Mackey- By; William M. McCurrach

Mackey

Hidden inside every human being is that desire to be loved, wanted and needed, but, some never get that attention do they?  Such is the case for Mackey  Storm, a boy born to parents in constant  confusion and pain, Mackey believed he was alright, at least that is what they always told him, yet as he grew older Mackey knew he was different, then everyone else. His mother seemed to pull back from him when he was around 5 or 6 years old. Why Mackey never grasped or understood and his father well he never got close anyway, always busy, working and doing his own things.

Mackey began to notice how he was different not from his looks that’s for sure, cause Mackey was always a handsome lad, with bright eyes and dark ebony hair and a smile that made others smile back. No it was when people started to talk to Mackey that things changed. Mackey always seemed to be one step ahead of all conversations and knew what others were going to say, why, Mackey never understood.  Mackey was a straight A student, but he was shunned by the other kids, they sensed he was different.

Mackey began to realize he was different himself at 5 years old, when his mom told him no about something he wanted and less than 5 minutes later after Mackey stared at her, she changed her mind and gave in.  Mackey got the candy that day and every day.  At least it was so easy for Mackey he would laugh at anyone having trouble with anything. The other kids would try again as Mackey said to and the next thing they knew, as Mackey stared and watched them they flew through it and finished it all correctly. Mackey had that kind of effect on people, he would reinforce them by telling them they could do it and wham it was done. Mackey did this to whoever, he could, never hurting anyone, because he was a good kid.

By the time Mackey hit ten years old, he stood 6 feet tall and he was an imposing figure. Many thought he was tall for his age and they were right.  What wasn’ t  normal were those days when Mackey seemed to control everything around him and everyone too. It was like a magic spell fell over every person within Mackey’s eye sight.  He would just watch and see things done the way he thought they should be. Amazingly, he would stare and his brow would furrow and his eyes became like two pins of light. The next thing Mackey knew, no matter what it was, came out Mackey’s way.

When Mackey hit his teenage years at 13, and he noticed girls, he could have anyone he wanted,   they swooned for him and hung on his every word.. It was wild to watch for sure, but Mackey or those who knew him never questioned it, they just assumed he was a popular kid. Never a question was asked why it was all so, it was just accepted by all.

Then at 16, as most kids do, Mackey began to mature a bit and see things a little differently and he began to understand this weird power of control he has.  By concentrating, Mackey could make almost anyone do anything and he seemed to see into the future too, he could tell people not to do something cause he could see bad events in the future, in his sleep.

At 18 Mackey filled out and his weight went up to 220 lbs. and pure muscle. He never exercised a day in his life, it was natural for him.  Mackey was now a young man, he was strong physically as well as mentally. Mackey’s predictions of the future, became more intense and clearer for him. He could now make out faces on the people in his dreams and he heard names and sounds too. His dreams were now, as good as being awake.  After a night of these dreams, he had to go out and find the people in them and try to prevent harm from happening to them. Mackey saved many a person this way in his 18th year. He would run to the places he saw in his dreams and find them in real life and sit and wait until his dream started becoming reality and then step in and change it, stopping the person from getting injured or killed. Mackey begin to believe this was his purpose in life, his destiny to help others with his gift of future sight and control and intelligence. It had to be thought Mackey, why else would he be able to know and do all he did?  But, it grew tiring after a few years for Mackey. Something was wrong with Mackey now, but, he couldn’t tell what. The pattern of seeing, reacting and fixing was slowly wearing on Mackey’s nerves

On Mackey’s 21st birthday, he awoke in a peaceful manner, his eyes opening slowly as the light from the window hit them and he adjusted to it. He lay in bed, just relaxed and no aggressive moves or actions did he take, just   laying   there. Mackey thought finally it is over, no more dreams, or sights, no one close by I want to control or even will try to. A peace hit Mackey that day. In his mind all Mackey could hear or see were his own thoughts, no one else’s .

Mackey’s parents now older and in their 50’s gave Mackey a 21st birthday party that day, they invited all his friends and relatives, spending a good grand on it all. Mackey got presents and money and lots of hugs and kisses and Happy Birthdays. The party lasted most of that evening and into the night, not ending till 1 am. Mackey was now 21 and he was dead tired, he trudged off to bed now, and fell asleep.

The next day, for Mackey was weird, he had no more control over others, his intelligence seemed just normal not high anymore, yet Mackey felt normal in all other ways. He wasn’t dreaming of anything, anymore, Mackey felt scared too, for the first time in decades.  Mackey knew then he needed  help, someone who could answer what happened to his abilities and powers so to say, why have they disappeared? Mackey wanted to know but had no idea where to turn for help, he floundered around looking for reasons and help,  no one came to help him at all.

Mackey awoke on his 22nd birthday and climbed from bed, his hair a mess on his head, his eyes half open, and stumbled into the bathroom, looked in the mirror and froze in surprise. The man looking back at him, looked like an 80 year old man!. Mackey screamed and his body shook and shuddered as he screamed and yelled, help me!  But no help was coming, Mackey knew it now as he raised his hands to his face and felt the creases and wrinkles of old age and cried, I am only 22!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That afternoon, Mackey laid in his bed, tired again and no place to turn to, he closed his eyes and prayed to dream, but, no dreams were to be found for Mackey now.

6 am, the next morning, Mackey’s friend and neighbor came knocking on his door, no answer so the friend kept knocking for the next few days, after three days and no answer, the neighbor got worried and called the police, they arrived within 30 minutes of the call. As the neighbor explained   his worries over Mackey’s disappearance and not answering the door, the police listened . They told the neighbor we will check on him before we leave, then, headed to Mackey’s apartment.

Knocking on the door and no one answering the Police decided they needed to look in on Mackey and make sure he was ok. Sending the neighbor for the key from the landlord they waited outside Mackey’s door. When the neighbor gave the key to the police, they went in. A smell came from the apartment as soon as the door opened, causing the police officers and the neighbor to gag at the smell.

In the bedroom they found Mackey, sprawled across his bed, a skeleton was all they found. Mackey was dead at 22 years old and all that remained was his skeleton in his bed. Mackey had burned himself out, by dreaming his dreams, following them and controlling others, his futuristic visions and powers had eaten Mackey to death.  Mackey self combusted from the inside, out, is what the autopsy found, and they never found the cause. He lived his short life helping others with his futuristic visions and his power of controlling others, Mackey will go down in history as a helper and humanity will miss him.

Why The Days Must End? by William M. McCurrach

Why The Days Must End? by William M. McCurrach

Why Must the Days End?

Why do the days have to end?

Why do the nights have to come?

The Darkness rolls in,

Night reminding me,

Of, my past,my sin.

I didn’t know what you wanted or needed,

You refused to say,

So now I wonder and think,

All night and through the day.

I go thru life, a statement reverberating in my mind,

It’s one I carry with me,

And shall for all time.

My father, laid dying on his bed you see,

And these are the words he said to me:

My son he said my days have come and gone,

I shall leave you before for long.

But live you life to the fullest and enjoy,

Do today what you love the most,

Enjoy life to the fullest, and love those around you the deepest,

For though I be gone and you may cry,

Please remember these words, I give you to keep and hold.

Live your life with honesty and truth,

Be happy, be true, be honest and be bold.

As I leave you now he said:

I shall be gone and you will cry,

But remember this is not really goodbye.

We are all put here for a purpose, yes a plan.

When we fulfill that purpose our time has come,

And our life is done, and I am just a man.

The days will pass, the weeks will come and go,

The weeks, will turn to months, the months to years,

And over time,  you will, have cried all of your tears.

But live your life for each day you are here,

For the calendar will continue to roll,

Time will pass before you know,

In the end my son,

We all eventually do what we have been put here for,

And our time is done.

Then he rolled his head, in his bed,

The vomit came, his eyes rolled back in his head,

And peacefully, and in silence he was dead.

I remember that day oh so well,

I remember the fishing trips, the pizzas, the laughter and the tears,

And have carried his words, with me and lived them for all my years

Racist Comments have no Place!

Welcome to the world is what they say to many babies who get smacked on the ass to get started breathing, then we go on automatic and breathe and then go for many, many years till we die. Isn’t it funny how that happens to all who live at one point in their lives.

The other day I heard the a Presidential Candidate said a racist remark and got caught on tape. Television News played it over and over across the news waves and we all got to see what he said. Well if that doesn’t ruin his bid for the Republican Nomination nothing will. I thought and firmly believed for many decades Racial profiling and discrimination were dead in America? What happened? But I can’t stop slip ups by candidates running for office nor can I save the whole human race from suffering. But I can say discrimination, no matter against who or what is just down right, bullshit!. The color of one’s skin or nationality or even language one speaks has nothing to do with the person inside, we are all human beings.

A little thought along these lines for all to understand my point. When I was small and young we lived in the projects, brick apartments lined in a row attached to one another numbering up to eight. Families side by side, regardless of color, race, religion or any other thing. All of us played with each other, went to school with each other, and even argued with each other, but no one was called out for being racist or discriminating . We all lived in the same buildings, the same economic shape and raised children that we loved. The similarities out weighed the color barrier any time period. If I get cut do I not bleed, if I get hurt do I not cry, if I get something good do I not laugh or smile? Of course we all do, whether we are Caucasian, African American, Oriental, or Hispanic, no matter where our forebears came from, we are all human beings, we may not always talk the same, or walk the same, but we all feel the same. The world needs to remember this!.

When I was a boy playing in the yard in the projects, I remember like most kids at a young age, I would get a jar and lid and try to catch bees to look at. I was a small tyke at the time maybe five or six years old. As I went to put the jar over the bee I missed and it stung me big time on my hand. As I stood there crying in the yard, an elderly woman opened her door, and came outside and packed my bee sting in caked mud, drawing the stinger from my hand. She told me to be more careful and asked me if I was ok, I said yes and she smiled and went back in her home. The lady’s name was Mrs. Corey, she was one of the nicest women I ever met and that anyone in the projects ever knew, with one simple act of kindness we were friends and united. She has a son and    older than I of course, and for all who don’t understand she is and was African-American and I am Caucasian, it didn’t matter than and it doesn’t matter today.

So here is what I say about Racial Profiling, racist comments and language and discrimination , we are all human beings, we deserve equality, we deserve respect, we deserve the same treatment no matter what color, race, nationality we are, that is what America was built for, equality, opportunity, and the  chance to live in peace, can we just do that and all get along and stop calling names, slurs, ethics, color, or anything else. And if a candidate does show racist comments just do what adults should do, hold it against the person who did it not an entire race, color or country or the world. Racist comments of any kind, have no place in the world we live in!.

Elective Thoughts About 2012

I have heard many, many Presidents say different things over the years, but the worst and most unbelievable and stupid was and shall always be George W. Bush. He made promises never kept, he raised taxes and gave tax breaks to the rich, and declared there was no such thing as Global Warming just for starters. He also never knew till told,on Television gas prices went over 3 bucks a gallon!  Sadly, Mr. Bush was given a second term and he ran the country four more years than he should have. In eight years in office Mr. Bush destroyed America and put us so far in the red, the rest of the world downgraded us, after he left.  I know and understand why Mr. Bush got a second term it was simple like someone said to me one day, when I asked why would they vote for him, the answer, he got us into the war, I wanted to give him a chance at getting us out. Not a smart reason to reelect a President who had no idea what he was really doing.

Now we are in 2012, the Iowa Caucasus has spoken and so have the people of New Hampshire to the nation and the Republicans, they choose Mitt Romney in both cases to lead the fight against President Obama, shouldn’t the rest of the Republican world listen to them? We shall see as South Carolina speaks next, I just hope when they do on the 21st of January here, they don’t make a big mess out of the whole system.

I read a piece this am on the internet that said, the only thing standing between Mitt Romney and the Republican Nomination is Newt Gingrich and his new Super Pac. If this is so, I would recommend the Republicans and Independents who back Mitt Romney tell Mr. Gingrich to stop what he is doing. This in fighting between Republican Candidates that endlessly attacks Mitt Romney or whoever may lead the pack at the time, needs to stop. If the Republicans want a fair chance at winning the National Election come November 2012, you better stop giving the opposition ammunition to fire at your own party and candidates. Your only killing your own party’s chances come November.

That said lets just take a short look backwards now at history some. Presidents who take us to war  get more terms than those who don’t, why is that? The same dumb excuse someone told me to reelect George W. Bush, they got us in it let them get us out right, wrong! Wars are not games with little toy soilders you played as a kid. Nor are they necessary to solving world problems unless it involved stopping killing of innocents, we really need to care about. Even then who the hell are we, the world’s police force, nope, mind our own I recommend.

In the end this is what I see as an Independent Voter, who can vote anyway I damn well want come November. People get swayed in elections by silly things candidates say or do. It’s not what they say they can do, it’s not what they can do, it is what will they do. If you want any Candidate for the Presidency to actually do the job they promise then you need to give them a Congress that will back them up and help them pass the necessary changes needed to change and improve our country and it’s economy and standing in the world. Remember, when you elect a Congress that doesn’t back the President you elected, you are only asking for a log jam and stalemate in Washington, DC and hurting all Americans by doing so.

Creation and Theories, But……

Mark Twain said it and i believe it, everyone can write, but only a few are really writers. Styles change, people grow and something they say things they don’t know, but, most writers try to verify facts and then take literary license as they go along. It’s true not everything you read is one hundred percent truth!.

No on can honestly say, that the world’s problems belong to all of us, they don’t really. Each person has small problems and some larger ones, so we all try to survive at our own rate. Some of us don’t make it through the whole thing and surrender others well, they soar through with flying colors. Such are the fates of civilization on this bright blue ball of a planet we call earth.

Fates control things we humans can not, some say God does, but is there really a god? Because if we all stop to look at this mankind’s and the universes creation comes down to a few theories, yet no one can answer them all fully or prove the exact way we all got here, planets, universe and people.

We have the theory of The Big Bang, where two particles got together and bam a larger one multiplied from that collision and kept on happening all this is , is here. If so then please tell me where the two originating particles came from and why it produced all of what is here?

We have evolution, while we know parts of Evolution are true if we examine the species on the planet and how humanity came from the sea and moved to land. It still leaves us with the ultimate question does it not, we may have evolved from another species or from a water mammal or whatever, but, if so can we follow the pattern of evolution back to where we all came from, no!

The last one to hold on in many hearts and minds is the Religious one, that God created all there is and thus we have survived and become what is here. Is this the truth of all creation and if so, then the final question has still not been answered has it? If God created the Universes, the planet, and all life forms, then can anyone answer us the big question where did this God come from, and what true form does he or she take? We will never know, will we, for if we were intended to know, by whatever created us or who created us, we would know by now.

Just as one must wonder where all creation comes from, one must also wonder why all there is ultimately dies or ceases to exist. There is no permanent power source for humanity, animals, particles, or anything else that lives or shows some form of life. It all dies eventually doesn’t it? So, will we ever solve the mystery of where all came from and how all was created that we live in, I doubt it, but it can be interesting to balance and study all of the theories, isn’t it!.

Cancer the Deadly Killer Strikes

I will be 56 years old if I reach January 25th, 2012 and I have lived through many things here in America, but somethings you just wish didn’t happen at all to the ones you love and care about. My life has been filled with people I have loved, hated and sometimes just put up with, but the ones you care about always count most.

Way back in the 1970’s I first heard the word Cancer. A deadly word and a deadly disease, sadly it kills millions a year across the globe. They have so many forms of it, it is hard to imagine, but yet there it is. Progress has been made fighting cancer but not enough as  some shall see here.

In the 1970s I was a  teenager still in High School when I first heard the word Cancer. It came up in a conversation about the first girl I was ever attracted to. I found it hard to believe but it was true for her and still is today. So that was my first hearing of cancer, but far from the last for sure.

Joining the cancer victim list, next came my real father in 1983, he died of lung cancer smoking too much and he left behind 9 kids and a wife. Sadly, I didn’t know him that well although I did meet him a few times, but his death took him away at 55, my age currently.

In 1990 after spending 16 years in the military serving my country I came home. When I did I found another cancer victim in my family, my step-father God Rest his soul. He was diagnosed with Cancer in February of 1990 and by October of 1990 he died in a hospital. He refused anything except pain medications, and died in a hospital bed. But Cancer wasn’t done yet, was it?

While my step-father was dying of cancer we received a phone call from the Doctors, and had to meet in a hospital board room. As we stood there we watched mom as her Doctor explained she had cancer and was dying too. She died one year and 1 day after her then husband. Cancer had now ravaged one girlfriend and three parents on me, was it finally over? Nope!

1993 I met my second wife, who was healthy, and fine and we became very happy together. We married 7 years later in our new backyard of the home we bought, under the beautiful willow trees, the year 2000. by 2004, we headed to Doctors something was wrong with her. After trips to Doctors, and Hospitals and even New York for specialist we found out she now had Breast Cancer, it struck again.

We spent a year  with my wife in and out of chemo treatments and then radiation treatments, I ended up shaving her beautiful hair from her head. But she survived this bout and overcame having to take medications and survive. Today is now 2012 as we all know, this is now going on our 12th year together, come September, hopefully we will make it that far.

January 7, 2012, the phone rang again, the Doctor called my wife had her MRI done a few days before. The Doctor told her on the phone, something is there, three nodes have shown up and two are lighting up the MRI. Instant depression set in for her and for me, what now, where do we go and what do we do? I have no idea and neither does she really. She will need biopsies again to determine if it is cancer or fatty tumors. Once we know we of course will do what ever is necessary to try to save her life. Cancer what a nasty word, cancer it cripples, it destroys, it injures and in the end it kills. I just hope for me, and for my wife it doesn’t take her from me!. I know without her, I would crumple and she knows it too!. So Pray for her and lets hope for the best and stay positive is all I can do.
