The Human Mind and Depression-

The human mind is a delicate piece of the human anatomy that can be shaped by the social pressures of family, friends,loves, loses and much more.It also holds a delicate chemical balance in it so we remain sane and stable, if any of the above items go out of sync so to say the human mind become unstable and mean or sad events can happen to the person whose brain it is and to the family and friends of those around that same person.

I am not Doctor Phil, or any other Doctor of the psychological profession or even the sociological profession I am an ordinary american who has lived with and through depression from childhood till today at 58 years old so i understand it well. The ups and downs of the human mind and it’s delicate balance towards normalcy can be tipped by events, chemical imbalance in the mind, events in life, the death of a loved one, or the lose of love period or rejection by those you thought loved you. Almost anything that, does not fit the human mind current perception of reality can tip the scales and drive one to insanity or depression.

If it is a chemical imbalance it can be treated with drugs and prescriptions and medical help period .But if it is caused by family pressure, social pressure or or rejection of any nature, then the problem is harder to diagnose or care for. Society as a whole is a cruel and dangerous place for the human mind to be in. It can get damaged by other minds, physical torture or abuse and so much more. The question is how does mankind protect itself from these problems of a mental or brain nature?

We should start at our birth parents and the delicate balance of the family unit is vital. Secondly sibling rivalries have to be controlled so no child who is bigger physically or smarter mentally , can damage a lesser child in these areas and they weaker ones can grow and achieve also.  Thirdly as many parents know as a child grows,  they must be guided towards decent people with character and of a equal or better social status. Then you have to watch what they watch and listen to, the video game dilemma come into play, what they read or don’t read and in the end what or how they play and with whom. The world ladies and gentlemen is a very dangerous place for a young mind and child, they can be destroyed by a society, a climate, or outside influences so be careful.

For many depression starts at home, when one parent or both parent favors one child over another or all the others. Or when one child is abused because they look like one parent, and not the other, or because a divorce has occurred. These children turn inwards and hide and avoid the public and others, and they experiment more on their own because they are rejected by others. The bottom line is they feel they can’t fit in, it is at this point they reach out for help in one way or another. Either to friends, or to the wrong friends and alcohol and drugs, or they withdraw so far inwards they are never to come out of the shells they live in. It makes them unacceptable by societies rules, regulations and norms and makes them outcasts struggling for personal identity they can not seem to find and latch onto. sadly, we have many of these in our world, Charles manson, Squeeky Fromme, and many who become murderers and sociological outcasts and dangers to society as a whole.  Can we change this, I think we can change a lot of it, but to overcome the whole, we would have to stop unbalanced minds and people from having children of their own to destroy, we can’t so we deal with it all through, rejection, avoidance, and outcasting of the ones who don’t fit the mold. Sad isn’t it, but true!

Before we start to examine why Robin Williams committed suicide or why Charles manson is mad, or anyone else has problems we all need to remember one thing, we are human beings, made in the image of our God so to say, yet not all of us are perfect nor will we ever be, no one is. We have to find better ways to prevent the social problems at least and lower the number of mental problems and depression one step at a time starting with the family unit and expanding outward from there, from birth on. I am no doctor as I said, nor am I some genius or mental might with all the answers, but I am a survivor of Attention deficit disorder, hyper-activity, depression, PTSD and a life filled with destructive memories from a family of horrors as a child. So I think in closing the discussion, I have every right to tell the world, we need to help stop all of this that happens to all.

 

 

     Depression is now the biggest topic since Robin William’s Suicide happened. Before his doing so, depression was more or less a subject avoided by many people  across the world. The Question always comes up in any discussion of his suicide, how could a man with such a life and comic and acting ability kill himself and for what reason? The answer lies not in his public persona, but in his private persona buried within him. A Bad childhood, a rejections, a chemical imbalance in the brain all are causes of this, but so are outside societal pressures. To fit in, to stand out, expectations etc,. it all pressures an individual beyond compare. Mr. williams had to live up to expectations as an actor, comic, father, husband and a public figure while suffering from depression and thoughts of killing himself. For a man so talented it must have been one hell of a struggle for all the years he stayed on top in the entertainment business. 

       While Robin Williams, is one example of a suicide and mental illness case, so many suffer from depression in the world the numbers are astounding. We can help those who have depression due to chemical imbalance, with prescription drugs and doctors. But there are other reasons for depression in human beings. Family pressures and rejection, peer pressure, are two of those reasons. Then you have the third reason, people are just mean to people and put people down and pick on them because they are physically or mentally different then them. All of these above are sad and happen daily in the world to many people. depression holds people back, it kills and it can spread genetically too.

        As a survivor of cancer and PTSD as a Disabled Veteran I know depression in many ways and have lived through it in childhood and adulthood aboard naval ships. I knew what it is like to be rejected as a child and pushed around I had attention deficit and hyper activity, so I was  rejected in my elementary school years by my fellow students and family and kids in my neighborhood too. I knew depression at a young age of 8 when I was put away in an Institution for two years and thought of killing myself many times. But I survived it all, by not surrendering.

         I survived depression in my military years sitting aboard a ship in the Navy staring at Boiler fires on a Burner front. I survived thought onboard ships by writing letters to captains of those ships and telling them. Yet they never found me and couldn’t on a ship with 350 men or more. Yet I let it out in those letters and survived, in many ways to become a better sailor.

          I survived periods of depression after my military career ended from a fall aboard ship, giving me six herniated discs in my back and limited mobility. I survived it when the Navy discharged me for the same injuries after I fought for seven years to stay in. Sadly, I couldn’t save that career or the marriage that went with it. But I found a way to save myself using others to talk to and hang out with, who helped one another. So you can see I have a history of depression and I live on daily pills to control me and my dreams of my past. Then when I see someone so famous as Robin Williams kill himself I begin to wonder what I saved myself for, in the end I look at photos of my wife and I, and my children and grandchildren and they keep me alive. In the end when all you have to live for is those you love, you know you don’t value yourself much anymore, so you hang on to them

        We do not know all the causes of depression, we do not know the magic cures either, but what we do know is we care and hope we can prevent further deaths by discussing it all!

 

u      Looking back over life and relationships I have had that lasted it seems to me, all had one thing in common, common enjoyment of the moments I was with the female I was with. Not all, stayed the same over time and some have changed so much, including me, it is great to have memories of my younger days.

        I loved at a young age, but I also learned at a young age not all are who they appear to be, in all ways Boys grow and mature at a slower rate then girls as we all know, and even from the first moment a boy and girl meet till they grow apart the girl is always in control, for they have the right of choice as the female of the two.

         Someone asked me one day can you name all the girls you loved at one time or another and how many were there.Well, to them I give the following answer, they are as follows in the order I met them, and if for some reason you are one of them, and didn’t realize it, you will now.

          In my elementary school days I fantasized over one girl named Mary, yet never approached or said a word to her, but watched her from afar. Was it love, nope it was fantasizing period. So there was no involvement just thoughts.

           My High School days were split between two schools in different towns. It was in the second town I met the second girl who interested me, Bettidean was her name, full of smiles and laughter and always fun. we talked, we walked, we laughed , we hugged and yes I even kissed her one time. But we never did anything more together except become friends.

            The third girl was Marria her sister who I was madly in love with in my teen years in high school and who I saw on and off for two years until we split. Intelligent, pretty, full of laughter and spirit and one of the best people I ever knew. But the fates would drive us apart as we aged and I went in one direction and she in another. And I still to this day would never hurt Marria or any of the girls I knew .

              It would be many years after Marria, befores I got involved with any female again, 1973 to 1979 to be precise. Six years would pass as I wandered alone trying to get my bearings and entered the Navy. I found my first wife in The Navy and married her and the relationship produced two of everything we had, two daughters, two cars, homes and more, yet it fell apart too because of my failure to see beyond the end of my nose at the truth. her family destroyed her and I tried to help and rebuild her and got shafted in the end.  Joann and I split, I would move on once more.

             Then, from 1990 to 1993 I dated one woman, and she left and then I met my second wife whom I love dearly and we have now been together over 21 years and married 14. we have been through financial crises, health crises , and so much more, always by one another’s side and caring. we have gone through homes and bills, medical things like cancer her first then I , and we are still together and I won’t walk away and neither will she. We compromise, we sacrifice and we survive as one and that is what marriage is folks. Melinda is my life and I love her for it!

               So when, I see old friends wandering about, or get asked how many woman I have gone through in my life I tell them I can count them on one hand folks, and it’s the truth in my mind and heart.I went from Mary, to Bettidean, to Marria, to Joann, and now Melinda and that is the number folks, for those asking. Total 5, that I really got involved with and loved period. Sorry there are no dozens as I was accused of just 5.

                Next Subject: The world at war is getting crazier by the minute, Jews fighting Palestinians, Battles in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and now Ukraine and Russia at it too. Then all the weaker countries in these battle look to America for help to stabilize their countries and to beat the opponents. I wish to tell the world America is not your father, your mother, your savior anymore, we can’t keep doing this for other countries We come over police the country and try to help them set up a government and we fail. We the Americans do not fully understand the culture and ways of these Mid-East Nations, nor do we belong in their battles and fights. we can not keep policing nations, haven’t we learned that yet, look what happened to us in  Korea and Vietnam, we lost more people money and time then ever before and got no where with it. we are foolish to think these nations will follow us just because we tell them how or why, they won’t they do what they want period.

                Final Subject for Today: I write because I can’t do much else due to physical ailments, I got in my service years. MY back has six herniated discs in it, I suffer from sleep apnea, Depression, PTSD, and try to survive each day after cancer surgery September 4, 2013, and carry on. My writings are not meant to anger anyone, but to tell stories from different parts of my life Lived thru to make a few bucks to survive on. When you have injuries and disabilities you tend to hope for the best and do what you can to survive is all I am saying. I write many things and try to sell them to pay the bills and to eat and dress as a human being and keep us going as a married couple. As the world turns today, wars grow bigger, more people die and more foolish acts are happening. we have Mid -East crises everywhere, we have an Ebola OutBreak and Economic and political mess all over the world, why?

As people die from Ebola, a serum surfaces to save two Americans who contacted it, more soldiers and civilians die in the Mideast. And in the end people get hurt and die. sadly, we can’t control everything can we folks? Yet, many think America is the answer to all their problems and we are not.

People tend to blame The president for the Economy not moving in America, false folks, talk to Congress, yes the Senate and House. They haven’t done their job since the first year of Obama’s Presidency. They shut down because he won the election period. I know, I know some will say I am full of shit for what I am about to say, but the truths are the truths. Obama is a black man and no one wanted him elected who was white in Congress. They block all efforts of his in all areas and want him to go down a failure as  President. His Health care act disturbs them and they don’t want it around and scream it is helping no one, all lies. many benefit from that law. Elderly, babies, women and even men all benefit from a law that saves them money and gets them prescriptions and care. So why fight it, easy folks it came from a black american president is why, and instead of fixing what may be wrong with it, they prefer to try to destroy it.They ARE Wrong folks!

Next Subject: Video gaming and it’s power over the young minds in the world. Video games invented for Computers, Tablets, X-Box and Playstation Consoles and more, teach violence to our children and teach them actions they should not do. It creates fat children who rebel against the machines or games being taken away from them and they believe they can do in real life what is being done in the games. Again, it is a dangerous thing to teach kids to point guns at targets, run cars at high speeds, and attack people and steal in video games as much as it is to teach them these things in real life. Kids only do what they are taught to do, and don’t know any better, until one day they are suddenly killed, drugged, or end up in a jail cell because they all thought it was fine to do and isn’t under the laws of man, State and country and the moral and ethical standards of humanity. Sad huh, but true!

My Writings and Blogs and E-Books.

   Over time and the last few years I have accumulated many writings and blogs online and in my own, personal computer here at home. Some I began posting on Watt Pad many years ago now and some I have made into e-Books on Amazon’s E-Book and Create a Book.

     My writings or stories or little books i did express things that had happened in my own life, or  that have occurred around me to those i love or loved, or family of course.

     The Idea at first was to write down my feelings about events in my life and how they happened or what was personally wrong with me and my fitting into the American Society as a whole. as I grew and wrote more I began to realize and understand I was amassing many stories and poems and more. Political Ideas, thoughts, and subjects many seem ed to understand and agree or disagree with. All was goof for my mental, emotional and physical health actually and today I still write now and then on subjects that hit me as needing it, or that I need to get out of my system.

      My wish is they are good enough for people to want to read and enjoy for the low prices I put on them, they are not novels but stories I did. Some are good some are not it depends on your taste, please feel free to look them up.

Second Life is a online world, simulator you can do almost anything you wish in, at least it was for a long time, You created your own free account and an avatar and could earn lindens which is their version of money to buy items or play games and socialize with others as doing so.
Now Second Life is stopping all gaming in it’s little simulation world and charging amazing amount of money to run any game in it. It’s sad really for their invention of a simulated world for fun will die without the option to play games and to gamble in someway. many come into Second Life and meet others by playing games such as Greed or No Greed, and single board games too and Bingo. Now they want you to pay amazing fees and hire lawyers to do what ya want to do most in it, sad isn’t it/
If The Linden Lab People do what they intend to do here, they will kill their project and it’s ability to attract people to socialize in it and have fun. Already they are losing people and the new rules and laws have not come into play as of yet and won’t till August 1st, 2014.
As people now begin to bail out of Second Life and head to different simulators to join and start over, Second Life and the Lindens of Linden Labs will begin to feel it soon. When they do will they change their plans, I doubt it, for they are now the big corporate folks now and the whole thing has gone to their heads. The Bottom line is this folks and members currently in Second Life. The Linden Labs folks want to kill Second Life to Launch a brand new platform of Second Life, for all to use and they thing by charging for these games to be played it will close so they can launch it. They are probably right, but in the end, how many of the members and customers of the current Second Life will go to the new platform in the end? I think very few, because they will expect the same act to follow them to the new platform and destroy that too, so why go there.
Do not get me wrong Linden Labs, many of us who are disabled, sick, ill and unhealthy love Second LIfe and hang out in it for socialization purposes and to play games, kill gaming and you kill the program in the near future. No one can afford the prices you are quoting in todays economy to run a gaming sim in you program, it will all die. Sadly, many will exit your Second life and head on back to older programs or competing companies sims who will charge nothing to be there. So you will lose out in this deal.
