Do you remember the memories?
Do you recall, the summers and the falls, after all, of your teenage years?
The times when, you had feelings and fears!

How about that, one special one,
That got away, before the summer was done.
What happened next, where did she or he go, yet?

When will you see them again and how do you measure the difference between a lover and a friend?
Is it so simple, is it so true, is it the memory of knowing, it was you?

Yes, the one that got away, the one you loved that day, and everyday since, with feelings unmixed. Yes, I remember it!

The one who got away, back in the old day, back in the time, when we were all young and I wanted to call you mine!

The days have passed by, and so have the years, we have lived different lives and been through love and tears.
Then I see you again and I feel the same fears.
My heart skips a beat, and my mind flashes back, to the summer of that time.

Yes, the One that got away, before the summer was done, the one that got away, is a memory I am fond of each, and every day.

Do you remember the one that got away, the one you never kissed, or told you cared, about that day?
The one that got away, yes, the one that got away, the memory of them, will never fade away!
