In life like any other creature on the planet mankind must fight his battles too, One for dominance, survival, health and freedom. Mankind  must fight diseases, weather, pain, hurt, emotional and sometimes even mental breakdowns to survive. We do so, each of us with help from other human beings and medical advice, or we struggle on our own and make it, not all are lucky enough to.

As you walk around young and proud and healthy and strong, do you ever stop to think about the ill, the handicapped, the mentally incapable or barely capable? Do you stop to give a helping hand, to say thanks to a veteran, to help an older person cross a street or carry something, do  you hold a door open for others?  Whats the chance of you saying hi to a person in need who wants money to live, needs a place to live or a meal to survive? My guess is you drive by them everyday in America and don’t even bother to pay attention to them! They look like hobos or bums, begging for a buck and a meal, and you fly by saying not me, I have my life to think about, right? It is sad is it not? but true in America!

When I was growing up less people were walking the streets begging for food then today, I didn’t see people with signs in the streets begging for food and help and a roof over their head, why well one big generational difference is why! When I was a kid people learned to walk to school, they didn’t have computers, tablets,, gaming consoles and all the shit kids have today. We didn’t fight with everyone either, we learned to compromise and get along or stay away. We learned to care and help a neighbor, friend or even a stranger out. we grew up in a society of we the people, for the people, not the me, me, me society of today. We have gone and  I have said this repeatedly in past blogs and stories I write, Americans have gone from the we society to the me society and it’s not good folks.

           What happened to the America where if someone had a flat tire people would stop and help? What happened to the people who helped children, not destroyed them, but helped them when they got hurt and smiled because they did a good thing? What happened to kids playing outside in the yards and neighborhoods , with each other and having  fun? Ever stop and wonder why it all changed, what made America the cold place it is today? Do we even know folks, is it prejudice, discrimination, fear , of one another. is it the color of one’s skin, the way one talks, walks or dresses, or is it indeed started in the home by parents who pass the hate and anger of their own lives onto their children? What is it folks, if we could solve it, we could go back to we the people as a society and be the we society again, instead of this damned me, me, me society and move forward together!

     How long can the human body and Doctors fight cancer and keep someone alive, even with the patients full cooperation and ability to fight too? Good question isn’t it folks, for all all know cancer can’t be beat, but I have seen many examples of it held off and stopped even in people. The war is constant on cancer everywhere you go and the people who have it are the most determined and positive people you can know, for they live each day like it is their last. Yet, what are the final numbers against this deadly disease, I don’t know for sure, but I am sure the odds favor cancer.

  I have seen many victims of this disease cancer in my life. it started with my Grandfather on my moms side, he lost his fight in a nursing home at age 71 back in 1970, then a girl I knew and liked , came down with cancer in her ovaries, yet she still survives today, I am glad to see it. Then, it hit my real life father at 55 and killed him, he didn’t know me well or my older brother because of his divorce from my mother when I was nine months old, but it took him too, 1984. 1990 I came home going thru a divorce myself, and found the man who raised me, my step-father dying of cancer  next. He died at 58 years old of lung cancer, good-bye poof. Sadly, he was missed big time by his wife and us kids there were five of us. Then one year and one day later this horrible disease attacked again, it grabbed my mother and killed her one year and one day behind her husband, devastation reigned folks, believe me.

The years rolled by then, and I remarried in 2000, and we are a happy couple in all ways, 2006 came and the phone rang, it was off to another fight against cancer. My second wife has breast cancer and the diagnoses were very pretty at the time. They wanted to cut a her breast off and treat her wife chemo and radiation. I took he rtoa specialist in New York for a second opinion, she kept her breast, She lost her lymph nodes under one arm a total of 29 and I sat by her as she had chemo and radiation, and worried. She still lives today and it is 2014. No more chemo needed or radiation, I had to shave her head by the hair grew back a lil sparsely but still. She is still the woman I love and will stand by forever.

        2012- Again the phone rang, this time it was for me, Mr can you come to the hospital we found something on your test and we need to see you. I was like what did you find and asked on the phone and knew, cancer! Yes I had cancer and would have to battle too. My battle began August 2012 and I still fight the results today. My right lung had cancer, and I needed a lung operation. They would operate that September taking one lobe and one third of my right lung, but I survived. I am here still today and i still hate cancer the word and the disease and will forever. 

2014 is here now, and i am still kicking and so is my wife, we are stubborn and fighters in all ways. But now the question comes as we close in on 2015, will I survive the next year or not? Here is what I see for history folks so you tell me what I should think! My grandfather went at 71, my father at 55, my mother at 59, and now I am 58 soon to be 59 in January myself, so can I survive and make my life go longer then theirs did? Time Shall tell folks, I had lung cancer and survived and now have what is called Barrett’s Disease, it can turn to cancer at anytime and does kill. So what do I do next, except live life to the fullest and hope I can survive. Welcome to my cancer story all truthful!

     Some lessons I learned in life come to mind this morning and maybe should be in others minds too, so I offer some from me to you!

1) Don’t ever be too overly trusting, for if you are people will rob you blind in anyway they can.

2) Don’t fight idiots or fools who want to get physical with you, walk away.

3) Persistence does pay off in the end.

4) Before you jump into any situation, or relationship check the person out fully, you may be wanting to date a                    crazy person.

5) Everyone has dark secrets in their life somewhere, look for them, before they look for you!

6) Survivalist come in many forms, not just the physical ones, but the mental ones too could get you.

7) You can indeed do whatever you want to do and be who you want to be, as long as you use your mind to do it                  and stick to it!

8) if you let foolish pride get in your way, you will never overcome or learn how to get by.

9) Doesn’t matter what you want or need, you can get it if you work to achieve.

10) Remember , you are responsible to make yourself the best person you can be no one else!

11) We didn’t choose our parents, but they choose to make us, we can’t blame them for what we become, we make             our own choices.

12) Finally, but not least, honor, trust, and respect given to others will come back to you, you can’t hurt another and            not expect to be hurt in return, it doesn’t work that way,.

      The USA, yes that us, The American People right, than why on Election Day 2014 did we act like a backwards country and put the White House and Congress at opposing polar points of view to duke it out for two more years? Simple some will say it’s a check and balance system put in place by our founding fathers, to make sure our GOvernment is by the people, and for the people.  What the founding fathers did not count on when they created this Republic and made it a democratic one is, the people becoming so uneducated and lazy, that they don’t even understand what they are doing  to themselves. The American People kill themselves when they give The Senate and House to one party and the White House to another, it becomes stalemate and bogs down any progress, you all will see in the next two years, exactly what I mean. The President will put Bills forward, Congress will block everything he puts out, Congress will put bills forward and The President will Veto anything coming at him. In the end, we will effectively be in the same place from November 5 th, to November 2016 and into 2017 when the next President is in office. We the People did this, and it was a dumb move if you ask me, we can’t move America Forward by electing opposites in the key places. Sadly, american’s who are homeless, hungry, out of work and walking the streets and packing the unemployment rolls and more, will  become greater in numbers, and our economy will bog down more.

The Economy of the United States was built on manufacturing period, we were always so rich and powerful, we could get anything we wanted if we worked for it. Well, today you can’t even work for it, you work to survive is all, to pay your mortgage, your rent, electric and phone and heat and eat period. Gas is only a luxury actually for your car if you need it to go somewhere like doctors or lawyers or family matters. The stores are empty and more malls get built why? I shall never understand the foolishness of the America I love. I can say these things because i have seen the following things happen in my lifetime: House Prices go up and then crash down, stocks and bonds doing the same, Factories open and closing left and right and so much more plus I served my country for 16 years and became disabled as a Veteran. Sadly I can’t improve my health, but I can speak my mind damn it.

I was born in 1956 under Eisenhower and Nixon, lived through Camelot with the Kennedys, and watched him die, his brother die and Martin Luther King Jr too, All for for equality and the betterment of the American people on a whole. Lyndon Johnson while trying to carry on the progress of his predecessor, bogged us down in Vietnam and tried to change things but was unable to. I have seen every President and party in the White House they will ever be in my lifetime and yet not a one of them understands that you need to rebuild the economy at home, before you can police and rebuild other countries period. I watched factories go down the tubes one by one because they were over taxed over charged and moved overseas to keep in business, sad isn’t it. Companies that were mainstays of America’s economy, closed their door in the 1970s and 1980s and never returned, UniRoyal Rubber and Sneakers, Chase Brass and Cooper, Anaconda, Timex and so many more. Now it is the 2014 and the brick and mortar stores are dying out Sears, K-mart, and more, yet Malls are still being built and never filled, sad isn’t it. americans don’t have jobs, or savings or a way to make money these days, so they live pay check to pay check. I watched a loaf of bread go from a quarter to over three dollars a loaf. Milk triple in price, meat prices soar, gas prices soar and so much more, why? When will the Congress, both sides and the President realize what is happening to Americans?

I went to a mall the other day with a friend, no I didn’t spend money I didn’t have we went to use it for walking and getting some exercise is all. As we drove down the road I saw boarded up stores and buildings where big store chains were before. I saw people in dirty clothes and hungry holding up signs feed me, will work for food, need a home, and even some sleeping in cardboard boxes, why? This is America, but the House, The Senate as a Unit does nothing to change it and nether can the President without support. Do something Americans, do it now or pay further prices!

November 5th, has arrived in 2014, and the election results are in, the Republicans did win the Majority in the Senate and they already had control of the House. So guess what folks, the President is now sitting on the hot seat of the world’s most powerful office, with no support at all. Sad really if you ask me that the american people choose to go this way, but it is done and now the people will get either their glory or destruction next. The sad thing about this is no Americans seem to understand their own political system that well in my opinion, you all just handed the Republicans the power to not only block and stop every thing the President wants to do, but you have also given the first 4 years of the next President one hell of a problem to deal with too. Sad America very sad in my opinion! 

America will see now, how the Republicans will attack Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and any other program that helps people, including ObamaCare. Sadly, you will see how they cut unemployment benefits for all, limiting them to either 13 or 26 weeks, and how the republicans who have more money then anyone else can and will hurt Americans left and right. How they are indeed war hawks, and why they support the military machine that makes weapons and The NRA. I just hope they can understand the following fact, MIddle America is quickly and quietly dying out, people who are in the middle class have no place to go to get to the upper class, so in the end they fall into the abysis of the lower class. No Jobs, kills the economy, no trade kills the economy, no manufacturing kills the economy, higher taxes will murder America’s Economy and we will never come back from it all. MOre people will find themselves walking the streets of America looking for dumpsters and boxes to sleep in and begging for food. The choices made on November 4th, 2014, by the American People in this election can and will probally hurt more people than ever before. Watch it all happen America, because it will, Republicans are all of what I said above and greedy as hell, so screw the people, they will get their own these Republicans and forget you!
