Week 17 NFL Thoughts and more!

Today is the final weekend of the NFL Season for 2010-2011.  The Season has been surprising in very few areas to me. The Chiefs of Kansas City are a surprise, as are the coming of The Rams. The biggest shock is the fall of the Vikings!  Who will win it all is still to be determined because I think it all depends on the final entrants to the Super Bowl race, the Playoffs. Somewhere in there could be a dark horse team that can get on a run and win it all.  Time shall tell us for sure, but, I believe the Favorites will be The New England Patriots.

As the second day of 2011 is now underway, I pray that our government here in The United States can agree and help it’s people create jobs and survive. I know the Republicans won one house and the Democrats own the other and the White House, but can both parties find compromise and move us forward is the real question!  Remember what they told President Clinton, you politicians up in Washington, it’s the economy stupids! No blue collar jobs means many Americans out of work and unemployed, get creative and find a way to make more blue collar jobs to turn us around will you?

Final word for the day, On this day in 1982, my eldest daughter was born, after I walked her mother up and down the street of Norfolk, Va. for hours on end.  Then I sat in the hospital waiting and waiting until 2;54 am when she was finally born. I learned some patience that day and evening and, I was happier then then ever since, cause I had a child and I was a father. Four years, almost 5 later her baby sister was born and happiness encompassed me again.  Now many years later, my eldest is turning 29 today, and I just want to give a shout out to her,

Happy Birthday Eileen, May your Day be filled with Happiness and Joy and Plenty of Love!

Sorry I can’t be with you!

Love ya,

Dad

2011- A New Year/ a New Beginning but, leftover problems

2011 is here, Happy New Year with all the laughter and cheer! May the New Year bring you health and wealth and joy and love and may each day be brighter then the last!

A New Year begins and away we go, but the old problems still persist don’t you know. The Government is in gridlock to start and it seems the fights shall begin to start. The Democrats want one thing, The Republicans another seems to me that Congress can’t work without a bother! Obama’s Health Care comes into effect and those who are out of work got another year or so of unemployment to save their neck. Taxes will remain the same for the next two years, but by 2012 we shall all be paying more taxes and crying real tears. Sadly someone has to pay to run this Government, and it is we the people who shall get hit with the bill for sure.

I have a recommendation for all, tell Uncle Sam to get us out of all foreign wars and to bring our men and women home. We pay to help and defend other countries, to police them and to help them stay democratic or republics and they do nothing to help themselves or anyone else. Is America the babysitter or the world or what?  I thought we figured out years ago with Vietnam and Korea that we can’t continue to police  other countries or control them in anyway, but no, we rushed in to  Iraq and now Afghanistan.  Why? America wake up please stop our involvement in wars or other countries, and bring our troops and supplies home and lets take care of our own for a change.

We need to reevaluate our purposes and objectives in this country. Take a ride around your areas of the country Americans, look out your car windows and home windows, see your own people fellow Americans, begging for food on street corners and sleeping in cardboard boxes and lets bring home the cash, credit, supplies and troops who we send elsewhere and use them here at home to take care of our own. We seem to give, give, give and ignore our own needy, to such a point, our own are hurting more each day.

Final note for all those politicians and big wigs in Washington, DC, including our charming President Obama, whom I voted for, the Economy is still the  answer !. We need to reinstall manufacturing as the base of the jobs market and expand it in all ways possible, find products we can mass produce that the world wants and needs and lets get moving. Jobs are vital, and America is not built on White Collar jobs, it is built really on Blue Collar jobs and people. We have seen the car factories go, the plastic and steel factories go and many other industries move overseas, cause our towns and states won’t give them the tax breaks they need to survive here, or Unions demand too much and make them leave. Wake up America help these companies stay here so jobs stay here and we can live again!.

Happy New Year to All, and May your New Year be filled, with Health, Wealth, joy and Family and Love!

The end of 2010 and Thoughts for Saving America

2010 started like all years with great promise and hopes for many and ended for many in tears and depression and worse for some.  2010 has been a year of highs and lows so grand that for America we have ridden a roller coaster of financial mess, emotional mess, and wars we don’t need to be fighting.

America wants to turn itself around it needs to reinvent it’s manufacturing base once more, stop feeding and helping everyone else in the world and fighting their wars for them, bring our troops, supplies and money home and spend it on our own problems. We pay to defend and help every damn country we can in the world, yet when we get hit and hurt none come to our rescue do they?

In my opinion, we do not belong in Afghanistan, nor Iraq or anywhere else, to fight their wars and police their countries for them.  They wouldn’t do it for us, so why the hell do we do it for them?  America is the only country in the world that keeps giving so much we hurt ourselves doing so, what are we stupid or just trying to be politically correct always?

Final, rant or rave or discussion for 2010, President Obama did what no other President could get done, he created Health Care Reform and got it through congress to law. Now the Republicans want to repeal the damn law!. Wake up folks, you may fix it so it works better, but you shall never repeal it I am sure. Why is it when something that can be decent is passed one party or the other wants to rip it to shreds and make sure it does not work?

Well, 2011, will be my 55th year on this planet, and I have lived through some serious times in America, when big changes occurred for sure. I lived through the 1960’s, watched JFK  shot and RFK shot and MLK shot and Johnson run the Vietnam war up in numbers. Then I have live through the 1970s, a decade of rock and roll and Watergate, and Jimmy Carter. Changes and warnings is what I called the 1970’s that decade was filled with it all. The 1980’s brought us small wars here and there and counter attacks by our military against others here and there, I know I served those years and did my duty. The 80s were filled were the Cosby mentality too, don’t hit your child talk;k to them, and it produced the 80’s kids who are lazy, won’t work and expect things handed to them on a platter. Then we hit the 1990’s in America, the decade of corruptions, scandals, money laundering and schemes, and more fighting to protect others as our supplies and weapons and personnel got sent to other countries once more. Sadly, we have yet to learn not to police other nations for them, we should have by now, look back folks at Vietnam, Korea please and stop the bullshit!.

Now decade  since the beginning of the 2000’s we still sit here as a country trying to police, protect, and help other countries, now it is Afghanistan. The Russians tried the same thing for decades and they got swamped and beaten down by it all too, and they were Afghanistan’s neighbors actually and much closer then we are. We should withdraw and let them kill each other and say the hell with it, we don’t need out men and women of our military killed for no reason other then we want to police them and help them, they wouldn’t help us!. It’s time America pulls back, takes care of it’s own and gets out of the wars of other countries and takes care of it’s own. Bring our troops home, bring our supplies home and bring the money we give away home and spend it here in the United States and we can rescue our own homeless, and hurt and help our own.

Will America Compromise or face Demise?

@010 is almost gone one more day after today of course to complete. Amazingly 2010 has flown by quicker for me then most years in the past. Maybe because I know I am now more then 50% gone from life myself. As we age out bodies get weaker, our minds get sharper and we tend to slow down a lot more. But soon to be 55 in January myself, I know that life is not worth living unless you can do thing to make it so. Read your favorite book, do your favorite hobby, live with the ones you love , all are vital to human life. We need to have social contacts, we need to go out and play just like when we were kids.  We need a home, family, friends and lovers, whether you are young enough for sex or not, companionship is it. No person is an island unto themselves!

Slowly the year of 2010 has passed and all I can say is I hope 2011 shall be a better year for me and everyone else too. The politicians need to get on one page. the economy must be turned around and someone needs to tell the government period, jobs, jobs, jobs.

The 1960, we had, 1970. most of we had jobs, but by the end of the 70s things changed and factories and companies said good bye to the USA. Too many taxes, too many demands for higher wages and benefits too. Americans got greedy and now we suffer. America needs to bring back the blue collar worker and industries, soon, or we shall fall below countries that are now considered backwards ones. Wake up America, Wake up Washington!

As I look back at 2010 I see famous people who died, a country that cried, an economy running on three out of four good tires, and a country headed down that proverbial other side of the peaked hill.  The Roman Society, The Mayas, The Incas, all fell from grace and disappeared into the past, so shall the Great Republic of America unless our politicians and we ourselves do something to stop the cycle.

In ending, 2010 was a year of sad discoveries really, economy we found failing and can’t fix so far, Health Care Reform is passed but now one party wants to stop it before it starts. Unemployment and jobs in general are sluggish and dead in the water. What is   America to do?  Somewhere along the line America is going to have to learn a word politically, compromise !

Christmas 2010 was Hospitalized!

For me Christmas 2010, became a  hospital visit that continued through to the 27th from the 22nd. My wife passed out on the evening of the 22nd and ambulance time arrived. Spending Christmas in the Hospital is no fun for sure, but, at least we got her taken care of we think. Turns out more then likely pancreatitis was the cause of her fainting, but things still being tested and checked at this date. Problems still are there, have to keep her diet bland and simple as can be, her eye is messed up from the fainting on a ceramic floor so eye Doctor is needed and Gastrointestinal Professional needed for stomach and  pancreas, we shall see.  Each day is hurry up and wait, by each Doctor as the evaluate and test. Hopefully nothing serious shall be found, one Doctor said she may have passed a stone, time shall tell.

As 2010 heads to it’s ending, I hope and pray so shall all the medical problems we have faced lately. Wife goes down in pain and faints, testing and hospitals and Doctors left and right and then my ears became infected and clogged up completely like swimmer’s ear and I had to get them irrigated and flushed out and take amoxicillin  lucky me . Hopefully I shall be ok.

2010 has been an interesting year uncompromising many things that have happened to us. Politics didn’t go our way, health issues are not going our way either it seems. We have survived a tightening economy, medical costs, increases in cost of living left and right and more. Someone in our government is messing up and should help americans to survive.  Heres to hoping 2011 will be a better year all around for everyone.

December 22nd, 2010, Thoughts of X-mas and America’s Fall

IT is now only three days before Christmas and the cold is here, but no snow so far that we have to fear. I see the people still rushing all around, trying to buy the last of what is left of the best in town. The stores are busy but not like in the past, money people may have doesn’t seem to last. The difference in what is being bought we can all see, look around and listen most are electronic toys for you and me. The kids want video games and consoles, and the parents want cell phone and computers, it’s a virtual, race to keep up with the rest of the human race! What happened to Monopoly and Chess, and board games of Chutes and Ladders and the rest? What happened to simple thing like chemistry sets, and erector sets too and Barbie and Ken, I ask you?  The simple days are over it seems, they all seem to me to be like a dream, today it is all high tech you see, what happened to bikes and sleds  and go out and play today for you and me?

The economy is getting worse, passing of the tax plan didn’t hurt, but money is tight and prices are rising still, if it keeps up it will be the average woman and guy it will kill! It gets harder each day to put food on your table or to keep your home warm and nice.  Cars break down and sit for time, cause people can’t pay to fix them, that’s a crime! People get stuck with no food or places to live, and others walk by surviving but with nothing to give. Sadly America is slowly slowing down, the rest of the world is catching up and we are dying off, like,  the Roman Empire before us in History, America may have reached it peak as a Republic and the best in the world at it! Slowly we are falling backwards, jobs disappear and don’t come back, manufacturing is gone it seems. We have lost factories everywhere you look, car factories, rubber factories, metal factories and more. No jobs for blue collar workers is a killer don’t they see. Tell your Congressman, Tell your Senator, Tell Uncle Sam, Blue Collar Workers are out of work because of the way factories and the companies that run them are treated in America. We ask them to pat crazy wages, then add benefits on top that drives them to close up their factories and stop, we strike if we don’t get what we want, Unions do too much and have lost touch too. Ah I rant and rave and I try to make America save, but, this country keeps bleeding itself out.

Here is a Big Question for All to Answer- America sends troops everywhere to help other countries defend themselves, rebuild themselves and more, we send billions out in food and care packages to other nations and yet, no one sends help here!.  Isn’t it time America, we pull back our troops and let these countries run themselves?, Isn’t it time we save all the food and materials and help we send out, and use it on our own at home here?  Stop and  think America, we provide for all of these other countries and people and none give anything in return, why? No one came running with medical assistance or food, or help when the World Trade Towers fell in New York! Americans rushed in and saved what we could no other country came here, so why do we continue to go there? I think if we wake up tomorrow and pull our troops out of other countries, cut back on how much help and assistance we send out, save all the money, and spend it at home here in the United States, we could feed our own hungry, house our own homeless and cure illnesses and diseases no one else can! Think about it America, what I say is true!.

4 Days till Christmas 2010

Today is Tuesday December 21st, 2010, and we have four days till the Holiday arrives. People are still rushing to and fro, trying to find last minute gifts don’t you know. The cold has set in and the winter began and it seems the year will soon come to an end. As Santa’s time gets closer everyday and minute, I hope that the ones that enjoy it the most are the children caught up in it.  Their happiness and smiles go a long way, to make each December 25th, a special day. Some parents will cuddle with their children you see and read them fables and stories of what Christmas will be. Others will kneel down and play with the children and toys and remember being a child one day. Smiles will abound and Christmas songs will play their sounds as in many places snow comes falling down.  The white snows of Christmas each year, come it seems just in time for cheer, they clean the earth and make everything white, and by the time we celebrate and dig out, we all have a good night. So, on this 21st of December 2010, stop and  think of loved ones and yes even your friends, smile brightly as the day come nearer, for with love, life, family and friends, it all feels much dearer!.  Closer and closer Santa does come, when presents are passed out and people will smile you see, and in the end many will be Happy!.

As the world turns slowly  each day, and Christmas get nearer, I hope you all remember the ones you hold dearer. for they love you back and make you smile and if you lucky they will smile in return. IT’s a Holiday coming upon us, that is made to bring family and friends so close, so Peace on Earth, Good Will  to Men and God Bless The Holy Ghost! Most of all, God Bless our families and friends and may Christmas make all the tears end!

December 20th, 2010. 5 days till X-Mas !! and Peace On Earth

Five days before Christmas and the weather seems fine it is a little cold but no snow crosses the land or my mind!. All the presents we are giving are wrapped and ready for the delivering!. The Season brings happiness they say, but I guess for each it effects us in a different way. Family and Friends we love to have gathered round, as the tree lights up and the snow falls down. The bells start to ringing as people start singing, ah yes, it is Christmas Time!

As we get nearer to the big holiday, remember the Veterans and service members so far away. They fight and work for freedoms world wide and protect what they have here at home with their pride.

Each year around the last five days before Christmas I stop and think back and review, all the Christmas Holidays that I really knew. The young ones when I was little, the laughter and gifts that did flow, the teen ones when I got a little older, and found who really said HO, HO. Then the ones with a new wife and children and the gifts we wanted them to have, the way they screamed and shouted when they wanted something so bad. But those days have flown by don’t you see and the children are grown on their own, giving a Christmas to  my grandkids and never being alone!. The best part of getting older is, having grandkids to spoil you see, and once I do I can give them back to their daddy and mommy you see!.

So, as the Christmas Holiday closes in and we all know Jesus died for our sin, lets remember it is also a season of rebirth, that’s why we all hope and wish, For Peace on Earth!.

6 Days till Christmas/ Sunday has arrived. Thoughts!

Six day till Christmas of 2010, a time I thought I would never see of course but here I be. I remember when younger thinking to myself I would never make it past 40 years old, but here I be now a little over a month away from 55. But now I face what can happen next with a smile on my face and a heart beating well in my chest. Whether life will continue for me for how much longer  is a mystery that’s for sure, but I keep going on.

I once wondered about heredity and genetics and whether or not one can out live their parents  or grandparents. Well, now I am at the stage of finding out that is for sure.  My Father died when he was 55 in 1986, but cancer took him and I really did not know him well, mom divorced him when I was 9 months old. I did meet him more then once and found he was a normal man who was dominated by my mom like most men in her life were.

My mom died at 59 years old in 1991, also a victim of cancer, as my step-father who raised me died in 1990 of the same. My Grandfather on mom’s side died of pancreatic cancer in 71 and my my moms, mom of heart attack in 64. The eldest one of the bunch family wise was always my grandfather on my mother’s side, he went to 71, but now my mother’s sister has passed that mark  and is now 72 and still here. So the real question is how far can I or my elder brother go who is two years older then I? We are sure to find out now.

I have though many times about dying, and what I would leave behind, and as I look back I think only of the good, because for me there was very little bad. I had it tough as a little guy, I had a Mother who was not very loving, and I don’t remember hugs or kisses from her, I had a Step-father who beat us on a whim or an emotional need or on instruction from my mom. My older brother escaped through sports and I ended up the one home taking care of my siblings even though I was supposed to be the emotionally unstable one.  Then as I aged and escaped in my own way, I went on to serving my country in three different branches. I did a brief stint in the U.S. Army, then a stint in the Connecticut Army National Guard before transferring in the U.S. Navy. Growing up a little more in each case it seems. But always trying to fulfill hopes and dreams and stay alive, survival was always my purpose it seems.  I survived just fine, ending up married and having two daughters of my own. But that marriage ended in divorce, but not one I can blame myself for at all, but what’s one to say.

Then I moved on again to come home, and watch my parents die as I went through my divorce,  surviving again a scare of imprisonment for a crime I did not commit, but I was ultimately saved by a Prosecuting Attorney who caught my ex-wife in her lies. It took time to recover from that but I did. Remarrying and carrying on. I have help others when I was a kid and as an adult to avoid trouble and problems in many ways, but never received the same in return, but I never complain I just do.

In 6 days Christmas will be upon us once more, it will be a time to check your blessings and be with family and friends once more. A time to smile and laugh, and hug and hold, a time when no matter your age you don’t feel old.  Giving is what the season and holiday is all about, oh how long ago did I figure that one out!.  The best thing in life is to make someone smile, and laugh and make them happy, I know, I Know I sound a little sappy. But as you stand around your Christmas Tree, remember those who made our country free.  Don’t forget the Veterans and those serving today, for without their dedication, work and service we wouldn’t be free is what I say.

Saturday 7 Days till X-Mas

Saturday has arrived one week before Christmas and the weather is cold but no snow so far, we can still look closely and see the North Star!. The music of Christmas plays everywhere, and the cold of the winter freezes out noses and hair. The stores are all lit with sales and lights, and it seems like they only go out late at night. The children are antsy and running around, wishing for things that Santa can bring if he is sound. The holiday season has arrived you see, so be happy, be healthy and keep being free. Remember it is not what you get that counts, it’s what you give, that the holiday is all about.

As an old song once said, Christmas Time will find me, where the love light shines, yes I will be home for Christmas, even if only in my dreams. Christmas is a time for family and friends, to reclaim old relationships that burned up in flames. It’s time to spend with those you care for, and in that way it is never a bore. As you get older you marvel at your kids as they run and play and have fun times, their happiness and health is all that is on your mind. SO as The Holiday of Christmas begins, and we all think of family and friends, do not forget those soldiers, marines, sailors and more, who protect our front and back doors. Say a prayer for those far away, protect our nation and others in everyway. For the Peace on Earth and Good Will to Men, that this Holiday represents, will shine again. Thanks to our Military for protecting us all and May Peace and Safety be with you all!
