Music lives and Breathes Country !

Music, so many across the world love music of one kind or another, I think it motivates, it entertains and is pleasant to the ears. Each Generation bring its own type of change to the music industry, by producing different artists and different songs and melodys. Yet one thing remains constant in music if you want it to sell, a singer with a voice who can sing. I know there are rappers, singers, story tellers and more, Rhythm and Blues, Soul and more too, even metal rockers, each unique in what they bring to the music world. For me it is Country Music, the greats Patsy Cline,Reba, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn,Kenny Rogers,Hank Williams and his son Hank JR. and Merle Haggard and so many more. Country tells stories of life, love, hopes and fears, years of laughter and even tears. Country is America‘s real music in my heart and mind, for it talks of the world we live in and the way we live and love in it. It even covers disasters, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley,Miranda Lambert, and Tim.

Then we have shows like American Idol creating icons and singers of so many different types. People with voices that can shake a stadium’s roof and move an audience to their feet. The Voice is doing this also now as it grows in fans, and time on the air, X-Factor is too. For music moves the mortal soul, it makes man and woman whole. It calms, it excites, it makes one laugh and one cry, just as Winona and Naomi Judd. I remember my daughter as a child in 1982, running around the house shortly after she learned to walk, singing Momma’s Crazy, it was a take on their song Momma He’s Crazy over me. My daughter loved the song and the melody, and used to sing it to my first wife, as Momma’s Crazy I laughed but my ex-wife didn’t, but for me turns out my daughter may have been right, lol. Point being, Country Music reaches into the soul the heart and the spirit of Americans and the world, it brings hope and fear, it bring happiness and it brings tears. It has done so for decades and more now and will forever stay strong as long as it keeps coming up with new songs, new stories and new stars. Carrie Underwood when she started on American Idol, told Simon Cowell one day, You sir, do not understand country music, well he didn’t and still doesn’t today, but Carrie Underwood does and is worth 20 million bucks a year today.

When tragedy hits the world of America as a nation, Country Stars step up with songs about that. When wars happen you hear Toby Keith singing his songs about putting a boot in their ass, it’s the American Way. This is country at it’s best in my opinion. and if I can’t understand what a singer is singing, the lyrics I don’t want to listen to them.

Music is the basis in many minds, hearts and souls, that brings smiles, tears, motion, laughter and fears to the human heart. Country does it best for me, with it’s ballads, from greats, like Patsy Cline, Hank Williams and yes even Hank Williams Jr. I am not a redneck or a southerner, but the tunes are great when they hit the ears. Josh Turner, Scotty Macready, and others. They bring smiles, laughter, fun and enjoyment god bless country!

The Writing Bug!

Each day I wonder what subject to cover in my blog, or what story or poem to write. How does one decide what to put in writing and tell the world or private friends or family?  You don’t want your life explained or examined by strangers or anyone else, so you tend to stay with subjects meant for the public to  read and care about.

I have covered so many subjects on my blog from Politics, Republican primaries, Democratic too, and benefits that will affect the whole senior population over 50 in the United States. Items such as will Social Security be there for those who paid into it, or will it be all borrowed out? Will Medicaid and Medicare still be there, or will they be phased out by the rich so the poor have nothing left to lean on?

I have covered the Death of a Diva in Whitney Houston, who all now know died a cocaine related death in a bathtub at age 48. The sad loss of such a talented person hits us everyday, in many ways and each of us is affected a little differently.

Doctors fighting Cancer, illnesses, and more I have written about. I did a story called The Disease which deals with the rising rate of cancer among people in the USA and how it has affected my life and my beliefs and my way of thinking.

My stories range of love, and death, and Naval life, but the biggest stories I have ever told are family stories the stories of parents gone wrong, children in pain and survivors.

My poems have ranges the same breath and width of the human soul, from love, to lust, to health and to death, yet I still fight a subject and write as much as I can, hoping humanity will experience and understand what I say and enjoy some of it. Am I wrong for doing so, I doubt it and i don’t tend to use language that can disturb or upset people I write in plain American English is all.

The hardest part for any story-teller, poem teller or blog writer, is to flesh out what you write about to show the emotions, fears and cares of the people you write on and the scenes have to be vivid and catching too. The subjects can range of course but we all know, what the audience really wants is something to catch their mind and grab them and carry them through the story so they can look at family and friends and show them or repeat it themselves.

Doris Kearns Goodwin does that, Robert Ludlum did that when he was alive, and Jack London did it also in the early 1900s. Writing such as Poe gave us poems that hit the soul and make us think, Shakespeare wrote so many plays he is never forgotten. Singers and writers write songs of stories and songs of love, they may range from rock and roll to country to even classical, but they still write and pass it all on.

America’s past and its future is built on writers and the stories, ideas and poems and songs they write. It is a country that learns lessons from the written, sung and spoken words. In the end it can be the writers of all kinds that can bring the world to  peace or destruction by what they write and show to all of us. Writers carry a large responsibility as well as the respect of many in the world. We all look for the items written that touch our souls, hearts and minds and we find them written by people who are in the end human in every way. That is what is called the writing bug that bites many humans in the world.

NFL Players Sueing?

Today I read an article concerning NFL Veterans who made millions from the league and teams , suing the NFL over head concussion injuries. I found it interesting that players who went to college, are educated and with degrees of many kinds, decided the employer, The National Football League is at fault for not doing all it can to protect its players. Why blame the NFL?

With all due respect to the Player’s Association of the National Football League, and The Union, you can’t hold The NFL accountable for these head injuries like Alex Karras‘s or any other players. These men who grew up playing football from their childhood days on parks and fields, and then through elementary School, High School and College, then choose to play Professional Football to make millions, are at fault themselves. You can’t blame an employer for a worker doing the job they do, when they choose the job as a way of life themselves. No one bent, twisted, any of these players arms to play the sport of Football for an NFL Team or the league, nope they volunteeringly signed contracts that included medical coverage and benefits, plus millions in money to play a game they love. Now when they get injured or hurt, they want to sue a League that gave them what they wanted, to play Pro Football.

I am a National Football League fan of many decades, and it entertains us and it makes for great games. On each level of the process of becoming a Pro- Football player, these players have a chance to quit and change their jobs if they wish, instead of grabbing the money and going Pro. So why does the National Football League need to pay these men for head injuries? It shouldn’t really, the choice was the players to join a Pro team and they knew the dangers they faced, each and every player, they played football at each level all their lives. Lets be real here, ok.

The National Football League has been generous and set up many Foundations, Homes for ex-players, paid medical costs for players before and still does today. Yet these players want the NFL to increase Safety and they want to blame the NFL for their conditions? Why?

At no time in a football player‘s life or career as one, does the player not know he may be injured playing this game. The player has to realize from a young age on a playground they can get hurt and as they age they must also understand they could get hurt worse, because of age and size and violence being in the game. Are these players expecting the NFL to pay them and take care of them after they leave the league, because they earned millions already, and fame playing the game?  What is the real story here, I know if I run through a crowd and fall and break my leg, the crowd is not going to pay to reset it or fix me, so it is all a choice the players made from childhood. Don’t blame the Employer The NFL, blame the players who go Bounty Hunting each other like the Saints did.

The NFL supplies, high-end helmets for protection, pads, uniforms, medical facilities at each teams home base and stadium. Now, really how much more protection can you get to play a dangerous and violent game like football and still be able to play it. These men are dressed in uniforms and helmets created  by some of the best companies in the world, and designed for protection against these injuries. Sadly, these players don’t stop to think the first time their head buzzes or they get knocked out with a concussion, they all ask to go back into the game. Grow up people if you get paid to do a job, you choose to do, and did all your life, then get injured doing it, why ask the Employer to pay the price of fixing you? You choose your occupation did you not? Yes you did !

Lets all discuss something that bugs the hell out of me for a change, fools and assholes on the internet who want to destroy the greatest information highway in the world. Why would anyone want to ruin anthers web site? When you have zillions of places online to go and look at things and learn and chat and more, you aim at one web site and take it down with bullshit, that’s crap. If someone doesn’t like a web site or what someone says or writes  on it then ignore it and it will not bother you. The Internet is an invention that gives billions access to history, learning how tos, and millions upon million of pieces of data and a place to be creative. Don’t attack what may be the greatest invention ever by being stupid folks, leave other people’s stuff alone, no one bothers yours.

It’s like Elementary School all over again, larger bullies picking on smaller people or starters. Listen up bullying is illegal! Let everyone have their say, acknowledge them and then move on with what ever decision you make and say ok. Don’t intentionally ever attack someone or something because you don’t like them, you don’t like their work or you don’t like what they said or do. Just walk away it’s the best thing for both of you.

As day after day, on the information highway that is the internet data is uploaded stored and turned into information the world can use to save lives, and more, like all good inventions it does get misused also. History has shown terrorist organizations using the internet to voice threats or instill fear in innocent people. Yet the internet is also a device used for fun, information and education, so no matter what anyone says, we all have abusers somewhere don’t we, that we know, well we avoid them in real life and we should do so on here too.

We have news, comics, information, television, films, books and games all at our fingertips, as well as factual history and more in the world and at home. Be blessed folks and enjoy it all, but, do yourself and everyone else who uses the internet a favor, stop spamming, stop viruses, stop malware and stop destroying the one invention in a long time that now covers all people, all nationalities, all colors, all races period. We all need a platform for information and our say also, well the Internet has now become that and much, much more. Lets protect the wealth of information, the access and the information, lets keep the Internet clean and useable for all.

We the People,Middle Class and Below or ?

We the People,Middle Class and Below or ?.

We the People,Middle Class and Below or ?

As the choices for our next President has come down to two men, the one currently holding the office, Barrack Obama and the other Willard Mitt Romney. One Democrat who loves being a Democrat, but who has worked with the other side for his first term, and a Republican Businessman who claims he can turn it all around. In history many have made claims of what they can do, very few every get it done, please remember that one folks.

As soon as the November Election ends and across America we know who has been chosen, I hope we don’t regret what we did, like we did in 2008. We regretted that one not because we picked the wrong President, but because we tried to check and balance him by elected the opposing party as the congress. Sadly, we screwed ourselves with those votes and it has caused the logjam that is now in Washington.

Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting history lesson number 1; Do not at anytime if you want the country to accomplish anything at all, put in a congress of the opposite party from the one you made President. The morass that is Washington is our fault, as the voters, we should have known better. On the other hand, it is correct to check and balance  a President or Congress, but not if you want to get off the status quo your on.  Sadly, we did the wrong thing in 2008 by doing just that, and it has hurt the progress of America’s recovery.

As this Election cycle goes forward, both of these Candidates will have separate ideas on how to improve the Economy, Create Jobs, bring Manufacturing back to the U.S. listen closely please. If either of them talk about cutting Social Security, or letting it fade, or killing Medicaid, Medicare or Disability Payments for Veterans or Benefits, please don’t vote for them. Across America elderly citizens need Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security and Veterans need their benefits and disability payments too, we live on these things because we can’t work. Unless you have an idea to improve these benefits as a candidate I will not vote for you, especially if you cut them, or still borrow from Social Security.

It is time now, for the over 50 population, the ones who fought for their country, the ones who represented and made America great and the baby boomers of the 1950s and 1960 to have their say for the next four years, don’t sit at home folks vote in any way you can. For this year, this Election will either save Social Security, Disability Payments, Medicaid and Medicare and Veterans Benefits, or leave us all floundering about with no leg financially to stand on and live on. Fight for what is your rights and benefits, we can’t all be rich or millionaires can we?

The decision must be made between now and November 4th, 2012, do we the people mean we the people the middle class and below or does we the people mean the rich and mighty on top? We must make that choice and decision first and foremost in  this Election.
