Racial Equality, Where?
The United States of America talks of racial equality for all every day of this nations history, yet each and everyday you run into unequally on the streets in the stores and in homes and more. I hear Hispanics attacking African Americans, who attack back, I see African Americans intimidating Hispanics, and Caucasians someone please explain why this happens in America today? I agree with many who say, Americans have no sense or idea of the history of each race, or color on the planet and are ignorant, we need to teach it in schools. For I have traveled the world over, in the U.S. Navy and I have met all races, all colors and most nationalities too, and I find more things in common then anything that separates us all.
Skin color my friends is nothing but a pigmentation and caused by genes. The thing to look at is this: we all have the same body parts, we all have the same organs, we all laugh, cry, scream and hurt, we all bleed. We all eat the same foods, we all go to the same schools basically and we all live in the same country and defend it. I tire of people who use skin color, nationality or anything else against someone, its stupidity at it’s best. America put up a shingle many years ago, that said give us your homeless, and we accepted all races, colors, creeds and nationalities, why can’t we all just understand this and get along?
Recently I was watching CNN, and they do specials on Hispanics, African-Americans but never one on caucasians. Why? Before you come up with it was the caucasian race that invented slavery, that’s crap too, they accepted it and tried to use it for their benefit true, but they didn’t invent it, it was a worldwide problem not just an American one. We tend to point at one another’s mistakes, errors or faults and never let go, don’t we? Sadly it will destroy humanity and the world if it continues no matter what.
American is a country of all races, nationalities and cultures. We are the biggest melting pot in the world that boils over for all kinds of reasons. In the end though, we are all Americans, we all would fight for what we have and to keep it so no matter skin color, or anything else. Wake up folks stop the racial fighting and the finger-pointing and realize, humanity is one.
Leaders of each race, color, nationality, should all stand together on one stage in America and declare all as equals and declare life as the one thing vital to all and tell their own race, their own color their own nationalities, to stop the bitter fighting, arguing, and racial bullshit and shake hands and come out togethe rto make the world a better place.
God’s Missions for Mankind?
God’s Missions for Mankind?
Sometimes, no matter how hard you fight, or hope, you can’t win and other times you can. I suppose the balance for all of this, is in God‘s hands not humanitys. I have seen now, five family members go from Cancer in my family alone in my lifetime, one old female friend survive it suffering as she does, and the newest of them all is my current wife. She came through the first bout of cancer over 5 years ago, and took the radiation and chemo as I stood by her, and she is here today. Reoccurances do happen it seems, and she can’t win I guess. The first time through we had 29 lymph nodes removed from under her left arm pit, and it went well. This time we know not yet, how many tumors if any exist and how big they may be. But we shall struggle along and do what Doctors have said to do and see how it goes. The end result as we all know, is not in my hands, my wife’s hands as the patient, or even her Doctors hands, but in the hands of God.
Long ago when I was a very young boy around 5 of six years old. I used to attend church and Sunday School lessons on Sundays. I prayed and drew pictures of churches and Jesus and more, and hoped someone would protect us all. As I grew older I have slid away from churches and religion entirely it seems and all seemed fine. But with this happening now once more I wonder, is there really a God who listens to us?
I do though understand one thing firmly about humanity and life, we struggle to stay here but ultimately time wears us down and we depart the planet to return to where we came from. It is a fact of life for all human beings regardless of race color, nationality or sex, we all live, we all die at some point. In the end though some of us are taken too soon and it is sa dit happens and nothing we can do about it either.
I have a belief from when I was a little boy that goes like this: We are all put here on earth to complete certain mission, those missions are unknown to us, but we complete them without really knowing what they are. When we complete the final mission assigned to us we are recalled back to from whence we came. Which explains death by disease, illnesses of all kinds and accidents and even natural death. We all die, once we complete all we were put here to do, by the supreme being, or God. So do the best you can do in life, be good to all, be respectful to all and try to live in peace, for you never will know when you are to be called back from whence we all came.
Cancer May be Back!
January 18th, 2012 is here, hard yo believe but so am I still, in a week I will turn 56 and have out lived my real father. He died of cancer in November 1983, lung cancer got him, as it did my step-father in 1990 and my mother in 1991. Prior to any of them was a girl I know in High School who developed ovarian cancer and still survives today. And now I have lived through my second wife having cancer also once and the chemo and radiation treatments and she has survived 5 years, but now tests show lumps coming back in her breasts. Tomorrow the battle starts once more with MRIs, biopsies, and worry, as we begin once more to wait out God‘s decision on whether she will live or die.
The battles I have seen with cancer, go back now to 1971 and the year my maternal grandfather died of it in a nursing home. His was pancreatic as was my step-fathers in 1990. My real parents went from lung cancer, neither capable of quitting cigarettes right up until they could smoke no more. It doesn’t matter though what you do, or how you do it, humanity has not found a cure for this, the deadliest disease on the planet. I wish to God they would and soon, but I am just one person who has people dying or ravaged by this disease, imagine me multiplied by millions. How do the survivors of cancer victims, their loved ones keep going, never knowing if we ourselves will face this, or if someone else we know and love may too. Sadly, we can never predict it and no Doctor can either, all we can do is help to try to defeat or eliminate it in some way with money and time.
If I could find a way to beat such a disease as Cancer, or any other diseases I would, I am not a science major, or a medical expert, so I have no knowledge of how to beat something so deadly. The experts, both in the medical field and science fields have fought this disease now for decades upon decades, and no one can stop it , it seems. I have seen this disease caused by a blow to a leg and found in a thigh of my sister when she was young and removed. I have seen it kill my grandfather in one organ and my step-father in the same, I have seen it ravage a young woman’s life through her own ovaries, and parents die of it, from smoking. I don’t want to see my second wife go from this. Over 5 years ago now, we went all the way to Sloan Kettering in New York to help her, I will do so again if needed. But someone , Please just tell me how do you stop a killer like Cancer?
Racial Comments No More Please!
Racial Comments No More Please!
CNN has many reporters and many political experts and speakers, but some one needs to explain why, it has Rowan Martin. While I believe in equal opportunity and I believe Mr. Martin can indeed speak well and write well at times, his attitude regarding racism and the interaction between the races, is in my opinion poorly handled. Here is a man who comes across as highly intelligent, well spoken when he speaks sense and politics. But go one step to speak of the differences between the races and wham Mr. Martin will go off the deep end raving and ranting. Unnecessary, Mr. Martin, this is modern-day America, not the days of slavery, or the Civil War or before. So please calm the hell down when you discuss this area of discussion. You make yourself look silly on television and foolish as an individual so educated, yet so touchy. I have seen now Black History Month come to be, we honor African American Leaders a lot too, Booker Washington, Rev. Martin Luther King JR. and others. We recognize African-Americans contributions to the country and their sacrifices daily on History Channels and more. Relax Mr. Martin no one wants to take away any fame, honor, contributions or rights of African-Americans, we all live in peace today. We don’t need a resurgence of the Black Panthers or racial riots at all, thank you.
While we are discussing this though, Mr. Rowan Martin, I have a simple problem with the way you talk also. You get upset when people call the African-American Race anything but African-American and I agree it is wrong to do, but do me a favor ok, stop calling the Caucasian Race white!. We are not white, we do not blind you in the sunlight, we are not honkies, we are not country bumpkins either. We are Caucasians and that is the fact, please refer to us in that way and get off your high horse on being African-American you’re not alone. No one likes being called racial names and slandered and attacked by anyone and we all know that don’t we, Mr. Rowan Martin, so be more careful in how you speak please.
I served in the United States Armed Forces for almost 16 years, I worked side by side with every race and cultural and nationality out there, I visited Europe, The North Atlantic Countries, South America and even The Virgin Islands. People are people no matter what color or race or nationality, If treated with respect, and kindness and as equals all will get along. We need not this divide or fight over who is superior or who is inferior in the United States, that is why we are the United States. We accept everyone, till they disrespect us, or attack our country and way of life. So before we fight over who is Hispanic, African-American, Caucasian, or Oriental, lets remember we are a country who takes in all, and that is what makes us great. If there was ever a country in the world that, accomplished accepting all and respecting all and letting all live together it is the United States of America, and all Americans should be proud to live here and respect one another!.
The Real Election is Coming
The Real Election is Coming
As the Republican list of Candidates starts to whittle down one by one for lack of funding, we are getting closer and closer to the big bout of the year. That being a Republican Candidate head to head with President Obama for the big prize. It will be interesting to see how such a head to head will change the dynamics of this election cycle so far, I don’t think it really will.
The Republicans left now are led by Mitt Romney who has run for public office many times and just never won except as a Governor in his old home state. Ron Paul is running to tip the status quo as he himself says and he doesn’t believe he will ever get the nomination. Newt Gingrich is running just to really put a boot in Romney’s ass and to make the whole thing look good. It’s sad really but true. Santorum meant well when he joined in this race, but he is not ready for prime time as the actors and actresses would say. Maybe in the future Rick, for your still young enough. Rick Perry reminds me of that old coach for the New Orleans Saints Jim Mora, Super Bowl what Super Bowl, don’t speak to me about a Super Bowl. Rick Perry should quit and go home he is another not ready for prime time player. And I congratulate Jon Huntsman on his ability to know when to quit without putting himself in too deep.
Whether Romney gets the nomination or any other candidate, they will have an uphill battle to get the White House from President Obama. What I really doubt strongly is if any of these candidates left can beat Obama at all. Even Mitt Romney who speaks pretty good and says things pretty clearly does not have the strength of experience to overcome Obama this election year in my mind.
Sadly but surely the list of candidates will whittle itself down, one by one, and one Republican will stand to face President Obama. In the end though who can really beat him out of those standing? I don’t know, but I do know this much, as long as Obama keeps working to fix the economy, keep his health care plan in place and keeps us out of wars, I am ok with him for four more years.
