Veteran’s Benefits,/ and Politics!

Veteran’s Benefits,/ and Politics!.

Veteran’s Benefits,/ and Politics!

Lets talk veterans and the benefits they deserve. I think all Veterans like myself who served their country and were injured in the line of duty, deserve to be treated with respect, honor, caring and the benefits should include all medical and dental coverage and aid needed to live a decent life. I see people who complain because veterans get eye care or equipment or dental care too. Sadly they wouldn’t need it, would they if they were not injured, disabled in service?. It matters not, where the injury occurred or how, unless it was determined to be their own fault, these veterans need help and their benefits ask me, I am one.

Veteran’s Hospital’s need to be able to expand the services they provide and they need facilities and equipment to do so. Here in Connecticut, West Haven has the Veteran’s Hospital for the area. They work out of an old hospital with equipment that at times seems outdated and it is definitely over crowded with patients of both sexes, from all branches of military service. Yet they can’t get Uncle Sam, or Washington to finance a simple parking garage so patients don’t have to drive in circles to park and get there an hour early to find a spot? Why? It is all part of taking care of our Veterans and we deserve better, I believe, if we can give our lives, our health and our well-being to protect and defend the country and police and fight other countries wars, as ordered by the Commander-in-Chief, well, you get the message I think.

Next subject, last night February 7th, 2012, I watched the Republican Primaries in three states go to one man and it wasn’t the front-runner at that moment. In a move that surprised the front-runner Romney and all pundits and newscasters, Rick Santorum, surpassed expectations and won all three. What does it mean for the republican nomination at this time and date?

My opinion at times does not always go with the normal, but it does at times stress some good points. It seems to me Romney made some mistakes in speaking about the poor as he did and making comments on firing people, when referring to Insurance Companies. He needs to watch what he says more carefully and be more forceful and aggressive toward all opponents he faces in this election. This nice guy attitude and stance is not going to win anything Mitt. Wake up it’s a war you’re in and they will use every action, word you say to slam you aside. If you want to win, don’t be one hundred percent negative either, you have to walk a thin line and balance it all.

Santorum I congratulate for his victories and his decisions to run as he did. The Former Senator, ran a clean, honest campaign in all three states, with very little negative involved. Mitt needs to learn from this victory by Santorum. It shows Mitt all that money you spend going negative against other Republicans could have been used in a more positive way and made you progress, instead of taking away from what you want!.

Now we shall see what happens next that is for sure in this run at The White House and Presidency! In the end though, I wonder how many Republicans and Democrats and Independents and Tea Party voters, believe that any Republican can actually beat President Obama.  Before you can beat what is in the office in The White House, you need to be presidential in your actions, decisions and character and speeches too, and mean what you say. It’s gonna be a long hot summer for all candidates including the President.    God Bless the United States and it’s people as we face a spring, summer and fall of listening to politicians who will speak and not mean half of what they say. I hope Americans are smart enough to know, they will say anything to achieve the White House!

Aging and Responses to It!

As we all age and get older, yes I know it is redundant, but who cares. We all tend to have things occur to us at different rates. Some end up over weight and bad backs and knees. Others end up worse with bad vision and hearing and still yet some of us end up with heart, kidney or liver problems or something like that. Isn’t smart to stop denying these things occur and go get help?

I ask this question because I see so many people who are too vain or stubborn to admit their organs, or body parts are failing them and they suffer for it. The wife who can’t hear or won’t see a hearing specialist, the man who won’t get glasses but he can’t see beyond his nose. These are individuals with pride and vanity that should forget their vanity and pride and get help.

The ones who deny anything is wrong one minute and then the next know there is something wrong but refuse to acknowledge it all or pay to get help. Silly isn’t it, but true.

We all grow old whether we are male or female, we all gray or lose hair, we all gain weight and we all end up fighting our own bodies to stay alive and survive and live normal. Why can’t we just all accept, what happens to us and take it all gracefully and admit it and age gracefully. Women tend to get more make-up, plastic surgery and go crazy over diets. Men tend to go crazy over diets, hiding their baldness and blindness too. It is funny how the frailties of older age, get to us all no matter what sex, race, creed or nationality isn’t it?

Talking about aging and time passing, what the hell is all this about President Kennedy fifty years ago dead now, doing an affair with some intern. Who really cares, he has been dead for fifty years folks, and the only reason a woman would speak up about such an affair this long after, is to gain fame and money. Do we really care what happened back then? Aren’t we all informed enough about President Kennedy and his sexual escapades already? And what does this woman expect to get out of telling her story of this affair now? What else to sell her book and make money is all.

As we age and time passes us by and we all become some part of history where ever we are from or who ever we are, isn’t it amazing, that life is a mosaic of incidents and experiences that forms a pattern we all end up following in one way or another?

Aging my friends is an unavoidable thing all species of life must do and we all face the fact sooner or later don’t we. We prepare for it and dying in our way, by medical testing, accepting it and in the end writing wills and testaments and instructions in how we want our bodies disposed of and where. Amazingly, when we are all gone from here, the world shall still be orbiting about, life will still be here and moving about in one form or another, and time shall never cease. Our response to aging is to try to hang onto life and prolong it, but is it what is intended by Mother nature? No one knows!.

The Stooper Bowl and The Stooges

The Super Bowl ended last night with a New York Giants Victory in the final few minutes. A Great game between two fine teams who played with emotion, skill and guts.

Now people of the United States it is time to get back to what I call the Stooper Bowl, the election season of 2012. The Republicans now have a front-runner beyond doubt in Willard Mitt Romney whom I call Moe. Moe is trying to clear up the problems with the other Stooges and remove them from his path to his destiny, he believes. Moe’s brothers are Curly- Gingrich, Shemp-Santorum and of course their age old partner Larry- Ron Paul. Like the Three Stooges from the old days they prank, poke and jolt and push Moe and he does it back. And it all looks so funny and nice for public consumption, everyone forgets, this is indeed a Presidential Election in 2012!.

Moe has won two states and has some delegates behind him now and is charging for a third me thinks or is it a fourth. Lets see he took New Hampshire, and lost Iowa, lost in South Carolina, won in Florida and now Nevada, ok so three. Yet the other stooges won’t drop out and back their brother Moe-Romney because he isn’t conservative enough, silly!.

A little advice for the remaining three Stooges may be in store!. One Curly-Gingrich/ Two-Shemp-Santorum/Three-Larry-Paul, the longer you stay in this race the worse you make the chance of your party winning in November. Second piece of advice to understand, money does not grow on trees boys, the money trees are about to get hit by a frost and deep freeze. If you can’t show a win that will propel you to the Nomination why would money back you? Wakey, Wakey boys, the facts are gonna bite you all in the ass!.

Mitt Romney-Moe in my opinion is out distancing his opponents the Stooges, because he looks presidential, he acts it and he has the money to do so.The real question is this though, can he overcome his inexperience and  talk straight talk to the American people and can he out talk President Obama and get the facts straight? I doubt at this point if he can beat President Obama, the reasoning is simple, Obama is the Incumbant, his record will carry him through it and when you attack his record you will attack your own party not his. Republicans made the stalemate and log jam in Washington, not the Democrats. Wake up America, whether any of the Stooges, get the Nomination of their party, including our darling MOe-Mitt Romney, do any of them have a leg to stand on come November?

Super Bowl Sunday Memories

Super Bowl Sunday has arrived in 2012, and the teams are the New York Giants and The New England Patriots. After working their way through a 16 game season, each team also worked their way through playoff games to get to the big ending. With music, sportscaster galore, and an audience of millions if not billions it will take place. The hype of the Super Bowl by the NFL is amazing as is the viewers it draws in. Money flows like water during and after it and lasts into the next season come September.

When I was a kid, Super Bowl Sunday consisted of a morning of working with Dad around the house to repair and rebuild it for a couple of hours, Then an afternoon of shopping for groceries for the big game and preparing the menu and chips and pretzels and drinks.  By the time we finished it all, we had supper, snacks, and places assigned and picked out in the livingroom for it all.

I remember dad would sit in his lazy boy recliner all comfy and I on the couch next to him. We would shoot the shit as the pre-game began and listen to all the things said about each team and their stars. Then there was of course the injury reports, and we would argue who was really injured and who wasn’t and why.

Finally the game would start, and not a pin could be heard to drop in the house, the women, my mother and sister would disappear and all that remained was me and dad staring at a 27 inch tv screen. We would discuss calls and plays picked and why they worked or didn’t. Turnovers were big events that always decided the game, and dad and I would yell and scream at the screen and players.  Always once the game was decided and we knew the best was over, suddenly like a magic switch, dad’s eyes would close and the snoring began. Ah, the good old Super Bowl events with dad.

Dad usually had one team and I the other for each game. We would cheer, yell, scream and even bounce in our seats with emotions of joy to despair. Amazingly, no one hurt themselves of course or anyone else. After the Game ended we discussed the game, who won and why and which players starred and which ones stunk too. It is a past time of enjoyment, we had together and both loved.

Then there was the spring coming, as Spring Training would start for Major League Baseball. The Red Sox would begin training in Florida and the Season would begin on time. Dad and I would discuss pitchers, hitters, managers and schedules. We would spend spring and summer watching the Red Sox rise and fall out of contention each year. For us it was tradition to know about Boston’s traditional slide from contention in September, expected as it was each year.

Dad would tell me how the Red Sox traded The Babe to New York and brought upon themselves the curse. Funny, but  who would have thought Dad would believe in such things!. Yet he did!

Before the Red Sox finally won a World Series again, Dad passed away from cancer at a young age of 59 years old. No more, do we prepare the same for big games, nor share a livingroom and stare at a 27 inch screen screaming. No more do I hear dad telling me what defense a team plays, or how they will score next. No more are the chips and drinks laid out carefully, the pizzas bought or home-made prepared. No more is dad here to see and share it all with me.

As I sit here and remember it all, dad, in his brown lazy boy recliner I bought him for Father’s Day years ago, and me on the couch, sharing it all just so. That is what Super Bowl Sunday is for me, a tradition of remembering dad and the fun we had together. Thats my Greatest Super-Bowl Memory of all, God Bless ya Dad!. Yes, Dad the Red Sox did finally win the World Series more than once!.

Things not to Do/and The Stooges!

Whoever wins in November’s General Election, should listen to the American people for a change or better than what is currently happening now. Sadly no matter what the American people say or do changes will occur in Government programs and more. Yet, the Candidates should be very careful what they touch and don’t touch, you want to cut budgets and save money there are many places to cut, instead of messing with people’s entitlements. If you cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicade or aid to the helpless in any way you better be prepared to hear from the people. Cut programs that are not worthy of being there and that don’t help anything.

Cut No Child Left Behind a worthless program that advances children who really are not ready to advance at all. Cut some justice programs, or some programs we pay for but no one uses. Be smart and don’t mess with people’s benefits, we earned them. Politicians tend to cut programs they have no business in, they don’t use them so they can’t understand them.

Cut your Space Program, some, don’t send us to colonize a moon or anything else we can’t afford it. Stop spending money we don’t have folks. Your borrowing forty cents on every dollar you spend, and in the mean time China is raking in the interest alone on what we borrow and getting richer daily. Stop borrowing, and that means don’t borrow from the Social Security funds either, they don’t belong to the Government, they belong to the people who paid into it for decades and need it in their older age. Run the Government like you would run your house and family if you were middle class or poor, only buy what you need and save for future problems. America is hurting damn you all, listen!

Americans voted in George W. Bush and then let him destroy what Clinton built before him, by coming up with stupid plans and directions for us to go into. Mr. Bush took a surplus of money and fortune and turned billions of dollars in the black, into a sea of red on the balance sheets. He totally went crazy with stupid shit. Why were we in Iraq, well, Bush wanted to prove his daddy was right and it could be done and straighten out his daddy’s reputation is all.  We don’t belong in Afghanistan either damn it, those people hate Americans yet we go fight their wars for them and protect them, why? Bring the troops home, the weapons home, the money home and lets put it back into our economy and our people and make us better. We can’t police the world, we can’t defend the world and we can’t stop evil everywhere, we do not carry and wear a big red S on our chest and can’t be hurt. We can and have been hurt by over expenditures, over protecting others, and reaching out to places we don’t belong.

Americans are not The Avengers or Justice League of the world, or any super heroes at all. We hurt when we help others and it shows. They undercut our trade agreements, they cut our export and raise their imports into our country and undercut the trade balance in their direction and cheat us. Wake up Washington, wake up Congress, balance the trade and you help balance America.

Now, onto to one more thing here. The Republicans and their primary race for their nomination. It is becoming a circus and the three stooges, Curly(Gingrich), (Shemp) Ron Paul, and (Larry( Santorum) seem to want to keep messing with (Moe) Mitt Romney and trying to prevent him from the nomination. They should all stop, reevaluate their positions and the comedy act they are running, and worry hard if any of them can beat President Obama. The sooner they do back off, and let Mitt Romney have the nomination the better it will be for their party. If Willard Mitt Romney is the nominee of his party for the November Election, then he is gonna need a lot of help and backers to beat Obama, consolidate now and help him, stop trying to tear him down. Just my recommendation at this stage folks.
