Election Anger and False Statements

As an Independent Voter, who is not a member of either Party, I tire of this bickering, and attacking each other from both parties and candidates. The Republicans attack the current administration and then in turn Obama attacks the Republicans and Romney. What we have here is not an election run by candidates who are adults, respectful and talking issues to the public and the citizens of America, but, two grown men acting like children on a playground in Elementary School. I can do better than you,no , you can’t I can. It feels more like a scene out of the Family Circus in the Comics page in the Sunday Paper!

Romney did not kill anyone and Obama is not going to break Medicare and Medicaid either, The Post Office and the system will go down because of electronic media such as e-mail, social programs like Facebook and more. Unless someone stops borrowing from it and gives it an infusion of cash or credit to continue. The Postal Service has been in effect and working in America since the days of Ben Franklin and our founding fathers in America, why are politicians and men in government going to let it fade?

And what of Social Security Ladies and Gentlemen? Is Congress going to continue to borrow from the money we pay in for our elderly days, till there is nothing left for anyone to have? We have Senior Citizens who have nothing to live on but these checks each month, they depend on Medicare and Medicaid also to pay for medicines and treatments!. So what happens if all of the above goes because politicians can’t figure out how to save it all, or how to refinance it all? Does this mean my children and their children and future generations of Americans can end up living like those in third world nations, hungry, homeless, sleeping in caves and tents and boxes? When will Congress wake up?

I have heard false accusations, false statements, lies and rhetoric from both sides so far now. when will someone tell us the truth Americans? When will one candidate stand up and admit our economy is failing, our job markets suck, because we killed off blue-collar work and factories! When will a politician stand up and tell us Unemployment will not be funded forever and will run out on us all?  Please tell us, Mr. President and Mr. Romney, when will our politicians who represent we the people, actually act and make some positive changes to create jobs, increase the GNP and move America forward once again? When will America be able to compete once more and be on top of the world markets? When will we stop fighting other nations wars and getting our service members killed for stupid reasons?  I have heard enough of the anger and false statements of both candidates this election season already, can someone make them finally give us solid plans, to save Medicaid, Medicare, Obama care, Social Security, and yes The Postal Service? When will either candidate finally show some guts and be honest with the American People and stop pointing fingers and state solutions for all above? Probably never if you ask me, for each just wants to carry on and be marked in history as either a two term President or President at any cost! The Cost Americans is us and the future generations of Americans, yes your children, your grandchildren and their livelihood and lives. Stop and Think, make these men and their political parties come up with solid answers that work! Lets clean up the deficit, lets create jobs, save Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and the Post Office, make the right choice America, for in the end it is our children, grandchildren and future generations that will suffer and pay for our mistakes!

Gardening Time has Arrived!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the weather outside here is beautiful, the temperatures, sun and fresh air just right, get off your duff and get outside and have some fun if you can, is what I say.

I spent about 6 hours yesterday between raking out an area, stone outlining it and weed blocking it, and then planting  day lillies across it and mulching it. When done it went from a weed infested mess to a clean, nicely mulched flower, filled garden that looks decent and matches the rest. I spend maybe an hour or two a day just outside going from garden to garden watering plants now in the ground and gardens created by me and my wife. The beauty of it is clear when seen and we try to keep all alive as long as humanly possible in the summer till fall at least. The colors bloom yearly, yellows and pinks and purples, and more, the bushes stand tall and look good and in the end even the trees we planted, the seven hemlocks are growing well each year.

My next project is actually out front of my home, the prior owners years ago planted small spruce trees by my garage, well they are dying slowly, so they must be pulled. I am going to get them replaced by small aborvianies which are a different kind of pine tree that can be shaped each year to where and what size you want them to be. Gardening these days in my retirement days, has become a past time and hobby and  almost anything I plant seems to grow.

We have all kinds of flowers now, daffodils, Hydrangea, Pansies,Roses, of many shapes and colors from deep red to pink, bushes of them and even climbing roses growing. Even a Japanese Maple Tree we added. Then a dogwood with white flowers, azaleas, and more.

Half the fun is waking up each morning and being able to slowly walk around the property and just look at the true and beautiful colors in the plants and land we own. It is peaceful, pleasant and relaxing, and so is the process of planting and watering and feeding them. So as they say in retirement land when you get there. relax , go slow and enjoy you have earned it, I know I did after 16 years of military service and PTSD and herniated discs and more. But God Bless the USA, it does take care of us Veterans so we can find hobbies and enjoyments in our older days.

I would recommend Gardening, of any kind to anyone who wants to relax, have fun, build and look back at what they did, later.Gardening days can be peaceful and pleasant and be shared by any couple for fun. Enjoy!

We the People,Middle Class and Below or ?

As the choices for our next President has come down to two men, the one currently holding the office, Barrack Obama and the other Willard Mitt Romney. One Democrat who loves being a Democrat, but who has worked with the other side for his first term, and a Republican Businessman who claims he can turn it all around. In history many have made claims of what they can do, very few every get it done, please remember that one folks.

As soon as the November Election ends and across America we know who has been chosen, I hope we don’t regret what we did, like we did in 2008. We regretted that one not because we picked the wrong President, but because we tried to check and balance him by elected the opposing party as the congress. Sadly, we screwed ourselves with those votes and it has caused the logjam that is now in Washington.

Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting history lesson number 1; Do not at anytime if you want the country to accomplish anything at all, put in a congress of the opposite party from the one you made President. The morass that is Washington is our fault, as the voters, we should have known better. On the other hand, it is correct to check and balance  a President or Congress, but not if you want to get off the status quo your on.  Sadly, we did the wrong thing in 2008 by doing just that, and it has hurt the progress of America’s recovery.

As this Election cycle goes forward, both of these Candidates will have separate ideas on how to improve the Economy, Create Jobs, bring Manufacturing back to the U.S. listen closely please. If either of them talk about cutting Social Security, or letting it fade, or killing Medicaid, Medicare or Disability Payments for Veterans or Benefits, please don’t vote for them. Across America elderly citizens need Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security and Veterans need their benefits and disability payments too, we live on these things because we can’t work. Unless you have an idea to improve these benefits as a candidate I will not vote for you, especially if you cut them, or still borrow from Social Security.

It is time now, for the over 50 population, the ones who fought for their country, the ones who represented and made America great and the baby boomers of the 1950s and 1960 to have their say for the next four years, don’t sit at home folks vote in any way you can. For this year, this Election will either save Social Security, Disability Payments, Medicaid and Medicare and Veterans Benefits, or leave us all floundering about with no leg financially to stand on and live on. Fight for what is your rights and benefits, we can’t all be rich or millionaires can we?

The decision must be made between now and November 4th, 2012, do we the people mean we the people the middle class and below or does we the people mean the rich and mighty on top? We must make that choice and decision first and foremost in  this Election.
