May Peace Come!

The day is December 21st, 2011, the longest day of the year, each year. The Holiday Season is upon the world and in the USA, people rush to and fro, looking for last-minute gifts for the places they go. The lights are every where, at least where they can afford to be, but what bothers me, is the darkness from some out there.  Yet, Tis The Season to be Jolly and all that good stuff, so I will try to be nice and not too rough.

Americans will be paying more payroll taxes after the first of the year. The Senate and Congress decided to go home without a solution to any of it. The House Leader and his Republican partners in crime, decided once again, to let Americans pay the dime. Lets play political ping-pong with this bill and see if the Democrats will give in or if we can get the Senate to come back to Washington, DC this Christmas Season. Well, Mr. House Leader, they won’t come back because you force them to not want to come back. Your stubborn, idiotic and pushy, you want everything your own way and so does your party, and it can’t happen that way.

Sadly, each day I see a man who was very lucky to become The House Leader, act like a greedy little child who believes his way is the only right way. The Republicans first say no we won’t vote to extend the payroll taxes, then get the Democrats to change them to fit what they want, then the Senate approves it for two months and now the Republicans say oh no, we want a full year extension. Wake up, if this is not political ping-pong then I am a frog.

The Iraq War is ended for Americans now and sadly some of those same Americans, asked to fight in Iraq and protect Iraq are now being sent to the next dumbest war area on the planet Afghanistan. These people in Afghanistan hate America and it’s people and would rather see us wiped off the face of the earth, yet we go in and help them fight their war? Are we out of our minds?

To close this today, I want to say, not all I do is Rave and Rant on such political items and pick on politicians. I write poetry sometimes and post it online, I write Short Stories of childhood days, holidays and more and post them for all to read. But, the biggest thing I do is acknowledge that the world may have all its wars, all it’s pain, all it’s hurts too, it may change with time and go on forever, yet we all don’t do we?

So as the Holiday Season across the world is building to its big day on December 25th, here in the USA, many are ready for the big day. Children await the presents and toys, they all of a sudden become good girls and boys. The stocking are hung and the wreathes we can see, the lights at night can blind you and me.  On Christmas morning come sun, or snow, sleet or rain, the Holiday will remain. A Quiet will fall over the world,  and maybe for one brief second, we can all be good boys and girls!. So, I request from all who may read this and see, Let Peace be on Earth and goodwill to humanity, and may it last for longer than a day this time!.

Vote Them Out, Make History!

Social Security and Medicaid two service given to people who really need them after they work and earn them for years. The Medicaid takes some medical and prescription costs away for the elderly and disabled and social security they get to live off of after they have paid into it for decades and finally need it to survive or for disability again. So why mess with these items if your Congress, don’t you understand the number of people who depend on these two items in their lives to survive?

Then we get oh, we have a Tax Plan and we want to take the money out of Social Security to help pay for it, hell no, keep your mitts off of our money!. What the hell is wrong with you folks in Congress, you build a working program, you have people pay into it for decades into their life, automatically deducting from their paychecks, then when they need it most it’s gone because you borrowed from it? Stop the bullshit, leave Social Security alone and Medicaid too. The American People who served and fought for this country, the disabled and aged need that money to survive in today’s world, where will they get the money for the medications, Doctors and bills the elderly must pay then to survive?

That said, Congresses slip-shod performance and petty bickering has taken this country to the brink of destruction many times now in the past few years. Why the hell is that happening, because instead of leading and advancing America towards a better future and what is needed most, politicians in America have decided to block each others parties, bills, and laws and act like spoiled children instead of adults. Wake up, Senators and Representatives it’s time to get something done. If I had my way I would have all of you staying in the capital until it was all bickered and fought out and the solution was in.

The Senate and House are  all going to be home for the holiday as we all well know. Their Trees and Decorations will be up and shinning bright, their families will have heat, a home, food and places to sleep and many presents piled at their feet. Isn’t it great to have money and fame at the price of Americans hurting of whom you don’t even know their name?. Oh yes, you great big politicians earned it right with all of your hard work in Washington, DC. , before you collect it, could you please show the work you did to my fellow Americans and me. We will decide your evaluations now, the time has come, you definitely did not get enough done!.

So, as America gets ready for the biggest Holiday Season of the Year, and we close in on the end of 2011, I wish someone would review the performance of these so-called hard-working politicians in Washington, DC, grade them like you would any other student no matter of color, race or anything else. If we do this Congress, Senators and Representatives, sucked, they don’t deserve pay raises, they don’t deserve job security, or benefits, what they deserve is a shot at standing in the unemployment lines like the rest of the Americans, they dumped on and didn’t help. Lets throw them out of office, lets find new people to do the job we need for our country, our welfare and our well-being, please. Vote the Idiots who can’t compromise out, vote the ones out who want to damage programs Americans need out, let’s get the country going again, Change the Senate and Congress so that we have people who will compromise and work for us. Vote them all out and let’s make history America!.

Never Learned Did We?

I have found myself ranting and raving on subjects I find important to me or on subjects for fun or because of  the Holidays lately. I find that to be my feelings at the time I write these things. Yet, some feel they must criticize and spam my little blog page for no reason other than to say they didn’t like the subject, silly people indeed.

No one will like everything you say and I am man enough to know and expect such things, especially in a world filled will closed-minded individuals who prey on the weak most of the time. The world is a big place indeed and no matter what, freedom of speech is vital, at least in America, thank god.

Americans have more freedoms than most other nations because of our laws, our Bills Of Right and ultimately the Constitution. The constitution is a wonderful document backed up by the American people and The Bills of Rights backs that document up as  much as any can do. The biggest part of all of it, is the separation of powers, that keeps the Branches of Government separate as well as keeps separate the Government and Church. Smart move by the amazing Founding Father of America, way back than. While I firmly believe in all of the above, I have a problem with the checks and balances at this time, when one party can block the others bills or laws they are trying to put through to advance the economy and country and not compromise. Sadly this is happening in our Government and it should stop, grow up politicians, grow the hell up please.

America’s biggest problem at the end of 2011 is not the economy or the wars we fought and won or lost, it’s the in fighting between politicians and political parties in Washington, DC.  What kind of action to help the American Economy, job market or American people is this? Bicker, fight, argue is normal folks, but not to this extent. Washington, DC. was created as a hub for our leaders to lead in not to grandstand, block, barricade and hurt the people. Wake up Politicians , please your killing us.

An open message is added here, for the American People tired of all this hurt, pain and living in fear and no advancing the country out there. Make a choice , use your voice, vote damn it and be heard, make these politicians hear our voices and our words. Send home the uncompromising, uncooperative ones, and watch how the hell ya vote and for who and why. A person I know , I asked one Presidential Election why he was voting for the Incumbant President, his answer was, he got us into the war, lets give him four years to get us out. Stupid really folks, he had no intention of pulling us out, he wanted it to go on to feed the industrial base he had and make money, now he is gone. Yet the war still did rage on, until the current President said enough and got tough.

American’s, we have been the police of the world, the military might of the world, the rescuers of the world too damn long!. My question is simple when will another country take the lead, when will they help, police, protect and defend someone and let us live in peace?. When in American History have you seen a country coming flying in to help us defend, protect or advance our nation in any way. Find that one in recent history please, for the last ones to help us with anything was France and we repaid them by freeing them from Germany and Hitler many years ago now.

No one came  to our defense when the Twin Towers fell, no one offered to help us rebuild did they? Nope, we sat here and did it ourselves and did it right. Yet we, get involved in other people’s wars and countries trying to help and never get repaid or helped ourselves, ever notice that?.

In World War I, Germany went berserk and tried to rule the European countries and world, who stepped in and helped stop them Americans is who. World War II, Germany and Japan and Italy gather and become the Axis Powers and spread their domination and power all over the planet, who steps in and turns the tide and ends the mess, Americans again.  We then have a brief period of peace and comfort. Then here comes a country divided over itself and its own beliefs, Korea.

Korea, the forgotten war right, We go in to help, fight, fight, fight, Americans die, die, die and get trapped in DMZ Zones and rice paddies and die more. We never helped but we tried and got more Americans killed then we helped. Sad isn’t it!. Yet we never learned our lesson did we?.

Once more, came another country, Vietnam. A country divided again amongst itself and not sure what to do except fight a war. Big brother America steps in trying to help and gets bogged down in a quicksand so heavy and deep we can barely breathe, Americans dying left and right in this one and foolish reasons to be there, yet there we are playing heroes why? We lost there too by the way and that doesn’t mean our service members failed, it means our Government screwed up.

Recently, we got involved in Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan, why? Oil, money is why? Sadly America is still dependent on oil and it’s uses, finally we are learning there are ways around that too, alternatives that work. But in the meantime we wasted men and women, equipment, funds and time trying to help countries once more that didn’t want us there. Iran, Saddam, Iraq now and Afghanistan, why? Do you really think these countries will help us if needed in the future, hell no. They would like to see us wiped from the face of the earth, if we could be. Wake up no help is gonna come from anyone but us, ourselves here in the USA.

Americans, have reached out since forever to help other nations, yet only one in recorded history helped us and that was way back in the Revolutionary Days here, France. So why do we try to be the big brother, massive leader and carry a big stick to solve the world’s problems.Isn’t it time to stop and take care of our own here at home?. We can no longer , afford to spend our capital, our time, our manpower, our lives, our money on saving and policing the world, we need it here at home to help our own. Lets take all the funds we use to help other nations solve their problems and use it all to solve our problems of  homelessness, hunger, and joblessness here in America. There does come a time to take care of our own business, before anyone elses.   We never do seem to learn, do we?.

Happy Holiday Season

One week, 7 days exactly according to human records till the biggest Holiday Event in the world. The Christmas Holiday comes once a year with happiness being spread everywhere, the lights they brighten the night sky as all of us drive on by.  Santa‘s are in the Malls all about, giving out that jolly old shout, HO, HO, HO.

I watched the scenes this year as smaller trees were lit, fewer went to see Santa the lines were shorter, here in America. Sadly we don’t have as much to spend or give anymore, our Congress and President are always at war. AT least for many military families, the ones who fought are home once more. and there is a chance they won’t go back to war.

As we come closer and closer to the magic date, of December 25th we celebrate, I wish and hope for the world you see, a peace to exist for all to enjoy and see. May a star shine bright Christmas Eve Night, and shine through the world making it all right. May all the wars and pain stop for all, may we be safe and peaceful once more.

The Holiday Season is and will always be a time when we gather family. We gather to one another those we love and treat them well like angels from above. We trade gifts and thoughts and wishes, and we sit down and eat favorite dishes. We laugh and hold one another in a hug, and sit around safe as a bug.

Then on Christmas Morning the children awake, they can’t stay in bed so they make a break. Bounding from their beds as visions of presents dance above their heads. They come down to find the Tree all lit bright and presents around as far as their sight, they smile at one another and wait with intense interest to see. Untill finally they hear the sounds of their mommy and daddy.

The parents stumble from their bed, hair all tousled and face all red. They stumble on downstairs you see, to see their children smiling and standing around the tree. A coffee pot goes on and the smell comes around, the children are laughing and bouncing you see, anticipation is getting them for sure.

Dad brings mom a coffee and shares as they watch the children circle waiting like vultures in the air. Laughing Dad says ok, the time has come, everyone sit down and wait each one. Slowly the presents are passed out you see unwrapped as the paper flies about almost hitting the tree. The gifts pile up one  by one till all the children are finally done,

Breakfast is next says mom you see, for if you don’t eat you don’t play with what you got, now the children sit down and will eat it,  cold or hot. Breakfast all done the children run to grab their new toys for girls and boys. They grab their favorite and start to play, and suddenly the laugher grows it doesn’t go away.

Mom and Dad stand there and smile, and whisper to one another, all is happiness for a while. They hug and smile and laugh and kiss and the rest of the Holiday is filled like this. In thinking back, and stopping to wonder, was this your Christmas I saw or a blunder. Whatever your style of Holiday may be, I wish you all a Happy Holiday Season from Me!.

The Holy Ghost

Among the many mysteries, and adventures in life are the people we meet and the reasons and places we meet them in and what they end up meaning to us. As 2011 comes to a close and another year rolls by slowly, I like to think back to people I haven’t seen in ages.  People who had no idea how they affected my way of life and how I choose to live it. Ultimately, we all know it is the things we are taught, combined with the experiences we  lived through that makes us who we are today.

The first and foremost people we all tend to remember in the Holiday Season each year is our own families. The parents who raised us and provided homes and education and clothing and food for us. Yes our dear Fathers and Mothers, they have us, give birth to us, feed us, wash us, care for us and discipline us too. Something they got overly emotional, or physically too strong for us, but they tried as they might to teach us right from wrong and to teach us to do better than them. Did we only time would tell and in the end if we didn’t we sure learned a lot from them and got a lot from them didn’t we?

Then, we come to our siblings the ones we grew up side by side with in the same home, and learned with. They are supposed to be the next closest to us, aren’t they. Well not all families have that comfort and knowledge as some of us well know. Some of us have no idea who our so-called siblings are or were, during our lifetimes. We loose contact with them as they go their own ways and do their own things. So to my siblings out there, there were a total of five of us, Keith, me. Alex(Deceased) April (the only girl) and the baby boy Mathew where ever he may be, I think of each of you this Holiday Season and Wish you all the best.  As our mother once said, before her death ” Your Brothers and Sister are all you have after I am gone, Love and live together.” It didn’t work that way mom sorry and may never be, but the message you gave stays with me.

What do you say about a man who was a contradiction each day of his life, yet raised you and loved each of us in his own way.? Yes he wasn’t perfect, yes he was violent and damaged us sometimes both mentally and physically, but he provided, everything he had to us in his own way. He took a woman with two small kids and raised us as his own, provided homes, food, clothing and more, and never once abandoned us in anyway. He didn’t have to raise another man’s sons, he could have run away, yet each and everyday he did stay. Happy Holiday Dad where ever you may be now, for you did what you could for all of us somehow.

Then, you begin to spread wider in your circles of life and remember childhood friends you spent important hours with exploring, playing and learning from and being accepted by. Each a special friend in their own right, and in their own way, who helped to make you the person you are today. My friends range in age and sex and in income and color and race, but not one of them would I ever replace. I won’t name, names here because there are so many who helped me become the man I am today.

So, as I now look back at the end of 2011, the parents that raised me are long dead and gone, my siblings lives have moved on. My older friends are now all grown and each of us have families all our own. So as the Holiday Season burns so bright and outside are all the Christmas Lights. The lights all pretty and all bright, the tress lighting up the houses each night. The decorations all about, and the hope for Peace is within a shout. May God Bless my family and my friends, may God make us all Healthy, Happy and Peaceful once again. May Christmas bring us closer to those we love most, God Bless us all, from Jesus, to Mary  and The Holy Ghost!.
