NFL Wake up and Change

Sunday has arrived once again folks, and The NFL will rule many home televisions and men’s hearts, as they watch the games and ignore all else around them, but men there is more going on around ya. Pay attention to the wife or girlfriend some, watch the kids and do your work around the house first and foremost, and please remember whether your team wins or loses, do not take it out on family, friends, loved one or anyone else. I hope I have made that one clear to you big NFL Fans.

The National Football League has it’s problems for sure these days. The Washington Redskins have a name problem and I believe it should be changed to a different name for the team. The Indian People of this country and the world have been discriminated against forever, and what all forget is they were here first not the team, and if they say any reference to them should not be used I agree. Change the name Mr. Synder, and let the Indians who were here way before any white man, african American or anyone else, feel comfortable again. It’s wrong to use something a whole nation and race doesn’t want used against their wishes please.

We now have many NFL problems arising and i believe the NFL did know of them and buried them to keep the games and it’s business going at all costs. IT makes money and thats it’s thing to do, it does entertain people both men and women, but it needs to discipline it’s players, coaches in the correct way, it needs to recognize it’s not a government in and of itself.

Ray Rice, now Adrian Peterson, violence, in action by full grown men who call themselves pro football player should not exempt them from punishment. No Man has the right to punch their wife and knock her out like Rice did, and no father has the right to beat their child with a switch or belt like Peterson did . Women and children are the weaker species here physically men and if you don’t have the self-control to not hit a woman or a child then maybe you shouldn’t be so lucky as to be paid to play pro football anymore and go into counselling. Maybe instead of beating women and children you should beat upon yourself and get help with anger management, think about that.

Do not misunderstand what I am saying, I love the game myself I am one of it’s biggest fans, but in the end if it’s players are going to hit and hurt women and children, I will say they need punished and more than a three game suspension or fine, they make millions playing the game, they don’t care when ya fine them.  The NFL needs to suspend them and more in response to these incidents and make an example out of the serious ones and correct the lesser ones. If your going to run a Pro League and do it right lets keeps child, women abuse out of it now. I stand for the rights of the women and children and think these men are too high on their own testosterone to stop their own actions. They need calmed down. Self-Control is something all need in the world, especially men who are athletic and strong and who can seriously damage a woman or child. Wake up NFL!

Good Parts of America

Hello America. so many are putting down the American people and Country and Government in the world it is crazy, the American Way is the right way! Too many think wella democracy is wrong and we are too permissive, go tell that to the people of Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and the DictatorShips like the one in Cuba. Sadly, they still exist and will because people are afraid of taking their own destiny into their own hands like the people of America did.

We have things in America called voting, right to free speech, education for all, equal rights and more. We are actually one lucky country in all ways. Plus we have proven we have the strongest military in the world also and I understand why we help everyone, it doesn’t mean I agree with it though.  Yet as an American you know, you have to accept the position we are in as a nation and people and lead on as we do, don’t we?

The bottom line about America is simple folks, we can agree to disagree and discuss anything, without killing one another over it, plus we go by majority rules.  And at the same time we recognize the minority has a voice and must be paid attention to also. It works folks, if we all compromise, and remember  the United We Stand and Divided We fall saying , so stay United! America has pride, resources, people and more that believe in freedom and we shall believe forever!

Video Gaming Madness By:William M. McCurrach

 Video Gaming Madness

It is ancient history so to say now, as to when the first video game appeared on the world market and the electronics craze really began. The 1980s is now decades ago when companies like Atari, and Commodore Computers came about. All hooked to a TV antenna on the back of your television and or with a monitor of its own and keyboard and silly joysticks. It now seems so long ago after all the inventions and progress since, doesn’t it. Pong, Table Tennis and then graphics came about as children and adults got fascinated by Intellivision and then PlayStations and X-Boxes and personal computers. Lap Top computers became the craze and now Tablets and E-readers abound, everywhere a person goes is someone reading, or playing or working on an electronic device. Amazing isn’t it folks we have become total and unashamed electronic geeks who love having video games to play and watch.

As a kid born in the fifties and raised in the sixties and seventies, we never had game consoles, computers, e-readers or video games. We had erector sets, microscopes, dolls, rings, jacks, jump ropes and balls. We had puzzles and paperback books and hard covers, and a little TV if we were good. Today’s children live and die with electronics and it is sad when you removed it from the kids they get lost and don’t know what to do anymore.

Such is the preamble to what happened to a child born in 1982, little Gerald McLaney. A young boy who by the age of fibe years old was given a controller to an Atari Console and got lost in simple games like pong and table tennis and grew from there. His parents didn’t think anything of it, it calmed Gerald down when he was upset, it made him quiet and happy and they could hear him in the next room each day, laughing and making fun sounds as he played for hours.

His days were spent staring at a Television screen full of pixels and shapes and laughing and yelling and sometimes crying when he failed to beat the games. Never though would Gerald ever give up no matter how many times he was beaten by a game he always went back to play again, to prove it was beatable to him. Usually Gerald would figure it out even at five years old, a small boy who’s brain sped as fast as light pixels across the screen. He mastered games like pong in no time, tennis in no time, Mario Brothers by 7, and was on to games of Champion Tetris and puzzles and more.

His days were spent going to school, coming home rushing through homework, finishing it and on went the Television and the game console and Gerald would be lost once more to the world, in an electronic wasteland staring at a screen of colored pixels now that moved at the same rate as his brain cells fascinated by the games invented to play with. Gerald never worried about making friends or going out to play and his parents saw no problem letting him do as he wanted and what made him happy. After all Gerald was happy as he was and no one cared if it was the video games and Television screen keeping him company, all they knew is Gerald was a happy kid and never caused trouble.

His life went on and on as the video games grew, he went from Atari, to Intellivision, from Intellivision he graduated to X-Box and Play Stations. The games went from simple games like pong and table tennis to games of more violent natures now, war games, battles, battleships and planes and then the shooters. Yes the all-time favorites for Gerald, his shooters games of war now allowed to be played across the internet now, as servers sprang up and blood and gore and sounds of explosions and fights and yells of death filled the room Gerald played in. Gerald staring at the screen to see a dot move and shoot and duck as a player’s pixeled characters head exploded 300 feet away in the game and the scores rang up and awards He joyed in being able to kill as many opponents as possible and being the best on the score boards around the world now. Yet behind the screen as others were being beaten and seeing Gerald’s pixel character in the game come up victorious and win, no one knew the real Gerald who was now home alone always with no one to watch him. He was snacking on so many things over time that between the age of 7 to 17, Gerald had somehow grown to 300 pounds and could barely move. Yet he refused to put down his controller and stop his game playing for it was all he knew. He ate whatever he wished, no his parents didn’t pay attention, nor stop him as long as Gerald didn’t bother anyone and was happy.

The video game sounds could be heard in the halls with Gerald’s door shut as he played on and on seldom stopping except for bathroom breaks and to get snacks. He would rush as fast as he could across the hall to the bathroom to go and then wait when no one was looking and get food and drinks and run back in and play more. He lived for the video games each day, looking online for new ones to play, buying and downloading what he could on a credit card. Each game was more complicated to win, each shooter more violent and gore filled as Zombies died, and Soldiers and Hit Men and Mobsters all at Gerald’s hands. As Gerald sat back in his chair in his room his eyes filled with the colors and pixels of the screen his thumbs and fingers gliding effortlessly across the controllers, smiling and never caring about anything else.

The pressure from the weight and his lack of physical exertion began to get to Gerald each day, slowing his heartbeat down and causing bladder and bowel problems, but Gerald didn’t care much, he wanted to just sit in the dark stare at the screen his fingers and thumbs sliding over the smooth buttons on the controllers and watch pixel characters on a screen bleed and die left and right as he worked through each map and screen. It was after all Gerald’s whole life now, he knew he couldn’t run and play with the other kids now. Gerald could barely make it to the bathroom 100 feet away and the refrigerator 200 feet away downstairs once a day. He would sneak down when no one was looking with a tray and climb slowly back up the stairs, with the try loaded with drinks and snacks and junk food.

Once a week Gerald would get up and empty the trash when no one was home from his bedroom. Bags of trash he stored like a rabbit storing food, until no one was around and then disposed of them. No one knew Gerald existed except for the fact they kept feeding him food and drink and hearing the sounds of the games in the hallway and down the stairs throughout the house. This went on for a good 5 years and at times only visitors would wonder how Gerald was to his parents, but when they asked to see him, Gerald would tell his parents, he was too busy doing things and the game sounds would get louder. Slowly but surely over the next two years the gaming sounds from Gerald’s room would fade a little at a time. Becoming less and less to be heard from Gerald’s room daily. His own family tended to believe Gerald was fine, because the sounds did keep coming and going on and off and he never ever complained of anything.

Finally, after five long years, Gerald’s family began to wonder how come they didn’t see or hear from Gerald much anymore, what was he doing now a days. Was he really ok in that bedroom of his and  why didn’t he come out  or answer anymore?

One day, they decided it was time to see Gerald again and make sure he was alive and ok. As they pounded on his door there was only video games sounds inside and no verbal response from him.  They knocked harder and harder but no response still. So they tried to open the door to Gerald’s room, and failed not once but three times. Now worried frantically, they dialed 911 for help.

10 minutes later the fire department and police arrived to find out what this was all about, Amazed they listened to how someone wa sin this room and had been for so long no one knew what was happening, with him. They knocked first looking for response like everyone else did, but nothing. They asked for a key to the door but no one had one to let them in. The Police decided to try to break the door down by their shoulders yet it did not budge.

The Fire Department brought in a saw and they cut thru the door to Gerald’s room. They found Gerald who was now 400 pounds and leaning against the door as the door gave the rest of the way under his weight. Gerald died 400 pounds, happy with a tray of snacks, sodas and his video game controller in his hand! Sadly Gerald never bothered with anyone but the gamers online and ate like he did to do so, but he never interacted with real people in the outside world either.

Three days later they buried Gerald McLaney in a piano box, to hold his 400 pound body and before they tossed the dirt over his casket, they threw in his X-Box 360 and a controller!.

Silent Majority Speak Up/ Hillary Clinton

America it is now time for the silent majority to speak up and make changes, the 2014 midterm elections are almost upon us. If you believe as I do that Congress has been stalemating the country and not doing it’s job, now is the time to make a change. The silent majority which is the ones who get screwed every time congress wants to tax people, needs to speak up this 2014. We need to be rid of politicians who sit in office, who just don’t work for the american people. We need change America, a change for the better, like putting in people who will compromise, throwing out tea party candidates and backing democrats in my opinion. Republicans and Tea Party politicians have sat in Congress blocking bills and laws they have no business blocking, they lie, and are lazy actually. You want to make a difference this November vote democratic, get rid of the non- working Republicans and Tea Party Members and lets move the country forward.

Two years from this November will be the most important election America will have faced in a long time, as the Presidential Candidates will soon roll themselves out and announce. When they do America, please listen closely, pay attention and don’t make a wrong choice in the Voting Booth. This country has been stagnating under the past two administrations, under Bush due to stupidity and wars, under Obama because he  is black and the Republicans are blocking everything they do. Obama never really had a chance, even though he tried, with health care and more, it was all blocked by a Republican controlled Congress. Sad isn’t it folks, the economy is stagnated, the politic plans of Americans who need help are blocked and Republicans and Tea Party members sit back and do not a thing and then say re-elect me. Why? I have no idea if you can’t compromise and work together with your fellow colleagues, get the hell out of office and do something else, politics is not for you.

The closer we get to 2016, the more I feel our only choice is Hillary Rodham Clinton for President. Yes I know she would be the first Woman President, ever and many think she is hawkish. She isn’t really she wants to defend america and it’s people. She I am sure will have a domestic plan, to go with her foreign policies and more.  She will stand tall and tell the world and American People why certain things need done and how to keep us out of more wars. She will help to fix Obama care I am sure and handle the immigration problem in the correct manner. This is just the start of what Hillary Clinton can do people if elected. If you think the Republicans, Tea party or even an Independent can do better, then you need your head examined.

Vote Hillary Rodham Clinton for President!

9-11 Remembered!

America do not ever forget 9/11, do not ever forget unless we stick together as one people indivisible under God and Constitution, we can be overcome or hurt. That was proven on 9/11 with the dastardly attacks that hits us and the lives we have lost on that day and since from the after effects. we struggle each day to maintain our position as a leader and peacemaker of the world, but we can’t continue to do so forever. There comes a time when America must recoup and withdraw and allow someone else to provide and do the duties necessary to keep the earth going. So, if France, Russia, Italy, England, or any other country has the audacity or strength to stand tall and help Syria and their people do so now! America has helped the world through two World Wars, Korean Wars and Policing, Vietnam and Policing of it too. We have run to the rescue of Iraqis. Afghanistan’s , and many more, who has ever come to America’s rescue at any time, say hello to France who helped us way back in out Revolutionary War. We repaid them many times over and ever rebuilt Japan after their deadly attack on Pearl harbor and our Retaliation for it against them. No other nation has been so damn generous as to forgive and forget those who attacked them and rebuild them too. Isn’t time we stopped saving the world and save ourselves here at home?

Can It Be Explained?

How to explain things, you yourself do not understand, to someone else is rough, but it is even rougher when dealing with emotions and family or loved ones.  Over the decades I have lived now and believe it or not I am closing in on my 6th, being completed, the hardest thing in life to deal with is indeed emotions and how to express them. When you Hesitate doing so, you lose contact with them because you suppress them, and then you lose contact with the person it was meant for. How does one overcome that hesitation, and the regrets it produces years later? What should be done, well, that is what this is all about today.

In my childhood, I suffered from the how to disease myself and still do today, for expressing how you feel today someone one, or something is something I was taught as a child to avoid, yes I had parents who said boys don’t cry, boys are tough, boys can’t show weakness, boys have to be the strong one, I am sure I am not alone in being told it. It comes from being the son of a hardline father and mother who taught discipline and punished with beatings and more. It comes from a feeling of never fitting in, and feelings of being left out, ignored, or fighting to be recognized by one parent or both or even siblings. I know it sounds crazy, it doesn’t seem right, but in the end it is indeed a lead into mental problems, depression, and so much more when it happens to children.

This subject brings up things in my mind like, how do you tell a parent they are cruel unjust, wrong and just mean for beating you as a child when they are dead? How do you tell an elderly brother or sister, they were wrong for abandoning you as a child and leaving you alone to make your own way, when you needed them and they were never there? How do you tell an old girlfriend you loved her, but had no way to say or show it because you were not properly equipped emotionally to do so? So many of these questions go through my mind, as I close in on 60 years old, it seems to be overbearing and crazy, trying to deal with lost chance then and now, doesn’t it to you too?

So, I struggled back then and still struggle today, how to say I love you, miss you to the lost children of my first marriage, when losing them was not my fault?  How to say goodbye to parents who died of cancer well before their times, how to tell the world you failed to act or react to something and lost out and that there is no way to make it up to them or yourself? All of this is a question we as human being have to deal with daily, and me on a personal basis, I have many of these situations in my life as I age. Will I ever find a way to do it? Can it be Explained?

NFL Time is here! @014 to 2015 Season starts! Cancer and The Red Sox

Welcome to the Opening Sunday of the 2014 NFL Season folks! Yes I know Seattle Beat Green Bay on Thursday Night for the Official Opening Game and date, but this is what fans have waited for since last February.  30 teams hit the field on one Sunday to start a season to determine who will win the LOmbardi Trophy and claim the title. Football fans are setting up TailGate Parties, getting ready to fill stadiums and watch full grown men beat each other to death to get a ball across a line to score points. It’s almost like the Roman Gladiators of the old days, except in a more civil form lol. And we all love it, both sexes, and all colors, creed, nationalities, it’s an American game loved by Americans and The World, So let the games begin and may the best team win it all.

As to who will win the Trophy the normal suspects come to mind, Green Bay, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, New England, all top teams for many years. Then you have the middle bunch which can upset anyone and make it if they get a few lucky breaks, New York has Two such teams, Minnesota, Dallas, Cincinnati, Chicago, New Orleans, Philly and more.  Every year the league has certain teams that get beat up, left and right Buffalo, Texas, Miami, Detroit, Arizona and more. Some may surprise folks this year and get into the playoffs that did not before or haven’t for a long while.  But the seasons run will show us all that, won’t it. We shall see, if Okland can play, or San diego, or who is healthy where and how long they last. But all NFL Players must remember, no matter what position you play, you can get injured and be out for a season or longer of get a concussion, be careful out there.

They change some rules each season, try to control the Refs better and the players and the coaches too. But the fact of the NFL is simply folks, people want to se two teams go head to head and watch because it is exciting is all. So do us all a favor, enjoy!

That said and done we are now coming to the Baseball Playoff Season soon also. For me it was disappointing season as the Red sox fell apart and had a bad season. I will miss the people they traded for sure and so will the organization. Can Boston be rebuilt as a team, can it be a contender again we shall see, I was glad I lived long enough to see my Red Sox win World series titles again, in my lifetime. I have been a Red Sox fan since 1960, when my step-father and I watched them all the time I was four years old. We would sit there and watch them on tv and watch them lose each season, chocking and falling apart and bitch at the tv screen. Dad died in 1990 and never saw the Red Sox win a World Series in his lifetime, but I lived to see them all now. And I will never forget my only time in Fenway Park in 2013, for it was associated with my Cancer Fight.  I was diagnosed with cancer on August 4th 2013, lung cancer to be precise. I was rushed into surgery on september 4th, one month later and lost one and one third lobes of my right lung. No Chemo or radiation was needed, and I was one lucky man. By september 16th, 2013 I was outside Fenway Park, to see it live and see my Red sox beat the Yankees 5 to 1. My sister and her boyfriend had promised if I survived my surgery and was fine they would take me to fenway, I never  got healthier faster in all my life. I sat 5 rows behind the Red Sox Dugout staring at the Green Monster, I saw the height of the grass and saw my favorite players Ellsbury, Pedroia, Big Pappi and Jon Lester up front. I screamed when they scored, I jumped up when they almost hit homers and I smiled the whole day thru. I started the day at Fenway Park getting fish and chip at Jerry Remy’s and ended it with a good meal at a Blues Club there. I will never ever forget my one day at Fenway Park, because my sister who I love very much did it for me. I love ya Sis.

Childhood Dreams! / Joan Rivers

Childhood dreams do come back to haunt you when you grow up, especially if you never attain those dreams! Some of us dreamed of being President, or superheroes, or teachers, artists or writers. we dreamed of making the world better, to solving issues and making the world get along better. The truth is folks we are all put on this earth to complete missions we do not ever understand, but once those missions are completed we return to from which we came. It is not something mankind understands nor shall we ever understand, because we programmed as we are, a creator we do not fully understand. so when you stop one day, and are wondering what the hell you’re doing, stop and think about this, if you can up with something else to do, you going to stick around longer.

That said, Joan Rivers recent death is a loss for the entertainment community, her fans and the world! She has returned and passed comfortably as her family and friends said. Her wit, charm and  quickness as well as smartness made her Joan Rivers. Don Rickles said it himself she was quick -witted biting comic who worked with him and they were friends and road buddies because she was like him. No subject was off-limits for Joan and she told us why, when she said if I can laugh about it, no matter how horrible it really is, it makes it easier to take and handle! It was her way of fending off bad news, her way of handling an imperfect world, ans making it worth being in.

Robin Williams did the same thing folks as Joan, both made the world easier by making fun of themselves, the world, the situations and more that happen daily. So, many people die early and never finish the mission they were really put here to complete, but in the end someone else takes up the mantle and the world moves on. Joan Rivers will be missed as is Robin Williams, and the time the laughter dies, could really be the time the world does, but not yet, we have other famous comedians out there and more laughs yet to hear and see. So when you remember Joan Rivers, remember her wise cracking humor, remember her smile, remember her style, remember he entertaining ways. Remember the Joan Rivers we all loved and some loved to hate, the woman with the smile. rest in Peace Joan Rivers you did the best you could to make people happy and to make us laugh.
