IN Life we all run into things we have no idea how to handle because we haven’t  experienced them before. One of these things is cancer, it is like your own body is attacking you and slowly eating you up from the inside out. You at first only feel like you have body aches and pains that are normal, and you feel down and depressed and don’t know why. Then as it advances, it works on killing any resolve and energy you have to fight it because it is constant. How do I know these things, well three examples come to mind, #1) Bettidean #2) Melinda #3 Myself, yes I have become a cancer victim myself, in my 60s. Cancer doesn’t care if your white, black, Hispanic, Asian or anything else, skin color, nationality have no bearing it gets all of us at a greater rate these days than in the past. It is a disease that mutates cells in your body and makes your body get eaten up and destroyed by it. Sadly, the best defense you have is your own attitude on how you fight back, stay positive, do all the medical experts tell you to and pay attention to advances in medicine and medical treatments for it. I will show you how this affects many of us and how we survive longer than most who have it.

Bettidean  is a very old friend of mine, who was the first girl I ever kissed, and have an infatuation for. It was the 1970s, and we were in our teens, she was 17 I was 15 when I kissed her for the first real kiss I ever gave any girl. .BY the time Bettidean turned 18, She had Ovarian cancer and was battling for her life, She still to this day fights the dreaded disease, and lives on, with a spirit and attitude of , no way I am gonna let it beat me. She survived it, until now and last I knew she has out survived it thru two broken marriages and raising her two healthy boys. Attitude is what keeps her alive and determination to live and enjoy life.

Melinda is my second wife, a woman I will love forever. Ten years ago she was diagnosed  with breast cancer, and yes I took her through chemo and radiation and shaved her hair off and watched her survive it through attitude, determination and the link of our love for one another. I refused to let her give up, and she agreed with me as I sat there reading by her side and to her in the chemo room, the drugs flowing into her and  weakening her each step of the way. Once the Chemo and radiation was over I fed her, and helped her get about as she came back and grew her hair back and her strength. In 2016, January we took her back for a check up, and got hit with bad news again, her breast cancer had spread to her bones, and she is now a bone cancer victim stage 4, the doctor have her on new medications and shots and they are doing the best they can to hold it off, from taking her life. I watch her daily, fed her at suppertime and most of the day she is fine at 76 years old, but age is making her weaker in my opinion, but she would never say it or show it, attitude folks, she stays positive and so do I. Today it is September she is walking around on her own, eating and drinking although the cancer is located in her spine, ribs, shoulder, breastbone and more. She continues to move as much as she can. She sleeps when needed I gave up my lazyboy recliner so she can rest as needed and take naps. So she continues to hang on.

MYself, I am a walking disaster zone really, I suffer from PTSD from my childhood and service times. I have six herniated discs in my spine I deal with all the time and get treated for. I went to the Veterans Hospital for a check up and a cat scan in August of 2013. The results showed my spine messed up and I was also having trouble breathing and had spit up blood. The scan went further and they looked at my Lungs. On August 12th, 2013 I received a phone call from my Doctor at the Veterans Hospital, I have lung cancer they found a spot in my right lung. I was down to the hospital in two days seeing a surgeon for my cancer. Decision was made to take the cancer out which meant I would loose a lobe of my right lung. Surgery was done on September 4th 2013 and I lost a lobe and one third of my right lung to it.  By September 16th, of 2013 I was at Fenway Park Boston Mass. for the Red Sox Yankees game, my sister and her boyfriend provided us seats and  paid for the tickets.  I had survived Lung Cancer and every six months I go in for check-ups, my next tomorrow.  yet I am stubborn, hard headed and won’t surrender to it or anything else. As of today no recurrence has occurred so i am as well as I can be.

               Cancer is a Killer Folks We need to Fight it and find a Cure!

The Month of September arrives and the children go back to school, The Election of 2016 gets closer and weather conditions throughout the world worsen,  America’s economic status remains a problem for all Americans and decisions to change things are frozen by a non working congress. Sadly these are facts all Americans are facing each day, as jobs disappear, and we are given numbers on them by our government that do not include all american workers. Many have been left off the list of the unemployed because they stopped filing for unemployment checks. So lets face the Election and hope for a better future.

Clinton Vs. Trump is becoming a fiasco in many ways. Hillary avoids press conferences and tries not to change a thing on her platform to the public. She runs on her record as a First lady of Arkansas and the United States, and as a former Senator and Secretary of State. She bring knowledge, experience and liberal views to the race.

Trump is trying to upset the apple cart so to say, by entering this race, he did just that by beating out 16 other Republicans in the primaries. But his views are too far to the right and mean spirited and basically crazy. We don’t need a wall on our Southern Border, we have dealt with Mexicans crossing our borders forever, lets face that fact, ok. We are not at war with the Mexicans, so we can’t detain and deport 11 million illegal Mexicans in America and ship them back the cost would be atrocious to say the least. We are talking billions to do this shit he talks, plus he has no plan on creating jobs, improving the economy or on how to handle foreign  policy abroad. His meeting with the Mexican President proves this and if you check closely someone is lying. Guess who?

America has to make a choice for President on November 8th, 2016 and the clock is ticking away as is the calendar. So lets make the right choice folks, take the one with the experience, the vision and the plans that are concrete. One thing that many don’t seem to realize when they vote on November 8th, it will be a two for one election. We get Hillary and Bill. Bill is a great back up for Hillary for advice folks, look at his record in office, his employment numbers and economy numbers. Between Hillary and Bill this country will stay safe, secure and improve it’s job and economic outlook for sure. and who cares  if Bill drops his pants as First fellow so to say. I will put up with Bill’s sexual escapades and ignore them, to have Hillary as President and pushing America towards progress. We all have our opinions folks, but the bottom line is who can do what they are saying and get it done, Hillary is it.

You can’t discriminate against Hispanics, Mexicans, African Americans, the American Indians or any other race in America. You can’t round up and deport 11 million people, and break up their families and not know your breaking the document that found our country.

America has made many mistakes in it’s time as a country, one was importing people and making them into slaves and it should have never happened. We are all created equal for we all bleed, we all cry, laugh, get angry, and we all fight to survive.  We are all the same no matter what nationality, creed or blood line. Your parents, came here from overseas also Mr. Trump, if not them than certainly your grandparents, and if they didn’t you wouldn’t be here now. America accepts all immigrants period and we adjust once they are here and so do they it is an ongoing thing and you know this.

We have given people  a place to come to when they are not wanted or mistreated in their own country, and we have accepted them, because all deserve a chance at freedom and peace.  I agree some are here illegally from Mexico and other countries, but they are not all outlaws, thief’s and criminals as you say they are. Some are very hard working people who came here to escape persecution, or the poor areas they lived in. maybe they didnt know how to do so properly, and they need to go thru the process the correct way and would if people like you gave them a chance to do so. I remind you Mr. Trump the African American Population of the United states didn’t have a choice when they were brought here by boats, from their homes in Africa. And they have adopted our country as their own now and became American Citizens over centuries of hard work and our changing of our laws to accept and protect all. so back the hell off, Asshole !

To ALL Americans I say this, if Mr. trump becomes President you will set America back centuries in time. We can’t allow him to come out and talk like a damn Nazis and Demigod, picking what races or nationality he wants to allow in our country. We can’t allow him to speak with racist remarks and be elected our President, It would be a horrible option for us as a country and in the world.

 

 

         OK, it is now August 24th, 2016, we are now 78 days away from the Polls opening to pick our next President of The United States of America and more than likely a new Congress, due to the inaction of the current now  inactive republican one in office. For the past 8 years, and going back further Congress, both the House and Senate has stalemated the country and government from making any changes period, by blocking anything that makes sense from passing. It’s a sad condition in America, when two parties can’t get together and agree and cooperate on things needed or wanted by the people of the country. I have heard all the excuses, and reasons I want to hear, what i don’t want to hear is more excuses, lets change it folks, we the people can.

We need somethings big time folks, immediately. We need a Health Care Law for all that works and is affordable, what we have now is failing and needs repaired or replaced. We need manufacturing to be rebuilt and jobs created in america and a way to compete in the Global economy we now have. We can’t afford to be left behind in any area, that has to do with the economy Job creation must happen and soon or we can fall so far behind we can become very much like the failing third world countries. Sadly, Americans are too blinded by the bullshit being stated by the politicians who are voting for nothing. we need to vote out the old dawgs of Congress and bring in new hungry ones who want to do something and make a name for themselves. Otherwise the status quo is what we will have again. And if we settle for that, well, we can only blame ourselves, Election Day is our Day, lets do it right. Lets elect new people and make a change, or suffer forever if don’t.

            I support Hillary Rodham Clinton for President and I do so, on the basis of experience, knowledge and skills she has. I hope and pray you do too, for the alternative is Donald Trump, a pompous, no knowledge, blowhard who is for himself and his rich friends, wants to give the rich tax breaks, he wants to deport 11 million people with no plan to round them up or looking at the cost to do so. He wants to build a wall along the Mexican border, and that is not only wrong, but dangerous, for you can and most likely will make the Mexicans angry and upset with us. Wake up Mr. Trump it can be done, but definitely should not be, anymore then we would do it to Canada our friends to the North. You tell people Hillary Rodham  Clinton is crooked, yet have no proof of it, and you make big issues out of bullshit e-mails that mean nothing really to the American People, otherwise you are failing Mr. Trump, failing to impress your own .party officials, your fellow republicans or the american people. Your stand out as a joke to the American People and The world currently and your not smart enough to see it yourself. Sad.

 Mrs. Clinton has written plans and ideas on her website in many areas, and at least makes sense. Yes she has a trust issue that people push, but, the truth is it doesn’t matter in this race against Mr. Trump for he has the same issues and they basically cancel each other out. I will take her world experience over anything he has in his life as far as I am concerned. As of Today Mrs. Clinton had a 12 point advantage in the polls, I hope she wins by 20 points or more, she deserves it no matter what bullshit people want to say.Vote Hillary Rodham Clinton for President folks! 

The saddest thing I have seen today, in the new generation, no one reads anymore, everything is touch screen, digital, pads, lap tops, computers, even televisions. What happened to kids reading comic books, classic stories, mysteries and more?  Give a kid a book and it disappears to later be found, in the back of a draw, closet or in a trash bin. They have no patience at all for reading and that is sad. The world has produced so many great writers and stories and poems it is sad they get wasted and thrown away these days.Today’s generation is so different from when I grew up, we read books, comic books, newspapers and more, and when we didn’t have something good to read we played outside in the yards of America. we played 1,2,3 Red Light, War games, Tag, Shot Hoops, Played Football, Baseball and ran free exploring nature. Today if these kids can’t find it on the internet they don’t do it. Sad really, when I was kid we went to Carnivals, Fairs, We went fishing and had a ball, and swimming in the summers and sledding and skating in the winters. What happened folks where did, America go, at least the one I know!

I have hit 60 years old folks and I know I am no spring chicken, too many years doing things I had to do, like serving my country, in three different branches of service. Carrying M-60 Machine guns, calculating coordinates, steaming ships for the navy, fixing the boilers, climbing in and out of them, and standing watches for my country. Serving my country not for me, but for those I love and left behind, to keep them safe as I took the chances like many of us did, who volunteered in service. We did it for different reasons, but most will tell you, it was to protect America, and the people we love in it.I was a child who was born in 1956 and who really grew up in the 1960s and early 1970s, and my generation was taught respect for elders and manners and caring for others. We were taught you get what you give, and so we came to expect it and learned to love and live with it. Today’s children are not this way as I see it, but it is only my opinion, is it anyone elses?

Different generations for sure, we were disciplined and made to behave by a smack or spanking, some form of physical punishment, which they call abuse these days. Sadly, that type of discipline is needed still, just not overdone folks, we can’t all be Cosby Children raised by talk and expected to turn out just fine. It doesn’t happen that way folks and never will, because a child let loose to do anything he of she wishes will try everything, including violence, drugs, booze and more.Talk is cheap, action is vital!

What do I remember that taught character in children back then, Working side by side with a parent around the house, chores, made to take care of yourself and treat others with manners. Some of us went to churches some did not, but schools were stricter and didn’t allow the stupid shit they do today. Sadly the stricter routines are gone, discipline is lax and life changed to adjust to it.Ever stop and think, what if America went back to the old ways again, and taught as they did back then and raised children that way still? What a difference it would make today? I know some will be saying what kinda bullshit is it I am talking about, but others will understand and know what I mean exactly. Some of us do understand and miss the parents who brought us up the old way, for they made us what we are today. So Stop and Think about it folks!

 

 

        Election 2016- I have heard too many bullshit remarks about the whole process it is getting crazy. Hillary’s e-mail fiasco, Trumps stupidity and attacks on his own party, and stupid statements regarding foreign affairs matters, and why he can’t use Nukes. come off it folks! Don’t you find these things crazy?

 He points to Hillary’s liars and her husbands political problems that have nothing to do with her. She at least points to his failures as a businessman and lack of knowledge period. The Man is lost in space and makes outrageous statements. regarding so many things, it is out of this world. he attacks women as pigs, and sexual items to be used and abused, he wants to stop Muslims from coming to America and attacks the Mexicans as criminals, rapists and drug dealers. He wants to build a wall between us and Mexico, that has never been needed before and is still not needed today, come off of it OK. I just don’t know what the hell he is thinking and neither does his own party that nominated him!  Since 1960, and the Election between JFK and Nixon, there has never been an election so horribly screwed up or embarrassing in this nations history. Has anyone else, nope just ask CNN, FOX, ABC,NBC, or CBS.  It is a sad commentary on American Politics for sure to say the least. And in the meantime our newscasters, all sit there and air all the bullshit between the candidates that makes us look like idiots in world affairs and our own political ones too. 

Don’t the national Television Networks see how they favor Trump on CNN, and pass by comments for anyone else. Or is Donald Trump paying CNN to cover him that way on a constant basis. Why?His Blurbs get covered, his mistakes get covered, his idiot statements get covered and he never says anything worthwhile and they still cover him daily, hours or days at a clip, why?

To All Americans who believe this election is vital and important to the future of  America and who believe in The American Constitution, Social security, Equality, Medicaid, Medicare, Healthcare, Women’s rights, Child Care, who want jobs, and schools for their children  and so much more, this should be your wake-up call right here. If you go to Hillary.com you can see her plans for action in all areas written out for all to see, you can’t see shit at Trump’s. Wake up, the man has no real plans for American in any area, he is espousing bullshit and cons. Don’t fall for it Americans! Do America a favor, derail the Trump Train as fast as you can, it’s a dangerous ride, he is unstable and a loose cannon!

            Ever since I was a teenage boy running the streets of Naugatuck, Connecticut, I have been a sorts relationship adviser for so many people and I always give the same advise that people tend to forget, maybe because you are dealing with romance or even sex. In the end the truth is this you can only love one at a time, you can’t have more than one at a time without destruction happening to at least one or both of the relationships involved. Man or woman, you only have time to commit to one person at a time it takes commitments, effort, honesty and trust, and respect for who you are in a relationship with.Even if the relationship you are in ends, do yourself a favor, get over it before you head into another one.

        1970 was a long time ago for me folks I am now, 60 years old and been married twice, have two daughters and 6 grandchildren in my life. My teenage years, were not filled with girlfriends, I was not a popular boyfriend for the female sex. I was not Mr. super Jock in High School nor was I a dominating figure, I was a guy who had few friends is all. I was too busy chasing dreams in many ways thru comic books and records, hoping to find myself was all as a person, a make then as a young man. many of us did the same back then, pulled between being a student, a babysitter and a worker around the home with dad. It was the way we grew up, I didn’t come from a rich family and I am not rich today. I grew up with a step-dad, and 4 siblings, one a girl, and a mother who was a hard ass and mean and should have never had kids in my opinion anyway. So, I grew up escaping and running from what i had at home.

I grew up hidden in a bedroom with a record player blaring  out sounds from some of the greatest. artists of 1950’s, 1960s and 1970s  and dreaming. Who did I listen to well, Motown, some rock, not much, country music and Jim Croce. Now with Jim Croce was Harry Chapman, Seals and Crofts and Gilbert and Sullivan and Simon and Garfunkel. Singer on the edge of rock, but not really rock, it was what I call folk/rock. Their songs told stories in clear voices and made people think about what they were saying as well as dance and sing. that is the world I grew up in, hiding from the real world protecting myself. 

As Croce disappeared due to his death and Harry Chapman too and Seals and Crofts split up, I grew up and survived listen to Croce and others like him on an old cassette recorder. His stories and music helped formed many Americans thoughts, hopes, fears and dreams and he never knew it before he died. Today, he is still heard in restaurants, clubs and online as that generation he affected so well, reaches back to remember him, enjoy his music and songs and still can sway in their seats to I Got a Name, Roller Derby Queen, You Don’t Mess Around with Jim, and so many great hits. 

The Rock and Roll Hall of  Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, should Induct Jim Croce and Harry Chapman, for their songs were bridges for many over the trouble times of home lives  and history that was rough in america. Their songs made us keep the american values, made us a more peaceful nation and populace and so did the Motown greats too.
