will suffer big time as all grinds to a halt in Washington.

In America’s hey day so to say, this country was built on the backs of blue collar workers and blue collar jobs, not white collar for sure. Americans are always ready to put in a good days work for a good days pay, if they are treated fairly in all ways and aspects. What we need is businesses that can create, innovate and invent products blue collar workers can make. We need to give some tax incentives to the manufacturers  and companies that do this. America needs to go back to the time of elbow grease, inventiveness and hard work for a far pay and benefits. Lets not continue to demand more and do less, lets do our fair share and get paid decently in all ways and make jobs stay!.

The bottom line is, America you want to survive you have to work for it and this country was built on the back of farmers, factory workers and blue collar types, and they are now out of work, shut down and have no place to turn, lets get Uncle Sam to give them incentives, and a helping hand to get going again and encourage them to move forward and do more. As long as no new factories or farms are being made and run in America and we are stuck in the status quo we are in trouble!. Americans unite and tell Congress and our President to stop messing around and lets build the economy stupids!.

January 3rd, 2011, Computers, Video Games and TVs

A pet peeve of my Step-father’s when I was growing up was this thing they call television or TV. The reason is simple he would say, it was made for watching when all your work and chores and play was done for the day, not all the time. Then he would kick us kids out of the house and make us go play with others. Today, parents don’t do that to their kids, they let the TV, Computer or Video Game System babysit for them. Due to that we now have kids in America who are over weight and mentally behind the world, cause they are not participating in it. Sadly again few parents understand what they are doing to their child and they just keep on doing it.

America’s children need to be smacked once in a while to set them straight also. Now I am not saying beat your child till they behave, no, I am saying there are occasions  when a child needs a good smack upside the head to get them going in the right direction. The America we have today is sadly what I call The BIll Cosby Society! The Cosby Show in the 1980’s created an atmosphere of  don’t hit your child talk to them. That leads us right where we are today. We went from a society of  helping one another to the me society of today in America.  In The 1950’s- 1960s and 1970s, we were a all for one and one for all society that would stop and help someone if we could and it worked. We are now the me society and screw you, I come first. The best example of it all is ; Drive down a road anywhere and see a broke down car, and a person stuck. Used to be Americans would stop and help someone change their tire, or give them a lift to a gas station or a phone.  Today people drive right by you and don’t even look twice, leaving one to walk to where they need to go. Sadly it’s now a me, me, me society and America has changed and adopted to it.

Folks Video Games and Computers and TVs are all fine forms of entertainment when one has nothing else to do.  They are not built in babysitters for your children, nor should they be allowed to be brain drainers, the way they are. Wake up, kids know more about whats  on tv and on the internet and how to beat a video game, then they know how to add, subtract, or read why? What wrong with making a kid pick up a book and read ? Nothing! Ah I rant and no one listens the truth be, we are becoming a society of nerds and lost souls who can’t survive without electronic devices to play with. Wake up time is here, you child can’t pass his or hers courses in school and get decent grades, well then they don’t need electronic toys they need books and teaching.

Anyway, away we go with 2011, Welcome to it folks!

Week 17 NFL Thoughts and more!

Today is the final weekend of the NFL Season for 2010-2011.  The Season has been surprising in very few areas to me. The Chiefs of Kansas City are a surprise, as are the coming of The Rams. The biggest shock is the fall of the Vikings!  Who will win it all is still to be determined because I think it all depends on the final entrants to the Super Bowl race, the Playoffs. Somewhere in there could be a dark horse team that can get on a run and win it all.  Time shall tell us for sure, but, I believe the Favorites will be The New England Patriots.

As the second day of 2011 is now underway, I pray that our government here in The United States can agree and help it’s people create jobs and survive. I know the Republicans won one house and the Democrats own the other and the White House, but can both parties find compromise and move us forward is the real question!  Remember what they told President Clinton, you politicians up in Washington, it’s the economy stupids! No blue collar jobs means many Americans out of work and unemployed, get creative and find a way to make more blue collar jobs to turn us around will you?

Final word for the day, On this day in 1982, my eldest daughter was born, after I walked her mother up and down the street of Norfolk, Va. for hours on end.  Then I sat in the hospital waiting and waiting until 2;54 am when she was finally born. I learned some patience that day and evening and, I was happier then then ever since, cause I had a child and I was a father. Four years, almost 5 later her baby sister was born and happiness encompassed me again.  Now many years later, my eldest is turning 29 today, and I just want to give a shout out to her,

Happy Birthday Eileen, May your Day be filled with Happiness and Joy and Plenty of Love!

Sorry I can’t be with you!

Love ya,

Dad

2011- A New Year/ a New Beginning but, leftover problems

2011 is here, Happy New Year with all the laughter and cheer! May the New Year bring you health and wealth and joy and love and may each day be brighter then the last!

A New Year begins and away we go, but the old problems still persist don’t you know. The Government is in gridlock to start and it seems the fights shall begin to start. The Democrats want one thing, The Republicans another seems to me that Congress can’t work without a bother! Obama’s Health Care comes into effect and those who are out of work got another year or so of unemployment to save their neck. Taxes will remain the same for the next two years, but by 2012 we shall all be paying more taxes and crying real tears. Sadly someone has to pay to run this Government, and it is we the people who shall get hit with the bill for sure.

I have a recommendation for all, tell Uncle Sam to get us out of all foreign wars and to bring our men and women home. We pay to help and defend other countries, to police them and to help them stay democratic or republics and they do nothing to help themselves or anyone else. Is America the babysitter or the world or what?  I thought we figured out years ago with Vietnam and Korea that we can’t continue to police  other countries or control them in anyway, but no, we rushed in to  Iraq and now Afghanistan.  Why? America wake up please stop our involvement in wars or other countries, and bring our troops and supplies home and lets take care of our own for a change.

We need to reevaluate our purposes and objectives in this country. Take a ride around your areas of the country Americans, look out your car windows and home windows, see your own people fellow Americans, begging for food on street corners and sleeping in cardboard boxes and lets bring home the cash, credit, supplies and troops who we send elsewhere and use them here at home to take care of our own. We seem to give, give, give and ignore our own needy, to such a point, our own are hurting more each day.

Final note for all those politicians and big wigs in Washington, DC, including our charming President Obama, whom I voted for, the Economy is still the  answer !. We need to reinstall manufacturing as the base of the jobs market and expand it in all ways possible, find products we can mass produce that the world wants and needs and lets get moving. Jobs are vital, and America is not built on White Collar jobs, it is built really on Blue Collar jobs and people. We have seen the car factories go, the plastic and steel factories go and many other industries move overseas, cause our towns and states won’t give them the tax breaks they need to survive here, or Unions demand too much and make them leave. Wake up America help these companies stay here so jobs stay here and we can live again!.

Happy New Year to All, and May your New Year be filled, with Health, Wealth, joy and Family and Love!

The end of 2010 and Thoughts for Saving America

2010 started like all years with great promise and hopes for many and ended for many in tears and depression and worse for some.  2010 has been a year of highs and lows so grand that for America we have ridden a roller coaster of financial mess, emotional mess, and wars we don’t need to be fighting.

America wants to turn itself around it needs to reinvent it’s manufacturing base once more, stop feeding and helping everyone else in the world and fighting their wars for them, bring our troops, supplies and money home and spend it on our own problems. We pay to defend and help every damn country we can in the world, yet when we get hit and hurt none come to our rescue do they?

In my opinion, we do not belong in Afghanistan, nor Iraq or anywhere else, to fight their wars and police their countries for them.  They wouldn’t do it for us, so why the hell do we do it for them?  America is the only country in the world that keeps giving so much we hurt ourselves doing so, what are we stupid or just trying to be politically correct always?

Final, rant or rave or discussion for 2010, President Obama did what no other President could get done, he created Health Care Reform and got it through congress to law. Now the Republicans want to repeal the damn law!. Wake up folks, you may fix it so it works better, but you shall never repeal it I am sure. Why is it when something that can be decent is passed one party or the other wants to rip it to shreds and make sure it does not work?

Well, 2011, will be my 55th year on this planet, and I have lived through some serious times in America, when big changes occurred for sure. I lived through the 1960’s, watched JFK  shot and RFK shot and MLK shot and Johnson run the Vietnam war up in numbers. Then I have live through the 1970s, a decade of rock and roll and Watergate, and Jimmy Carter. Changes and warnings is what I called the 1970’s that decade was filled with it all. The 1980’s brought us small wars here and there and counter attacks by our military against others here and there, I know I served those years and did my duty. The 80s were filled were the Cosby mentality too, don’t hit your child talk;k to them, and it produced the 80’s kids who are lazy, won’t work and expect things handed to them on a platter. Then we hit the 1990’s in America, the decade of corruptions, scandals, money laundering and schemes, and more fighting to protect others as our supplies and weapons and personnel got sent to other countries once more. Sadly, we have yet to learn not to police other nations for them, we should have by now, look back folks at Vietnam, Korea please and stop the bullshit!.

Now decade  since the beginning of the 2000’s we still sit here as a country trying to police, protect, and help other countries, now it is Afghanistan. The Russians tried the same thing for decades and they got swamped and beaten down by it all too, and they were Afghanistan’s neighbors actually and much closer then we are. We should withdraw and let them kill each other and say the hell with it, we don’t need out men and women of our military killed for no reason other then we want to police them and help them, they wouldn’t help us!. It’s time America pulls back, takes care of it’s own and gets out of the wars of other countries and takes care of it’s own. Bring our troops home, bring our supplies home and bring the money we give away home and spend it here in the United States and we can rescue our own homeless, and hurt and help our own.

Will America Compromise or face Demise?

@010 is almost gone one more day after today of course to complete. Amazingly 2010 has flown by quicker for me then most years in the past. Maybe because I know I am now more then 50% gone from life myself. As we age out bodies get weaker, our minds get sharper and we tend to slow down a lot more. But soon to be 55 in January myself, I know that life is not worth living unless you can do thing to make it so. Read your favorite book, do your favorite hobby, live with the ones you love , all are vital to human life. We need to have social contacts, we need to go out and play just like when we were kids.  We need a home, family, friends and lovers, whether you are young enough for sex or not, companionship is it. No person is an island unto themselves!

Slowly the year of 2010 has passed and all I can say is I hope 2011 shall be a better year for me and everyone else too. The politicians need to get on one page. the economy must be turned around and someone needs to tell the government period, jobs, jobs, jobs.

The 1960, we had, 1970. most of we had jobs, but by the end of the 70s things changed and factories and companies said good bye to the USA. Too many taxes, too many demands for higher wages and benefits too. Americans got greedy and now we suffer. America needs to bring back the blue collar worker and industries, soon, or we shall fall below countries that are now considered backwards ones. Wake up America, Wake up Washington!

As I look back at 2010 I see famous people who died, a country that cried, an economy running on three out of four good tires, and a country headed down that proverbial other side of the peaked hill.  The Roman Society, The Mayas, The Incas, all fell from grace and disappeared into the past, so shall the Great Republic of America unless our politicians and we ourselves do something to stop the cycle.

In ending, 2010 was a year of sad discoveries really, economy we found failing and can’t fix so far, Health Care Reform is passed but now one party wants to stop it before it starts. Unemployment and jobs in general are sluggish and dead in the water. What is   America to do?  Somewhere along the line America is going to have to learn a word politically, compromise !

Christmas 2010 was Hospitalized!

For me Christmas 2010, became a  hospital visit that continued through to the 27th from the 22nd. My wife passed out on the evening of the 22nd and ambulance time arrived. Spending Christmas in the Hospital is no fun for sure, but, at least we got her taken care of we think. Turns out more then likely pancreatitis was the cause of her fainting, but things still being tested and checked at this date. Problems still are there, have to keep her diet bland and simple as can be, her eye is messed up from the fainting on a ceramic floor so eye Doctor is needed and Gastrointestinal Professional needed for stomach and  pancreas, we shall see.  Each day is hurry up and wait, by each Doctor as the evaluate and test. Hopefully nothing serious shall be found, one Doctor said she may have passed a stone, time shall tell.

As 2010 heads to it’s ending, I hope and pray so shall all the medical problems we have faced lately. Wife goes down in pain and faints, testing and hospitals and Doctors left and right and then my ears became infected and clogged up completely like swimmer’s ear and I had to get them irrigated and flushed out and take amoxicillin  lucky me . Hopefully I shall be ok.

2010 has been an interesting year uncompromising many things that have happened to us. Politics didn’t go our way, health issues are not going our way either it seems. We have survived a tightening economy, medical costs, increases in cost of living left and right and more. Someone in our government is messing up and should help americans to survive.  Heres to hoping 2011 will be a better year all around for everyone.
