Ever Wonder Why?

Every year, I watch certain programs on Television with my wife and we laugh through them and enjoy the mysteries and dramas and more. Then came in the contest shows and they were fine for a while, then the dating shows and Bachelor shows, but they all have one thing in common, they all have to end sometime.

Coming to an end, are some shows we have loved for a long time, shows like The Closer, House is now coming to an end, and in the far flung past Mash went bye, bye too. Sadly none will ever match Mash for it’s conclusion, because it’s characters had character, eachand everyone of them. From Hawkeyes to BJ, to Hot Lips and Radar, and even Father Mullchay, Mash hit the hearts of the American public like no other show.

In the old days television in the 1960s had some of the greatest programming ever. We had comedies like Mchales Navy, My Favorite Martian,Car 54 Where are You? and more. We had Mutual of Omahas Wild Kingdom, Disney and The Wonderful World of Color and more. Music ruled the Air Waves with American Bandstand and Soul Train. Motown was the biggest recording company around, the air tasted and smelled of newness and freshness then and life felt like it was begginning anew always.

Every time I turn around another show gets cancelled or ends that I enjoyed and I can’t understand why. Shows I loved disappear as fast as they appear, ABC had Defying Gravity, it poofed in less than one season, why? It seems if the audience isn’t huge at the beggining the show won’t last, it’s all based on money of course and that sucks.

Now House is leaving, Desperate Housewifes is going too, and these shows such as The Closer and more disappear off the screens of homes across America. America does need it’s hereos and villians as well as fun programs again, Seinfeld made us laugh till the end with subjects no one understood at first but shine bright since they aired, yet it too ended. The Fugitive, Combat, all programs in the 1960s that could come back if casted right.

These days we get Survivor, Amazing Race, The Bachelor and Bachelorette and Losing Weight Shows and Dancing Contests. Then they throw in singing competitions like American Idol and The Voice and now X-Factor. Maybe one such show on the air at a time would work, but three will definitely overload our senses and the air waves and cause some of them to die. Too much of one thing and not enough of another is bad they say, and such is the case with these.

At a time when America is going through it’s financial crisis and economic mess and we are hurting as a nation, television and it’s providers and companies that create shows should make television more entertaining not monotonious! I will always wonder why some of my favorite shows to see on television were ever cancelled, don’t you with yours? Ever Wonder Why?

Surviving Being Unwanted!

All my life I spent as a boy and a man I believed I was the most forgetable man in the world. I always had low self-esteem and gave up on things and people far before anyone else would. I suppose it doesn’t help to grow up with a mother who always told you, you were no good, you were rotten, you were like the father she divorced from, lazy and greasy and no good!  I suppose mothers as well as fathers, don’t realize the damage their words can do, or the lack of love, caring and hugs and kisses can do to a child. The question for most children who suffer mental and physical abuse in their parental home is really how do you over come it all and make life work for you? The answer my friends, is blowing in the wind, yes the answer is blowing in the wind, a Stevie Wonder classic song right? But oh so true when you stop to think about it and let things blow by or roll off your back. Stevie had it right in his song, for the answer is blowing in the wind!

When your young and a parent doesn’t want you around or can’t handle you because you’re a rebel and you can’t get along with students in school or in the neighborhood, well you feel lost and alone. How do you over come it all, surrogate families and parents and then friends is how ! I did it as did millions of other kids world-wide I am sure, especially in America. I adopted families of friends I met as my own, let their parents advise me and listened to them speak to their own kids. I learned from friends, surrogate parents and lovers in the end that life is not all your main family that may not want you, it’s a world of people who may need and want you for different reasons.

The hardest thing for any child is to grow up feeling unwanted, unloved or uncared for, and then to find out and go through your own family trying to give you away to others. I lived it all and I know how I over came it, but others may not have had the attitude, drive or desire to do what I did and make it work, yet they should if they want a life full of promise, hope and believing in themselves. If they want ever to feel wanted,  needed and loved because their own parents don’t really want them, they need to know they can reach out to others.

Some parents are not made with motherly instincts or fatherly instincts, they never get it and have no idea how to raise a child or care for them. Such was my base family, a family of a mother who babbied one child her first and forgot the other four she had, never extending kisses and hugs except for one. Or the father you grow up with who comes home at night from work to hear his wife complaining of her kids who she thinks are asleep upstairs and makes her husband go up and drag them out of bed and straighten them out one by one. Yes we lived in terror of our father coming upstairs to get us each night, we lived in fear of his anger, the beatings and the boards, pipes and more. Yet I found a way out of it all !. Surrogate Parents and families and being away from home and hiding as much as humanly possible, it worked for me, until I had to make the decisions that shaped my own life further. Yeah I didn’t always have a warm guiding parents to help me so I made mistakes, but I survived and so can you!

History, Assassians, Wars and America

History, Assassians, Wars and America.

History, Assassians, Wars and America

History in America has many unusual things in it if you read it carefully. My interest has always been in the assassinations of Presidents and Political Figures. Why were they killed and we already believe we know by who.

Motives are the question that should be asked  in American History the assassins seem to have no  concrete motives to kill the President or Political figures they did kill. Ever wonder why Booth killed Lincoln or Oswald killed Kennedy, or  Sirhan Sirhan killed Bobby Kennedy, or Ray shot Martin Luther King Jr.? Or why in Ancient History the romans killed Caesar or Cleopatra died a sudden death? Politics is why, and the voices that are raised in opposition or to make change get killed off by the established is why. Jesus was killed to stop his preaching of rules and laws and commandments no one understood. Each of these leaders got killed in their prime when their voices were clear, loud and attracting attention and distracting from a major opponents words and thoughts.

Independent thinkers are killed off when their ideas and thoughts and words do not go with the majorities  wishes or interfere with the majorities ways. History shows that once a majority is flowing in one direction and one person tries to change that direction they get removed. Whether it is in anger, revenge, or for a political purpose it happens. Sadly, it doesn’t need to if people just communicate freely and above-board. Peaceful solutions are the best and longest lasting ones. We need more of them, not more violence and killing.

Talking about killings and political problems, Afghanistan comes to mind every time. Someone please explain why America of all the countries in the world has to clean up their country and get our soldiers, sailors and Marines killed! It’s a senseless battle for position by sects that aren’t smart enough to run their own sect never mind a country. It’s an endless battle we fight to help a country that hates us being there, and would rather see us gone for what reason?

Killing goes back to the olden days of yore so to say and no matter what the evil ones and the good ones die. Because in the end the good sacrifice themselves to stop the bad and we end up losing peaceful great leaders. Why?

Sacrifice has been around forever in mankind’s world, and it is not worth it unless the principles and thoughts and ideas put forward are worth saving for all. Would we sacrifice ourselves for our children yes, for our country yes. for love yes, but why must we fight wars for someone else who doesn’t even give two damns about us as a country and people?

The killing of American military personnel in lands like Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Yemen or Africa is sad and worthless in the process of humanity. One nation can not keep sacrificing for other nations that care not if we do or don’t. I say to President Obama, Congress and Politicians all over America, bring our troops home, bring our weapons home and tools of war too. Spend the same time and money and effort you all spend protecting and defending and fixing and policing other nations, on fixing our economy, our job markets, the trade agreements that are killing us and Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare,Health Care.the Postal Service, and what helps America. We are not the police force for the world anymore, we have our own troubles here at home, it is time America fixes itself and lets other nations do the same for themselves too.

Lets Fix America !

The political race is on for four years in the White House, the battle is now engaged by both sides and about to step up and hit with force, in the American People’s faces. While President Obama and Romney will be going head to head, please stop and look at both of their views on certain issues: 1) Wars in Afghanistan and elsewhere, they need to be stopped and what is ours in forces and weapons need to come home. 2) Watch for who will save Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and Veterans Benefits, these programs are the ones keeping many helpless, homeless and needy people alive and giving them a chance to. 3) Health Care– who has the better plan 4)  immigration Who will toughen the laws, but allow those here to stay in someway 5) Jobs, Who can really create jobs and bring back manufacturing and make our economy go forward 6) Who will change the Trade Agreements to a point where they favor America’s needs and our exports once more out shine and out measure our imports once more on the world market. 7) Who will step in and save the Postal Service that is needed by many millions across the USA to deliver our medications and things we depend on daily to survive. 8 ) Who has the better leadership skills period and will stand up for all Americans not just the rich or poor but all. 9) Who can reformat, reinvent the tax codes in the US to fit the current population and make it work, without raising them on the poor and middle class. We have no more to give Uncle Sam is bleeding out the poor and middle class to save the rich, wrong! 10) We saved big business and Wall Street and companies, now collect back what we loaned them as a country and lets use it for good works not bad.

We also need to elect a congress that will support which ever man we elect as President. You can’t give the throne to one man and then put his opposition into check and balance him and expect him to be able to accomplish much, it’s like blockading a country, you can’t work around it well.

As a country we screwed up by electing a Democrat as President and a congress full of Republicans to checkmate him. What we got was a blockade that stopped anything real from being accomplished and it is the American people’s fault now. Lets clean it up and make whoever is in the White House have a supporting cast to accomplish what needs to be done.

The Avengers A Comic Fans Movie!

Movies, movies, movies! I am not rich nor do I get a chance to go to a movie often, yet, after waiting for a long time, a movie I waited on finally came out, The Avengers by Marvel and Disney Studios.

As a child and boy I grew up buying comic books about these characters and teams, such as the Avengers, The Fantastic Four, The X-Men, and then the DC comics side too, such as Green Lantern, Batman, Superman, and yes even Wonder Woman. It was the art work that drew me in and then the stories as they got better over time. Even Spiderman was fun and different in a world full of pain and no pleasure they brought hope to mine.

I am glad that Stan Lee who created these superheroes, allowed people to finally make movies out of them, and create a world of fantasy, fighting and joining and getting along on-screen. He stuck to his guts and told the Studios and Producers to do the characters his way as they were in his books and wham the hits began hitting the big screens. Spiderman, The Hulk, The Fantastic Four, The Silver Surfer, Iron Man and now The Avengers. The characters in the books stayed for all time as Stan Lee and Kirby made them. And I hope they will on-screen too, for the characters are loved by so many of the baby boom generation and their offsprings they deserve to be given the right production and way on the screen. The Avengers brings a cast of characters to the screen that needs little improvement at all, and is fun to watch, including the villains and beasts and armies. It’s all a fun time at the movies if you go, the intensive fight scenes, the teamwork and the way it all goes leads you to believe in teamwork and heroes, right down to Nick Fury!

If you like excitement, a plot, a story to follow and great graphics and three-D affects The Avengers is a film to see. If you were a comic book fan as a child and want to see them come to life on the big screen and cheer and laugh and enjoy, then The Avengers is a movie for you!
